Great service and friendly. My particular tow truck driver went above and beyond what I expected. They are on time and a trustworthy tow service. I would definitely use them again in the future. read more

No discount to be found. I was charged over 200 dollars to be towed just under 4 miles.

I had my vehicle towed by them last night. The service was quick and friendly, and I was looking forward to leaving them a 5 star review this morning. But, there is a problem. Instead of leaving our key in the night drop box of the shop we had it towed to, they instead hid the key inside the gas cap door and locked the car. The only way to open the gas cap door is from inside the locked car. I now have to spend $330+ on a replacement key fob for the car to get into it, and also have further delay on getting it fixed. Now I am leaving a one star review and feeling pretty bad about it. Edit: they sent a guy out to unlock the car and lo and behold the key was actually in the door to the charging port and they were able to retrieve it without breaking into the car...upping the review to three stars to reflect helping them fix the issue read more

Unfortunately I had an awful experience. After calling to ask if they could jump my car as I ran out of gas saying that I *thought* my battery had died, they were unable to get it started. They said it would be $99 for the jump. After it would not start they said they would need to tow it and charged an additional $150 plus mileage totaling $261. WHAT A JOKE. The next morning the dealership was able to get the car started with no problems. Very taken advantage of in a vulnerable situation. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND! read more

While towing the Sienna, the wheel lift of the tow truck damaged the next car (Lexus RX350) . He wouldn't resolve the issue and wouldn't give out his auto insurance information, either. Do I need to call police? read more

I called this company to tow my car, They charged me more then what we agree, the driver was a pushy person. In some point he told me to pay him what he wants or he will put my car on the police impound. Then I call the office to do the claim and they told me that they will give me some money back but they never did. So if you want to have a very bad day and if you want someone to steal your money, go for! read more

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any business. Their driver damaged my vehicle during the tow, and they are denying liability. Save yourself a deductible and don't risk having them tow your vehicle! read more

i would give this company a negative 10 if i could i had a car i needed towed with three flat tires when i called i requested a flatbed because of this when he pulled up he did not have a flat bed instead he loaded up the front wheels and proceeded to tow it that way dragging the two back tires for miles and then acted dumb ass hell when i had him tow it to the tire shop he dropped it right in front and the tire people told him he needed to bring it to the back of the shop he was rude and vulgar with his language im not a prude by any means but when you are doing business with someone you expect some kind of commen sense not to scratch your ass and use foul language i was told they took cards and as soon as he tried to run it i had to go get cash. i will never use this company again and i dont recommend anyone else does either especially if its the old dude with the accent read more

I recommend that you avoid this place at all costs. I was charged 100 dollars for them taking a look at my car and then telling me there was an electrical short somewhere and that it would take between 5 and 15 hours to trace the short at 100 dollars an hour. Took it to another place and they found the issue in about 15 minutes and charged me literally 1/5th of the cost. I have a friend who I talked to after my experience that also took his car to this place and paid a higher than usual bill and his issue remained after they performed work on his car. read more

I recently purchased a car through Discount Auto Sales & Service and have absolutely nothing but good things to say about the experience throughout the buying process and following months. Leading up to the sale they were helpful, honest and never pushy. They were always available when i had questions and made sure i had everything i needed when it came time to meet with my bank. After the sale they continued to be available for questions as they arose and went above and beyond to sort out an issue with my new plates. Highly recommended. read more

Still charged me more than quoted even after proving it was not that many miles. Did not wear a mask in the middle of a pandemic and variants out endangerI got the customers lives. I was at a Firestone shop getting an estimate on a brake job that totaled close to $700. My then-boyfriend (now husband) stopped me and said I should see Ed at Discount Auto. Ed discovered Firestone was going to do unneeded work. My bill with Discount Auto was around $300! Since that event almost 4 years ago, I only trust Discount Auto with my vehicles. There have been other occasions where a dealership tried to overcharge or do unneeded work and Discount Auto has saved the Day. I will no longer go anywhere but Discount Auto where the staff is honest, friendly and hard working! read more

Great tow service. They were on time that was promised. Turned a terrible situation into a successful trip to the airport.

My car broke down on the side of the road. They had a crew member on the other side of town so it was going to take longer to get to me. It was a cold Minnesota day and looking to get out of the cold. Made a good enough repair to get me to the shop. Discount 10 minutes late (which was fine because I knew they were coming from another job) - but I wanted to call discount and let them know that I got my car running "good enough" to get out of the cold. When I called his response - "cool, thanks for wasting my time." Terrible customer service. This guy didn't care about the weather or my well-being, just bummed he wasn't getting an extra buck. read more

Honest and smart mechanics Mike and Billy! I have a 2003 BMW 330Ci I took it to two different BMW certified mechanic shops that wasted my money on tows and inspections. I came to Discount Auto after talking to a friend who referred me, I got amazing service from Ed and I got my car fixed by Billy in no time. Very reasonable pricing for so much work that needed to be done on the car. Car drives amazing and will recommend to everyone!!! read more

Always a pleasure doing business with them--I'm not a car person by any means but the mechanics at Discount can always explain what's failed simply enough and charge a fair price to fix it. read more

My friend's car had the 'check engine' light on for some time and just out of coincidence, we were driving down Raymond Ave and saw a sign that said "FREE WARNING LIGHT CHECK," so we pulled in. Her car ended up needing up needing some engine work, which she had done at Discount Auto and was very happy with. I have a '69 Camaro that had been in storage for awhile and I knew needed some TLC, so I asked Ed if I could bring it in to be looked at. I did so, (I was expecting them to "find" all sorts of things that needed to be done). I was happy to hear a report that it just needed a tune up and some minor repair under the hood. The quote they gave me was quite reasonable as well. Ed, Mike, and George are great guys, know what they are doing, and they took care of my car in a short period of time, with little cost for parts and labor. I was pleasantly surprised with the final price. I had been going to another repair shop in St. Paul for years, but I am now a customer for life at Discount Auto! read more
