I was recently at Dirty Harry's to get new tires for my bike. When I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly associate. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. She informed me that TREK Bikes took over the business and they are the new business owners. I always had good experiences here and today was no different. They educated me on tires so I would order the correct ones for my needs and match where I usually ride. I ordered my new tires and will be going back to get my bike serviced and get my new tires put on. The sales associate and service department were very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. Yes, this is a convenient bike shop with plenty of bikes to choose from. The accessories are available and if not, they'll order you a part that you want/need. Overall it's a good place to get your bike serviced. Yes, they try to oversell you. They never tell you the price of items, they just say this is what you need . The staff are knowledgeable, but arrogant & condescending. They act like you are bothering them & quiet honestly seem mad that you are in 'their' shop. Not exactly what one would expect from a business. Personality of the staff is highly lacking. I will continue to use Dirty Harrys for hard to get accessories & speciality items, but as far as servicing my bike? No. They always find something you didn't need & they do not ask you about if it's ok first. read more

I've purchased (4) bikes from these guys and a lot of accessories for our family and had some bikes repaired and tuned up. The bikes repaired were not purchased at their store but they fixed them all the same. They are knowledgeable, friendly and forthright about helping find the best product(s) for your ride and have a wealth of maps and information about great places to ride. The owner, Barry, is a great guy all around. They are especially unique in that they update inventory daily so you can actually see what bikes are currently in stock and purchase online. They have been rude to me on several occasions for no apparent reason. I was interested in spending 3-4k on a new road bike and they treated me like an idiot. I bought it elsewhere even though it cost me more money. I'd rather pay more with a company that treats me with respect. On another occasion I called to ask if they had product to convert my road to tubeless. They once again treated me like a jerk. I'm due for a MTB upgrade, but I'll never spend a dime with your snob company. I hope you feel so superior without my cash in your pocket. read more

I will never step foot in this place again. I used this shop because I needed a proprietary Trek headset bearing , they are a Trek dealer, and I was in the neighborhood. I knew that the setup on my older road bike headset was unconventional, because a tech from a different shop carefully showed me and even did a little research on it for me - free of charge. (THANK YOU Larry from Performance Bike in East Liberty!). I spoke with the guy at the counter at Dirty Harrys explaining that I needed help with my headset, and that it involved a proprietary part from Trek. He blatantly told me I was wrong and tried to sell me a Headset that he had at the counter. I told him I was uncomfortable with that because of what I had seen in my headset. He was adamant, and in a very unfriendly manner told me I could always go to their service counter, which I did. This guy seemed very condescending. At the service counter, they said it was probably a simple headset change and gave me a price estimate for parts and labor. Unwilling to dispute this - and figuring that they would sort it out once they had the thing apart - I left my bike there. The inevitable phone call came a few hours later - My headset was unconventional and needed a proprietary bearing from Trek! When I picked the bike up, a different guy at the counter said my brake pads were not made for the carbon wheel that I have. I told him they came with the carbon wheels so I am pretty sure that they are made for carbon wheels! Sheesh! I don't expect every person in a bike shop to be a tech expert on every bike made, but I do expect them to be friendly, honest and forthcoming and not to oversell me. All three staff members I interacted with were condescending and pretentious. Repair shop staff reacted like I requested one of his kidneys when I asked about having a dropper post installed. As someone who bikes 30-60 miles a week on average I have been to a couple bike shops in my life. Dirty Harry's is definitely my favorite. It's not the closest to me but the staff makes it worth the trip. Bicycle shops are never the cheapest way to get gear, but it's the quality and assistance of bike shops that keep them alive. I recently bought a new 700c (Trek Verve 2) and after 50 miles or so I'm happy to report it's been nothing but wonderful. The guy who helped me out was very personable and helped me find the best bike for what I needed it to do. When you buy a bike you get a free tuneup 60 days later (standard but important) and 10% off all bicycle accessories during that time. Again even with that discount a bike shop is never going to be cheaper than Amazon. All in all a great place especially if you're new to biking and just want an expert to guide you in the right direction. read more

I was recommended this place by a coworker to get my GT fixed. The gears weren't cooperating so I showed up with my son and waited patiently for staff to get done with their pointless conversation to be acknowledged. I am not a rude person or I would have said something but after getting my work started I was looking around and my son sat on a bike he really liked and an employee said something obnoxiously about breaking something! Seriously? He wanted my son off the bike and after that I left. I came back to get my bike and after riding it for a few miles realized they didn't even fix it! It was slightly better but still not to my standards. I know it's not a brand new bike but for a place that sells overpriced bicycles should have higher standards than the service I received. I am highly agitated and I will never buy anything from here nor recommend anybody to this place unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket. read more

I originally spoke to Scott, went into the store to look at a 3 year old leftover specialized that had been sitting in their showroom for literally years. I Was originally referred to speak to Barry Jeffries the owner from one of their repeat customers, however he was not available. Since their is currently a pandemic the staff felt the need to push that reason on to you as justification for paying significantly higher than what the item is valued at. This is a small locally owned business that is trying to take advantage of people during the time of a global hardship by price gouging. Not only did they try to price gauge, they also lied in relation to other competitors inventory compared to their own trying to push their products with cheaper components. This is a company that values making a quick dollar over customer service and doing what's right by the people spending their hard earned money there. If you plan on being taken advantage of and paying way more for a product than what it's worth I would suggest checking them out. I saw this same bike online for close to one thousand dollars less than what they were trying to sell it to me for. They wouldn't even take the bike off the rack or show me it, they pulled me over to the sales desk and showed me a old sales ticket with the price from 2017 on it. Then said you don't have to buy the bike and walked away. Avoid this establishment at all costs. read more

Times have changed since I last owned a bike. I decided to try Dirty Harry's and it was a great decision. I must have spent 3 hours with Jeff, tackling everything from what kind of bike I should be on to maintenance & repair. He pulled down countless bikes for me to try. When I found the one that was right, he took the time to make sure that it was situated to fit me. By the time I left, I was outfitted with bike, helmet, lock, and map. I bought some other stuff too, but nothing was forced on me. I even received a card to bring my bike in for them to look at after 2 months of use. If the service of Jeff is an indication of the other members on staff, this should be your one stop bike shop. I will definitely be back! read more

Have bought several bikes and numerous pieces of gear from them always at the highest msrp. Their mechanics couldn't care less about you and your bike. After being sold on Stans Tubeless tire solution, they offered to install in on my wheels and when it blew out my back tire seconds into my first ride all they did was laugh and refuse me a refund. Last time I had my bike in for a tune-up I was up charged for everything they did as usual, AND while in the shop they broke my rear shock seal. When I brought it back they assumed none of the fault on their behalf and actually wanted to charge me again to fix the damages they caused!!! I'm am never going back to them and would urge all others to STAY AWAY from these RIP OFF ARTISTS!!! read more
