It's like a great food truck in Austin, but it's a building in Ogdensburg, New York. I do think this place would be popular in Austin (if they had corn tortillas.) We had sweet potato bean cakes that were good enough that we'll try to recreate them at home in Texas. Everything we tried was delicious. I thought the service was good, it was like a order at the window and they bring it to your car deal. I had the Marley burrito which is hot and well constructed. Black beans and rice were excellent well seasoned. The jerk chicken was a little too much allspice for me. But nicely seasoned and nicely charred. The salsa is an interesting chunky style, like pace picante in texture. It was well seasoned but a significant departure from that classic Mexican American restaurant salsa. I am told that there Carnitas and cheese sauce or not to be missed... Several people at work also mentioned the corn salad... So I'll be making another visit for sure read more

RUDE!!!!!!! We waited over an hour and a half and never received our food. The kid that took my order was beyond rude and argued with me and when I asked to speak the owner he at first refused and then when he finally did speak to the owner I could hear here screaming "I'm too fucking busy to talk to him, I don't care". I then asked for a refund and the kid at the counter (teenage boy) continued to banter and was even still yelling rudely at me as I got in my truck to leave. I will never take my wife and kids there EVER AGAIN and I suggest you avoid this rude establishment at all costs and I plan on letting everyone I know hear about how poorly I was treated. read more

Were visiting family in Oct. Couldn't believe the 'burg had Mexican food. My son thinks of that Dirty Gringo burrito all the time.

My family and I were in Ogdensburg picking up a package at the UPS store, as so many Canadians from the Ottawa area do on a Saturday, when we decided to try the Dirty Gringo for lunch. We're so glad we did. The food is excellent and the staff is super friendly. My daughter and I had the Marley jerk chicken burrito which was outstanding...an excellent combination of flavors and very freshly prepared. These things are huge, so go with a big appetite. My son had the dirty nachos which you can customize any way you like. These were some of the best nachos he's ever had, and the order was huge - possibly best shared between two people. My wife had the buffalo chicken quesadilla, which she enjoyed very much. All in all we raved about our meals, and for $40, we had an excellent family lunch. We will be back. Just note that original business info was incorrect and said it was not open Friday and Saturday - IT IS. What restaurant wouldn't be? I told the owner, I'd post an update. Check this place out. I had 'The Dirty Gringo', which is basically their 'everything buy the kitchen sink' burrito. It was the second time I've eaten it, and as crazy as it sounds, it requires multiple samplings to really appreciate what you're working with here. The two fried eggs and Chorizo threw me off the first time, they were delicious the second time. Everything about the restaurant is pretty ordinary, but that's not really a bad thing. Its not as tacky as Little Italy (an itialian place in town), it is clean, you get your food pretty quickly, and you get the impression that the employees really care about the place, and are trying to make something significant here. It shows in the food and the way they relate to the customers. Its a little pricey, but you get a solid non-fast-food meal for under $10, drink included, and you're supporting a legitimate local business. Win-win. read more

Just ate at the Dirty Gringo again. Had the Mexican pizza tonight. It was excellent. There food is always fresh and very tasty. Service is always fast and friendly. The pizza must be like 15 inches in diameter and is more than enough for 1 person to eat. The crust is very thin and crispy. If you are in to Mexican food you should definitely give the Dirty Gringo a try. I have eaten there a number of times and had different dishes and I liked all of them very much. We tried this spot out yesterday and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We ordered the Dirty Gringo nachos with beef to share. The nachos came just smothered in vegetables, salsa and sour cream and looked really good. Once we started to indulge in them we realized that they were much more tasty than we expected. Both my wife and I thought the presentation was excellent and the service was also excellent. This is a great spot for a casually meal and we will be back to try other menu items. My favorite lunch spot in the north country! Their signature burrito "the dirty gringo" is definitely worth trying, I didn't think a runny egg on a burrito would work but it just does. It may be the best in the North Country, but don't get the nachos. Not sure what that cheese is, but it's not appealing. The tacos are good and their Pico de Gallo is good, but they overcharge for a very small container of it - not included with your meal like most Mexican restaurants. I can't get the burritos because of gluten, but my kids rate them as "just okay." AND, this place is really expensive; more expensive than my favorite NYC Mexican joint which is on the same level...not super fancy. I was pretty surprised at the prices. It is a nice little, order at the counter and they bring it out to you establishment. It was a little out of the way, but once I found it, well... I got the namesake, the Dirty Gringo. This is a burrito with two seasoned fried eggs, refried beans (on mine, you could get black beans), Chorizo, Jalapeño Bacon and Cheese. This was excellent with there medium heat sauce. I played it safe on the first trip My brother decided to go adventurous and get the Greek Tacos. Yup, a mash up between Greece and Mexico. Feta Cheese, olives, balsamic glaze olives and lamb(?). Think a Gyro on a soft Taco. My Parents, whose taste buds aren't as used to the hot stuff got the Steak Quesadilla which they loved. This is worth tracking down if you are in the area!. read more

I go to Ogdensburg about once a month to pick up packages at the UPS Store. Usually my go-to for food was the local McDonalds or Subway. I decided to switch it up and checked Urbanspoon to see what local restaurants Ogdensburg has to offer. I came across Dirty Gringo and since I love Mexican food, decided to give it a try. Oh boy, am I glad I did. I've been there a few times now and they have never disappointed. Food is fresh, very tasty, portions are big and the price is right. What more could one ask for?! I recommend the Fish tacos if going on a Friday and if you're in a brunch mood, the Dirty Gringo Burrito (beware, its huge!) I wish this place was in Ottawa.. Mean it when I say it's my favourite mexican in the region so definitely check it out! read more
