It wasn't busy, so we were seated immediately, and the service was friendly, attentive, and never overbearing--thanks Mike! The interior feels like a cross between an old country store and a classic small-town diner. There's a counter with stools, booths lining the opposite wall, and additional tables toward the back. The building definitely shows its age--which makes sense given its location in historic Leesburg. The men's restroom is tiny, and the dining room was a little chilly (something a few other Yelpers have mentioned), but with the humidity outside, it wasn't a dealbreaker. The overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We ordered an Americano, a waffle with scrambled eggs, and the country fried steak with sunny-side-up eggs and hash browns. Everything was delicious. The Americano, made with locally roasted Cafe Kindred coffee, was excellent--good enough that I may have to stop by their Falls Church location and pick up a bag of beans. The country fried steak was generously smothered in gravy, with plenty left over for the crispy hash browns. My eggs were just a touch more cooked than I prefer, but they were still runny enough to mix into the hash browns. My wife's waffle was enormous, and she enjoyed every bite. The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and the overall value is hard to beat. After reading some previous reviews, I'm glad we visited during a quieter time. Between the comforting food, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service, Leesburg Diner delivered exactly what you hope for from a hometown diner. We'd gladly stop in again the next time we're in Leesburg.

The server was nice he deserves acknowledgment. The food however was zero stars. The restaurant was not too crowded, and we were seated right away. The ambient temperature was uncomfortably cold for the entire time we were there. Even the tables around us were saying the same thing. I ordered the classic American breakfast with soft scrambled eggs, sausage and a cheddar biscuit. I wanted hash browns but they were out (at 9:15 on a Sunday morning?!) so I settled for the breakfast potatoes. My companion ordered a side of medium poached eggs and a Belgian waffle. The food came out in a timely manner. Everything on my plate was n completely overcooked. The soft scrambled eggs were dry, rubbery and brown on the outside, the potatoes were VERY brown and burnt looking and the sausage was dry and overcooked. I was so excited to try the biscuit but when I picked it up it literally crumbled like sand in my hand. It was a dark orange and clearly overcooked. The waffle was not even slightly warm. However the poached eggs were warm and cooked perfectly. That was the only thing cooked correctly in our entire order. We flagged down our server and he even said how overcooked it was. He returned everything except the poached eggs to have it remade. When we got the 2nd attempt it was not much better at all. I still had brown on the exterior of the eggs, the potatoes were about 25% less burnt looking and I got an English muffin instead of a biscuit because apparently they were all overcooked. The sausage looked better but was like eating rubber. The waffle was warm but doughy on the inside. We did finish the waffle and poached eggs and 1/2 of my English muffin but that was about it. Didn't eat the eggs, I only ate 1/2 a sausage because it had such an unpleasant texture to it. We totally struck out. The food was simply not good at all. The service was ok. We don't see ourselves coming back and it was an expensive breakfast given we left hungry. Such a disappointment.

The sandwich was at least overflowing and the bread tasty, sort of a cheddar jalapeño bread but..something was definitely missing in the chicken. For the price of a PB&J, you could buy a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a jar of jelly and make 10 of them. I think they tried to price kids items like adult meals. It was crowded at lunch time, some inside seating, looked like more outside. Parking is in a lot nearby but can fill up. Plenty of drinks and such. Kind of an ordinary deli with comparatively good prices for adult meals when held up against other places in the area.

This man is, hands down, the best bartender I've ever encountered, both in the United States and overseas. He's so exceptional that I still remember the very first time he took care of me. His outstanding service and hospitality made such a lasting impression that I've been a regular at the Leesburg location ever since! A normal person looks at a hamburger and asks, "Would you like cheese on that?" The people at MELT apparently look at one and ask, "How can we make this so extraordinary that customers begin questioning whether everything they previously called a burger was actually just meat occupying bread?" I ordered the Paris Burger: Premium beef char-grilled with roasted garlic, then topped with melted French Brie, balsamic-glazed onions, baby spinach, and a smear of Dijon mustard on a house-made bun. This ingredient list sounds less like a hamburger and more like several upscale appetizers became trapped in an elevator and decided to form a government. I do not know what kind of inspired nut job first assembled this combination, but everything contributes to everything else. The Brie, roasted garlic, sweet richness of the balsamic-glazed onions, spinach, and Dijon do not compete for attention; they cooperate with suspicious precision. The flavor is exquisite. This should not be placed in the same category as ordinary burgers unless the category is titled "Round Foods That Technically Contain Beef." And then there is the bun. Most hamburger buns eventually choose one of two career paths: Damp sponge or roofing material. This one rejected both. It was cooked to that nearly mythical point between soft and soggy, firm and crunchy. It supported the burger without collapsing, disintegrating, or scraping the roof of my mouth like an edible Brillo pad. Perfection. For a side, I ordered the sweet potato fries. They were already very good, which apparently was considered insufficient by the resident mad scientists. Someone had the completely unreasonable idea of serving them with marshmallow fluff. Marshmallow fluff. With sweet potato fries. This sounds like a suggestion made at 2:00 a.m. by someone who should have been politely escorted away from the kitchen. Instead, that person may be a genius. The combination is incredible. The salty sweet potato fries dipped in marshmallow fluff produced one of those moments when your brain objects on principle while your hand quietly reaches for another fry. This proves that not every insane idea is crazy; some merely require dipping sauce. I also had the Thin Mint shake, which was excellent except for the only legitimate complaint I could manufacture during the entire meal: It came with an ordinary straw. Every attempt to drink it became a small plumbing emergency when a piece of Thin Mint lodged in the opening. Sip, blockage, investigate, clear obstruction, repeat. I was not drinking a milkshake so much as performing routine maintenance on a delicious cookie pipeline. A proper milkshake straw would eliminate the one defect in an otherwise outstanding operation. This was not merely a good meal from a burger joint. It was a culinary experience disguised as casual food. The Paris Burger was phenomenal, the fries and marshmallow fluff were an act of benevolent madness, and even my complaint involves the shake containing too many actual pieces of Thin Mint to pass through standard beverage infrastructure. MELT is almost worth traveling to Virginia for by itself. If the people running this place are insane, nobody intervene. Whatever treatment would make them normal might ruin the menu.

We had a reservation on a Thursday at 5:30 and were seated promptly. Our waitress, Ellen E, was pleasant and attentive. First we asked about happy hour (which goes until 6) and were told this is only applicable at the bar. OK, I guess, but not very friendly especially to those of us who are height challenged and can't do the high bar stools - and who also might want to enjoy a meal. I had an LPH burger and subbed sweet potato fries for regular fries. I was surprised to see a $2 uncharge on the bill since on the menu (which I just checked again online) these 2 items (regular and sweet potato fries) are exactly the same price. I mentioned this to the gentleman who took our checks (another server) and he said he was told this was how to charge it. My friend also had an LPH burger and asked for yellow mustard instead of the dijonnaise that was included. She was charged $0.25 for this "addition." Again, we were told this was how they were directed to write the tickets. I don't think I've ever written primarily about pricing policies. But honestly the $2 and the $0.25 - combined with the happy hour only being at the bar - seemed very nickel and dime. Despite the food being ok, I don't think I'll return as these policies left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended).

We stopped in on a Friday morning and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. We were seated immediately, which gave us a chance to take in the restaurant's charming farmhouse aesthetic. With its high ceilings and rustic décor, it feels like a modern take on an old country farmhouse that's warm and inviting without feeling overdone. As an unexpected bonus, we happened to visit during Restaurant Week, and the special was an incredible value. It included a Buff-Mosa, deviled eggs, and the Low Country Biscuit. My wife ordered the Southern Philly, so we ended up sampling a little of everything. The Buff-Mosa was a refreshing way to start the meal. Made with Blue Ridge Vodka, Cava, and strawberry-watermelon juice, it was light, crisp, and not overly sweet. The deviled eggs were topped with bacon jam, which added a nice savory touch. They had a bit more mustard and horseradish kick than I'm accustomed to, but they were still delicious and packed with flavor. The real star, though, was the Low Country Biscuit. It was absolutely enormous, stacked with perfectly fried chicken, chunky pimento cheese, and hot honey. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the combination of the rich pimento cheese with the sweet heat of the hot honey was outstanding. The honey added just enough spice to complement the sandwich without overpowering the other flavors. I also tried a bite of my wife's Southern Philly, and it was fantastic. It's a creative Southern spin on a classic Philly cheesesteak and one that's definitely worth ordering. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. One fun detail I really appreciated was that the check is presented inside a book, a small touch that fits perfectly with the restaurant's farmhouse theme. Between the outstanding biscuits, generous portions, creative menu, and excellent service, Buford's Biscuits delivered a fantastic breakfast experience. There are still plenty of menu items I'd love to try, so we'll definitely be back.

However, the waitress walked up to our table sniffling and wiping her nose. The last thing you want to see is a sick server helping you. And I don't know if it's because she was a little sick but she was not friendly. I asked my companion if he thought she seemed unfriendly and he agreed. And although our food came out looking really good, we chatted about how our dishes tasted, and both of us were kind of lukewarm about them. It felt like each dish was relying too much on what went on the biscuit for flavor and the biscuit itself was bland. That was really surprising since that's the entire theme of the restaurant. I don't know if it was an off day and they forgot to add salt or something, but even the leftover biscuit that I had the next day was bland after the second try with it. A colleague had actually recommended this spot to me so I was overall surprised by our visit. I'm not sure if we'd give it another try.
