I found Dirt Divas on facebook through a friend, and for months had been wanting to hire someone to clean my house. I was hesitant because I've never used a cleaning service before and didn't know what to expect or if the prices would be worth it (or what the general prices even were). I called to get a quote and was told about a special they had for $150 for 3 hours and up to 5 bedrooms (I only have 3), and you get to choose a couple areas for them to focus more attention on. Originally I had only wanted the living/dining room, kitchen and guest bathroom cleaned, but to be honest my bedrooms needed to be cleaned too, so I agreed to that deal.
I run a daycare in my home, so they came over after nap time at 2:30 pm. The night before I had tidied up the rooms so they wouldn't have to waste time moving tons of junk around to get to the surfaces that needed to be cleaned (though there was still plenty of junk on the kitchen counter since I use it a lot throughout the day, but they just moved it around to clean under everything). Two people cleaned my house using their own supplies and natural cleaning products (vinegar was one, though they said if I wanted anything heavy duty or to be bleached, etc, they could do that too). I told them I wanted the focus to be on the kitchen and bathrooms, and the other rooms just dusted and vacuumed. And that's exactly what they did in the time allotted, so I am a happy camper!
If I could do one thing over, it would be to ask if the furniture dusted could have also been wiped down either with Pledge, or with a wet wipe of some sort because my furniture was pretty dirty to begin with, so dusting alone wasn't enough. I'm sure they would have done that had I thought of it beforehand or noticed it sooner, but hey this was my first time and I didn't know what to ask for. They did ask me about one table, it had incense dust all over it, so they asked if I want that cleaned off or just dusted, and I said cleaned off. So clearly they were flexible and trying to follow my instructions/wishes. Also, before the cleaning started they went over exactly what areas in the kitchen were important (for example, I didn't need the insides of the appliances cleaned). I was told they do dishes and laundry too, so I am passing their name on to my friends and family. I will definitely use them again when my house gets out of control and I just want the whole thing caught up on. I am considering using them once a week for the kitchen, bathroom and floors, because those are the things I'm the worst at keeping up with. read more
