Dirt Cheap is what it is. First, I like the Fairfield store a tad better than the Davis Hwy. store for everything other than clothes. The clothes at Davis Hwy. are organized better. If you like thrift store shopping, you'll love DC. If not, then skip it, because you will not have a good experience. Some tips: Download the Dirt Cheap App. It helps find out the prices. Secondly, if an item is not scanning on the app, look at the numbers on the DC price tag and look for the percentage sign printout with the same number on the bottom corner. Expect that items will be in a hot mess at times, and they get moved by people. Look at the truck times. It seems to be the next day when everything gets put on the floor. First off. This store is more of a chaotic mess than a thrift store. Second, I used to work at Target. Dirt Cheap buys defective return salvage from Target among other places. How do I know? Because the stuff has Target's big green defective sticker still on it. You will note this place has a no returns policy, and they're selling other stores' defective returns. You have a better chance of getting something that works buying at a yard sale. And likely will spend less. read more

I actually really like this dirt cheap. It's not organized by any means, which kind of makes it fun. The thrill of the hunt. They have discount cards, sales, sometimes special promotions posted on the front door (students, seniors, Vet's). If you don't go when the things you're looking for are first delivered (I get emails so I know when my fav items arrive) they are usually opened and touched before you get there (cosmetics and bathroom stuff). A lot of stuff is good and name brand, you just have to look for it! They actually have decently cheap clothes here. For Christmas I got hand/foot masks and my husband and I matching sonicare electric toothbrushes with replacement heads for $20! They work great still! Ive been to many Dirt Cheaps over the last (at least) ten years. Its one of my family's favorite places to go. After reading the rating I was extremely nervous to go to this locatio but let me tell you i was pleasantly surprised. There was a section that had $40 adult clothing and $20 children clothing but also many racks of $5 or 2/$3, and they were clearly marked. Employees cannot help that other put things back where they dont belong. I suggest you use the ilovedirtcheap website and scan as you search. I brought my brother with me and went twice and spoke with many employees and they were so pleasant and helpful. Theyd open dressing rooms, found prices of things missing tags, gave direction of were to find like clothing if they had seen multiple sized. Cleanliness is about what you expect from Dirt Cheap. Just wash your hands and clothes after shopping. They also explained for the other location is a luxury store and will have higher prices all around. read more

I moved to the west side and found the staff at the Fairfield store to be friendly and informative. Highly recommend using the app. Several reviews claim the store jacks up the price blah blah blah when actually the items are recieved with original full retail and agreed some items can be had from the original stores however if you are patient the discount goes up sowhile it may start at 30% off a few weeks later it could be 70, 80 or 90% off. Google upc and you will easily discover msrp is accurate..using app helps find hidden gems. Store staff have to keep up with some customers that like to hide merchandise with i guess the intent to come back when discount is higher. Discounts are based on lot code so exact items can have drastically different prices example was king blanket full retail was 50 blanket orig store kohls. One lot code was 50% off othr lot code was 90% off. Understanding that lot codes control the discount helps clear confusion..where customers drop items make it frustrating when checking out and customer insist item was next to 80% off sign except lot code didnt match the signage. Which is why i recommend using the app it helps identify the best deals without undue burden on staff. read more
