Terrible Experience - Avoid DirecTV Waited 3 weeks for installation. Five techs came--one damaged my wall, another was rude and unhelpful, and only one out of five TVs ever worked. I ended up canceling the service out of frustration. Customer service told me I'm responsible for repairing the damage and returning the equipment myself. Worst experience ever. Would not recommend AT&T/DirecTV to anyone. I rated them a Zero ! read more

Katherine (Customer Service) was fabulous She stayed on the line patiently with me until we worked the problem She was great read more

Branch manager tried to get my $90.00 installation refunded. Corporate needs to take customer service lessons from her! Their was NO installation by any Direct Tv personnel. I, am 89 year old retiree, was given two remote controls and two wireless boxes that I installed! What a rip off! I implore anyone seeking cable/streaming services, stay away from DirecTv. The only missing is a face mask and a gun while they rob you! read more

AT&T/DIRECT TV is the WORST experience ever. The signal switches off every 15 -20 minutes. Do not sign UP WITH THIS SERVICE. Go to Comcast or Hotwire or anywhere else. Right now, my service has been dark for over an hour. For the 6th time this early morning IT HASDISCONNECTED. It has done this since installation by AT&T in this small community called Pointe Midtown, something called AT&T TV "streaming" ... whatever that is. Nothing is streaming about it. IT IS A SHOCKING FRAUD. AT&T COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT FIXING THIS. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE here WITH THIS COMPLAINT. This "streaming" mess called Direct TV/AT&T used to be the gold standard in telecommunication ... now it OPERATES AS THE LOWEST OF ALL STANDARDS. If you are looking for frustration, sign on to this network, and you will understand why you have a strong desire to shoot your TV, .... Just don't do that. Move to another network that works and cares about its customers. read more

I would give them zero if that was an option. Service tech was rude and yelled at me for calling direct instead of him. He also damaged all of my cable wiring. Never again! Plus their prices are way too high. Glad to be rid of them. read more

Under no circumstances sign any agreements with ATT/Direct TV. They will lie to you to get you to sign a 2 year agreement and jack the price after a year. worst company to deal with and customer service is abhorrent. when called out on there deceptive sales tactics all you get is sorry but you have a 2 year contract and it is $240 to cancel. No wonder they are losing customers at an exponential rate. stay as far away from these thieves as possible. read more

I had to get tv service after my community decided to get rid of our package service - dumb move .There is only choice of 2 companies as we know . Signed with ATT - after a year they raised my price to $174.0 per month . Yes not a typo $174 a month . What a rip off !!!! I called and complained they didn't care told me I m under contract till next year . There is a monopoly in cable service but govt isn't gonna do any thing so consumers pay . read more

LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS A company doesn't get so many consistent one-star reviews for good service. If anyone is considering using their services, hopefully, these consistent negative reviews will help you make a decision to pick another vendor. LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS Q - What happens AT&T when you outsource and off-shore your customer service department? A - You get a lot of pissed off customers that will flock to your competitors. I am now one of them. Despicable treatment by a group of totally untrained, uneducated, incompetent L I A R S First call 10/17 - This is where I lost 51 minutes of my life trying to explain an issue to their incoherent representatives. First Eileen who was totally useless. Then her 'supervisor', Jasmine who guaranteed me I would receive an email from someone on their tech team within 72 hours, Ticket #1-236907879796R2. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Tomorrow, it's my turn and I will be one to hit the disconnect button and terminate your services. read more

The Direct tv now is horrible!!! Always needs to be reset. I think they got to big too fast to keep up with customer demand. Tired of watching something and then all of a sudden it's stops working. Then you need to log out and log back in. Ridiculous read more

The worst company ever. * they don't communicate with you about what your doing. * make one change to your account and that restarts your contract without you being aware of it. * adds promotions to your account without you knowing it, then sends you a bill a month after the promotion ends. * refuse to remove their dish off your roof. * would charge you 100.00 dollars to send a tech to your house. * when they realize your serious about cancelling their service they pull the old you have a contract with us. read more

We have been dealing with Direct TV since March '16. I have NEVER been shuffled to so many different individuals that don't have a FREAKING CLUE on what a good installation and what trouble shooting is. As of today, 08/09/2016, We have never been treated so poorly and unprofessionally. WHAT EVER YOU DO... DO NOT USE DIRECT TV. If you need more information about this please call me, text me, Instagram me or E-Mail me. read more

Absolutely the worst cable/dish provider ever in the history of business. Months ago we were having issues with our DirecTV boxes not working/connecting that well. We were told to get the updated equipment. So the installer comes, installs the equipment...no big deal. Of course, any misleading fine print is not shared (shady and unethical). The fine print basically stated by accepting the new equipment it renews the contract to a two year commitment. I had TWO conversations and TWO different times with AT&T/DirecTV (no exaggeration) totaling over 3 hours on the phone...all to get them to agree to ZERO cancellation fee...because the glitches were THEIR fault in outdated equipment not working anymore. We weren't asking for an upgrade; we were asking for resolve in our glitchy service. Now, they keep trying to bill us $156 in a "cancellation fee" and have now sent it to collections. No numbers to call except the same numbers to the unresolving/lying/misleading/unethical customer service number. DirecTV will be and SHOULD be out of business within ten years at this pace of crappy and unethical business practices. read more

I would give no stars if I could. I was lied to, the guy over the phone told me they work with comcast which is far from the truth I found out after he got all my information. They tricked me. He was also giving me a very hard time so I told him I wanted to cancel my order and refund my money which he was being persistent and told me it's ok which it was not so I told him to refund my money and cancel my order and finally he said ok after telling him numerous times but which he did not do because he even went far enough to schedule a appointment for me and a time the technician to be at my house. I do not live in a gated community so this scares me and this company should not be trusted. Please what ever you do, do not trust this company. I am going to report them for not doing what I asked them to do the first time and setting up a appointment without my consent. read more

Do not get Direct TV. I was told that were merging g with AT and T and move into a home with 2 dishes on roof and one in backyard on pe cemented in ground!! After 3 services came and STILL NO service I was told I wood need a 4th dish on a 1400 sf townhouse and MAYBE it would work. NO thanks. and I am still being billed. THE TECHS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE HORRIFIC. I had Xfinity installed in one day tech was amazing and customer service is always helpful. ZERO STARS read more

I switched to Direct TV and Uverse (for dsl and phone) about 8 months ago. It has been a nightmare ride since then, In fact, I just got off the phone after talking to 7 representatives, and going through 3 phone trees (one of which hung up on me) to find that I still have only half resolved my billing problem. And this is not a singular issue; it is an almost monthly ritual. Here are the problems as seen by me, a simple customer. 1- AT&T acquired, or merged with (depending on who you talk to) Direct TV, which is fine. What AT&T did not do was to create a viable method for dealing with customers; which is especially true if you try to combine your ATT Bill with your Direct TV Bill. And worse still if you opt for auto pay. 2- The communications giant can't communicate. Although, for you and I, ATT and Direct TV are the same company now; to ATT they are completely separate and under no conditions should talk to each other...or even share the same information. If you have a Direct TV billing question, well sorry, you will need to speak with ATT Billing; Direct TV can't access that information. If the billing error is the result of programming, oops, you will need to contact Direct TV about that; and round and round and round you go; through an endless parade of phone trees and representatives. 3- Billing increases forever. About 4 months ago I changed my programming to lower my bill to a more acceptable $160. The next month my bill was around that amount. The following month it went to over $180. then $193, I cancelled more services and found this month's bill had actually risen to over $207. This was the reason behind today's horrid little phone fest with ATT and Direct TV. I was stupid enough to agree to a 2 year contract ( 1 year for Uverse ). I now understand its purpose. Without it, I would have discarded this service today. But the contract carries what I call a punishment fee for unused months. A fee for choosing to remove poor service...call it a fine. Next month will probably be a different story as I finally decide to eat my losses, pay them their "penalty" and move on to a non-contract alternative. I won't even go into the mass of wires needed for their "wireless" system, or the week it took to iron out the technical problems. I won't even tell you about the dropped signals or slow buffering when you try to stream some movies. No, there are a lot of little surprises you can discover for yourself should you decide to go this route. Listen, I have a Master's Degree in Communications. I have helped International Companies train and streamline their internal and customer communications not just nationally, but across entire cultures. AT&T has the solution, which is fairly simple, but refuses to initiate it. Probably because it would cost. Besides, I'm guessing they figure the problem can be mitigated with a ton of advertising; and it can...for a while. read more

This is the worst company! I had them for over a year and I was moving I called them to cancel my Directv because I was not able to have them due to my association not allowing dishes which is there rule! The customer service stated there was no issue at all as long as I returned there equipment. I returned the equipment back 2 days later which I still have the receipts for and I now have a $189.63 cancellation fee! This is ridiculous! read more

rainy day in South Florida today so I only had TV for about 1/4 of the day. Had Direct TV since Oct. 2017 & changed due to less than Comcast...Tomorrow I am going back to Comcast because if you miss the ending of a show because of RAIN cheaper is not worth it. I want a TV that works & I don't want to be transferred to 10 people & spend an hour on the phone to find out that a 771 error is simply "bad weather" & to wait for storm to pass!!! We have been with them for over 15 years. I have had a bad experience but my parents had it worse. They were told things and it never happened. this company makes the other providers look like the best most efficient companies on the planet! i just spent 30 minutes on the phone with their rep. i made it clear from the moment he started talking that i wanted to cancel my service and didn't have any interest in a sales pitch. the friggin guy WOULD NOT shut up. i asked for a supervisor and he said he was the highest level they had and continued to try to sell me. the service itself is sheit but this customer service experience is just the icing on the cake. they will NEVER see me again. i finally had to threaten the guy with a phone call to the better business bureau, the attorney general, and an internet campaign against the company before he would cancel my service. UNBELIEVABLE!! i've got chromecast and internet. my monthly cost for entertainment will be $57 as opposed to almost $200. buhbye directtv and good riddance. read more
