For what value one gets, the price is too high. The workers are supposed to do light cleaning and very few seem to do that. Many sit on their bums and leave the place dirty. I talked to some clients and we all seem to say the thing. I was lucky, my gal was caring and spent lots of time with my mom. My mom never thought she needed care and liked her for the time she was there, but the price was prohibitive. There are other people who charge much less. I found one with lots of experience for $15. Check around is all I can say.

She was very special and became a close member of the family and took me through to the finish line. Apple made no effort to find alternative care as required by law. We very likely had a good case for suing for patient abandonment, but chose not to pursue it since all our time and efforts were going into trying to improve my very sick husband's health. Alas, Apple doesn't have the same interest in its patients' safety and well-being. A very dangerous company to do business with, in our view.

My mother has early stage Alzheimer's which is slowly progressing to mid-stage. My mom has lead a very active life and has a strong personality. Of course, she thinks she's fine and is very resentful that we think she needs help. Her mood vacillates between being very happy and content to suspicious and outright angry. Last summer we noticed she was losing quite a bit of weight and couldn't remember where she would park her car. The time had come to hire a caregiver to give us some assistance. Upon interviewing Home Instead on Sheffield and talking with Chelli I felt they best understood the challenges we were facing and seemed committed to finding the right person. The first person placed with us was very kind, honest and attentive, but no match for my mother's strong personality. Then they found our current caregiver and the match was beyond perfect. Our caregiver is intelligent, compassionate, resourceful, thoughtful, and understanding. My mom can be very difficult, yet our caregiver never loses patience and creatively comes up with ways to distract her and move her forward. She often goes above and beyond the call of duty. For example, she might give my mom a call in the evening to check on her and see if she ate the dinner left for her. She keeps in touch with me regularly and I have such a sense of security knowing she is there. My mom raves about her caregiver to her friends and family, despite sometimes giving her a hard time. My mom respects her caregiver which makes it easier for us. We all admire her dedication to her family, her work ethic, her compassion and her integrity. Home Instead does a great job of keeping in touch and always making sure my mom's needs are met, even when the caregiver goes on vacation. They will make arrangements for a replacement if needed. The nurse visits are also appreciated. We are all very happy with the care mom has received! I highly recommend Home Instead!

I have had some medical issues that I have not been able to resolve for the past few years. Having tried Western medicine and holistic methods, I decided to try out acupuncture. I was not sure where to find a good acupuncturist (other than Chinatown). I really wanted someone I could communicate my problems to and who could communicate with me so that I could understand everything. Dr. Zhao was the answer to my problems. She speaks English and some Mandarin! I had told Dr. Zhao that it was my first time to acupuncture and told her my problems. She explained everything thoroughly to me and put me at ease by answering all my questions without any judgment. She was very soft spoken, calm, and friendly. During the procedure, I was worried about pain with the needles, but I barely felt a thing! It was very relaxing! Dr. Zhao was able to pinpoint all the tender areas on my body (that I did not even know were tender to the touch)! She is that good! Dr. Zhao was able to relate my tender areas to my medical problem. There are many rooms at this center, and everything looked very clean. While I was resting w/the needles in me, Dr. Zhao put on a heater to warm me up and also some spa music to relax me. I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep! Chicago Whole Health Center accepts insurance. Before I made my appointment, I spoke with the other doctor, Dr. Graham Pommerehn, who called my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) for me to see if acupuncture was covered under my insurance plan. He called me back to let me know what my insurance allowed under my plan. Super nice!!! The only thing I needed to pay was a co-payment. Awesome! Best of all, they are open late until 7pm! The building is very large so you can't miss it. There is plenty of street parking in the area for $1.75/hr.

My throat hurt like ****, and i felt like utter garbage. My clinic and internist were booked and i was due to get on a flight to Denver the following morning. Ugh. I googled and found Chicago Express Doctors. The doctor came in, gave me the strep culture which came back positive. He gave me an injection of antibiotics, which i had never had. He also gave me a steroid to decrease my swelling in my neck. He also gave me a Z-pack, sore throat rinse. I never had to leave the house! No runs to the pharmacy, no waiting in lines. IN-CREDIBLE.. i have had strep many times in my life, but never have i felt better so quickly! Honestly, the throat felt better within 3/4 hours. I was able to get on the plane the next morning, felt wonderful. All i can say is WOW. If only all docs did this. I just can't say enough great things about these guys. Fabulous A++++ thank you!!
