Bedrosian has an long standing, exceptional reputation as the de facto carpet dealers and restorers…read morein our area. The company is family owned and handed down from one generation to the next. This is probably why there are few reviews on Yelp. Their reputation eclipses the need for on-line reviews. In case you need to know more, read on! I have both cleaned and restored carpets with them, although I have not purchased from them. Regardless, I doubt there is little difference in the experience. I brought to Bedrosian a mix of 14 rugs. 12 rugs were approximately 100 year old Persians & Caucasians (tribal rungs from a mountainous region in southern Russia / Northern Iran) and 5 of those were in need of some restoration. I made an appointment for a consultation with John Bedrosian and his daughter Samantha and learned all about the age, quality, origin, materials and restoration possibilities of each rug, laid out altogether in their consult area. They recommended repairs to the better rugs and only to clean other rugs that were in "ok" condition and lacked the value that would make restoring them worth the cost to do so, which I appreciated. There was no hard sell. It's a highly professional experience and you're given the time and attention you need, whether in person or by phone. We negotiated to a place within my budget, which was good business, in my opinion, and very appreciated. I also had 2 "modern" rugs in the mix, probably machine produced, but ones that I really liked and wanted to refresh. A good cleaning restored the soft cushion feel underfoot, and the rugs look new again. You realize how dirty and matted down a carpet is after you clean it! One of these rugs had a small repair to a worn corner, that is now undetectable. Cleaning rugs is inexpensive and repairing rugs is done for a relatively flat fee per foot, with all work being done by hand at their location. In the end I feel that I have found people who are allowing my grandmother's family heir looms to come to life fully and will have some unique and interesting carpets in my home to hand down to other members of my family. I really can not recommend Bedrosian enough.

Due to my husband's disabilities I was unable to bring the two rugs back home after their cleaning and repair which costs over $1000. I decided to donate the rugs to a local non-profit. Bedrosian offered me no assistance with my predicament. In the interim a I paid for their service plus their ongoing charges for storage. When picked up by the non profit my bank account was hit for charges I didn't know about. No one from Bedrosian called to give me a heads-up and after numerous calls no one has called me back to explain why I owed these charges since all the invoices in my possession say no balance was due. I would never go back to them.

So when I realized that a few more recent rugs (bought in Turkey about 20 years ago) needed cleaning and some light repairs, of course I brought them to Nazmiyal. As was the case earlier, both rugs were cleaned up and repaired beautifully. The people here are friendly, respectful, and highly competent - and they know more about rugs than anyone else I've met anywhere. My apartment is not large and I don't have room for any more rugs - but when the rug I bought in India a few years ago needs cleaning (sometime in the 2040s is what I'm guessing), I'll bring it here. And if I ever move to a larger place, I'll be coming to Nazmiyal to maybe pick up a few more rugs. They've got a huge collection.
