Today we had them at the school to provide snow cones to our students. Michelle and Herb, along with their daughter and nephew, served about 400 snow cones in about 3 hours. The staff of Rasbury's was very friendly and accommodated all of our wants and needs. All employees wore latex gloves while serving our students. Not one student went away with a frown. The students had the option of Blue Rasberry, grape, strawberry, and banana. They also had a couple of sugar free flavors, one was Georgia Peach which I heard was awesome. Quick service plus lots of smiles equals a great time. At their shop on Main Street they also serve ice cream. I have not experienced it yet but when I do you can guarantee I'll do a review. The snow cones I give for sure!

We came in at 1pm on a Wednesday to only one employee working, which worried us initially since we had a party of 6 but she got to us quickly and had our food ready in under 15 minutes. However this was not the case, even though there was only one other customer in the room with me, the two attendants still found no time to say, "good morning." When I asked for a standard coffee latte, I was informed that the espresso machine was broken but if I wanted to walk all the way around the hotel to a different location they'd be happy to supply me with the cafe latte. I opted to go go for a regular coffee with room for cream. I was not offered a choice of coffee but coffee but I figured it was good in any case so no matter. I went to the condiments station to dress my coffee and was disappointed to find only creamers in the little plastic containers you find at a Loves travel stop or a Denny's... Bummer. Oh well. I still got some coffee, but truthfully it isn't much better than what I brewed in my room with the little packets. I wouldn't be such a snob about it, but we are in a high end resort and I expected better here.

The Service: Good, friendly, and helpful, even if it is not quite top-level perfection. The Theme: A cool, historic building from 1900 with a fun old-time soda fountain concept. The Bad The Music: The continuous antique pipe organ sounds were monotonous. Playing peppy 1940s or 1950s tunes would make the experience much more fun and lively. The Idea: Save the nostalgic pipe organ for a rare, special background moment instead of playing it the whole time.

Unfortunately, we were refused service, even though another girls' softball team had just been served before we arrived. We understand that restaurants can become busy and sometimes have limitations, but it was frustrating to see one team accommodated while ours was turned away. The inconsistency left our players, parents, and coaches feeling unwelcome. It's a beautiful restaurant with a great reputation, which made the experience even more disappointing. We had been looking forward to visiting, but based on how our group was treated, we'll be choosing other places to support in the future.

The shop has an odd set up.You walk down a somewhat long passageway to get to it. The shop itself is not very big. There are some tables to dine at though just outside of the shop, just off of the passage way. The shop had a bunch of ice cream to choose from. I would say about 40 flavors. The guy working the counter was nice enough, but my interaction with him was limited. I orderd two scoops of Black Walnut ice cream. It was ok. I felt that it tasted like your typical ice cream. I think it was definitely over priced at $9. Don't get me wrong, the ice cream is good. It just did not set itself apart from the other ice cream shops that I have been too. Chocolate Moose has a wide selection of ice cream: homemade dairy or vegan hard ice cream or soft…read moreserve, available as a standard cup/cone or blended into shakes, floats, or sundaes. The vegan flavours are somewhat less interesting than the some of the dairy flavours, but still offers some variety: they always carry vegan vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and grasshopper. You can also get any of the vegan flavours in your sundae/blizz/whatever, so this is actually a very good place if you can't or don't want to have dairy. Having tried all of the vegan flavours, I thought the chocolate was actually too cloyingly rich and sweet, but I really liked the others. The vegan ice cream is oat-based, which I prefer over the more common coconut. They also have a rotating selection of soup (with a few meat and a few vegetarian or vegan options available at any given time) in what I assume is a bid to stay relevant during the winter. The ice cream is still the main attraction for me at any time of year but the soup is worth getting if you want to make a meal of it, and it's nice to have something healthy to balance out the ice cream. I have tried the cream of asparagus and carrot ginger. The carrot ginger had shredded carrot in it instead of being a totally smooth puree, which I actually really liked. There is also some summery Americana food like hot dogs and mac and cheese, but I haven't tried any of that so I can't comment. The place has lots of seating inside and outside. It seems like they generally get very busy in the evenings but it's usually quieter during the day. The staff have been friendly in my experience. When I ordered a soup and sundae together, they offered to make the sundae and keep it in the fridge for me until I was ready to eat it, which was nice and thoughtful.
