I haven't had the courage to say anything or speak up about this til now, but this happened around…read more10 years ago. I had Mel as a counselor when I was 16, and I can say now as a 27 year old, he was the worst therapist I've ever had. I almost always felt worse about myself after each session, and I felt like he only ever cared about how my father and how my step mother felt about me through the entire experience. My stepmom was sending him emails about negative opinions she held towards me, and he took her opinions as fact and made me feel degraded and worthless in our sessions and would question me on why I couldn't deal with my abusive parents better. It got to the point where this therapist suggested and fully convinced me that I had an electra complex and was mad at my father for having a new woman in his life besides me. I was just trying to vent about how my stepmother randomly infiltrated my childhood home, flipped my entire life upside down, and was verbally abusing me, and his first and only focus was on how I as a 16 year old child saw my father as a sexual counterpart. Some backwards Freudian shit. He thought that I was mad that I was being replaced as the dominant woman in the household. This has messed with me to this day, I fully Do Not agree with that diagnoses, but to this day he makes me question things about my own health that I know are untrue and that deeply unsettles me. He constantly betrayed my confidentiality because my dad and stepmom would suddenly just know things I talked about in therapy, and my experiences with this therapist made me resist therapy for years based on his ineffectiveness of counseling. I would recommend he not be a registered therapist on just my experience as a child in his care alone, but I just don't know what other minors have been in his care since then and are also scared to speak up. Please anyone else, see this as an indicator that you are not alone

If you're like me and are perhaps a little accident prone or clumsy a great chiropractor is a must…read morehave. Disaster seems to know just where I'm at...ALWAYS and strikes me down at will. From falling down stairs, car accidents and work mishaps to migraines I've managed to run the gamut of pain induced misery. What I found when I was 21 or 22 was that a chiropractor can do what muscle relaxers and anti inflammatories cannot. They FIX it, no covering symptoms so conditions worsen. I pinched my sciatic nerve at 21 or 22 and went to the doctor barely able to walk. I didn't wanna breathe the pain was so awful. Pills were given to me to relieve my symptoms. They did nothing. Not one medication took the edge off the pain but when my boss called the chiropractor down the block my life changed. She explained that her tech could barely walk and asked if he would have any time to see a new patient. She was speaking to Dr. Reid Ketteler who was closing for lunch within just a few minutes. What the man did was phenomenal. He asked me to come in at 12, ON HIS LUNCH HOUR, so he could help me. He took x-rays and studied them with me, he measured my muscle function and showed me the reason behind the pain and then worked out a treatment plan with me. He made me part of my own care and solution and educated me and you know what? Funnily enough the pain went away. I was able to walk and run and even got back to my volleyball league. So my review goes like this: Dr. Ketteler is a rare gem! He is a kind, caring and compassionate professional that enjoys helping others. His office assistants are sweet, friendly and personable; the treatment offered is top notch. I cannot say enough about just how wonderful this practice is! If you're experiencing any kind of chronic pain Dr. Ketteler is my number 1 recommendation to correct the problem. Chiropractic care treats many things so whether it's pain or another condition that takes you to him, you won't be disappointed.
