In my job with Senior Care Authority, I help seniors and their families navigate their care and…read morehousing options. Making these decisions can often be confusing and stressful. We want the seniors we love to not only be safe, but happy and thriving in their environment. Because of my job I have been in or worked with a ton of the senior communities in the KC metro. I recently worked with Oak Pointe to help arrange moving someone from rehab to assisted living. The lady had gone in for a routine surgery and ended up with a cancer diagnosis and the decision that she could no longer live at home. It was a shock to the whole family. We also had the added stress of moving during the peak of the COVID pandemic. Oak Pointe bent over backwards to work with the family and the rehab and make the transition as easy as possible. They were continually in contact with the rehab arranging her transfer, setting up hospice and made special accommodations for her move in. I was so impressed, especially with Tara. Each step of the way, the family was more reassured they were putting their mother in great hands. I would highly recommend Oak Pointe to anyone including my own mother.
