Just off the main drag in a plaza, this supermarket is great for grabbing essentials, beer, and more. It's the main grocery store servicing the entire Lake Placid area. I used the bathrooms which were clean and easy to find. They had the makeup remover wipes I had forgotten, and great snack options for the drive back home. I would recommend anyone coming into town to stop here!

Charlie John's is the only one I've found...anywhere, I think. It's one-stop shopping for everything you need, and almost everything you want. (Nobody's perfect, and their yogurt selection could have more whole milk options for my kid.) As an added bonus, they've also got a beer cave. This walk-in cooler may not have all the obscure IPAs you're looking for (and it actually might, I'm not into IPA so I wasn't looking for it) but it does have all the lawnmower beers I can drink, as well as the spiked seltzers the kids are into these days. Seriously though, the staff is super nice, and didn't blink when I bought literally two carts full of groceries (we were really running low after we hid for two weeks upon relocating up here so we wouldn't accidentally infect anyone). The staff is incredibly friendly and actually wear traditional Amish clothing. The food selection of is amazing and meats and cheeses are like you are in France or Wisconsin. I bought so much stuff I might have to check a second bag to get home and it's worth every penny to me. This store is a long way off the beaten track and outside any city. If you ever find yourself out this way, make sure to check that little treasure out. They actually collect the maple syrup from the trees. The store is clean, bright and open. If I lived here, I'd be in this store weekly.
