Waitress was unfriendly and basically absent. . Everything was very rushed. She took our order brought our food put it down so quickly without saying anything or waiting for additional request. Never saw her again for more drinks and needing a side of mayo. We had ice tea and wanted a refill and had to ask the hostess bc our table was next to her. So went in today, a Sunday at noon, with my adult son to grab some lunch. First impression? Rude, ignorant bartender -- old, grouchy, and looked like he's been drinking his own stock for decades. Before we could even sit, he barks: "What do you want?" I reply, "A menu." His response? "But are you drinking?" I tell him we're here for lunch. Immediately, he tells us to get out of the bar seating and points us to the back. Excuse me? That's not just rude, that's flat-out customer repellent. This guy seriously needs a crash course in hospitality (or better yet, shown the door). He even said, "The bar is only for people who want to drink." Newsflash: we DID plan to drink, but wanted to check the food too. Instead, he runs us off like we were a problem. This place has potential, but this MF'er ruins the whole experience. Zero charm, zero professionalism, zero clue how to treat paying customers. You get a 1-star for this review. Deal with it. I have gotten takeout a few times during quarantine because I've missed trivia nights at DiOrio's this summer. It's as easy as calling in your order and picking it up 15 minutes later. As always, their tenders are AMAZING! The portion is always very generous and the chicken is so good. I love the convenience of their selection of beers in the fridge. Our first visit to DiOrio's turned out to be a delightful surprise! The place has a cozy vibe with some tables and plenty of TVs. The staff was really warm and helpful, suggesting some great options from the menu. We heard that their chicken wings might be a match for the other popular wing spot in town, so of course, we had to see for ourselves. I must say, the 2nd Alarm wings were absolutely delicious. They were smaller than those at the other place, but their incredible flavor more than made up for it. The mozzarella appetizer was also a real treat. The tenders didn't quite match up to the other place's, but since I'm a wing enthusiast, I definitely plan to visit DiOrio's again soon! An 80-cent clam special during our visit was a nice surprise. Next time, we'll definitely sit at the bar, where it seems to be a little busier and a bit brighter. Oh, did I mention that parking was much easier than the cramped lot at the other wing joint for that reason alone i'll return to DiOrio's. read more

We ordered delicious meaty wings, She crab soup, which I heard was peppery and excellent, fried shrimp, and a crab cake that I loved- excellent texture, and good cocktail sauce. I haven't been to this place in probably 20+ years. Everyone says the Buffalo wings are some of the best around. I have to say I am in agreement. These just edge out Charlies in taste with the mild sauce. The wings were cooked perfectly and the wing pieces seemed to be more or a light meat in comparison to others. The tenders aren't your area standard and seem more tender than others that can be a little dry and stringy. The side tossed salad was a very good size and the Jalapeño Ranch dressing was good, had a little more heat than I anticipated. If I had one complaint it is the lack of wing sauce at the bottom of the bowl. With meaty tenders i like to dip back in the wing sauce at the bottom but my order was lacking in this area vs, Charlie's makes sure you have plenty. I'll definitely return. read more

Can't believe I passed by this place so many times without going in. Nice dive bar with nice staff and good bar food. I went for lunch with a friend and we got wings and I got steamed clams as well. They don't have clams with white garlic sauce on the menu, but I requested it and the waitress accommodated me which was nice. I can't really judge it too much since it isn't a regular menu item, however, I think that Juliano's holds the best clams white in the area. I usually get wings dry, but figured I would get them tossed in sauce since that is traditional here. They had a nice crisp texture even with the sauce. I think they might use cornstarch to fry. All in all I had a good time and I will for sure be back Wednesday for the 70 cents wings. read more

Old old old and outdated. The owner is grouchy. We had a new server and our food was cold and soggy by the time it got to us. It's time to sell. Beers are in the higher side, I would not recommend going on half price dinner night (Monday). The patrons are pleasant enough to move over a couple seats to accommodate us at the bar prior to our table. Bathrooms dated, tables dated, floors and ceilings dated. Have been going to DiOrios for quite a few years. Food is usual very good. Tonight SUCKED. Wings tasted old. Tried a few. NOPE. In the trash they went. Potato skins were potato and some sort of crappy cheese and a tiny piece of bacon. Kitchen needs a lesson on how to cook or someone who knows how to make a proper skin. 50.00 down the crapper. We stopped here for dinner at the recommendation of the valet at the parking lot we used at the beach. The food was typical pub style food and what we had was good. Our server on the other hand left a lot to be desired. She took forever to come over for initial drink order and was clearly annoyed that some in our group went up the bar for a drink when they were tired of waiting for her. She also forgot to bring out part of our order and when we asked her she said it would be right out. It never came so we mentioned it when we asked for the check and she alluded that we should have reminded her a second time!!! This place has been a staple of our family vacation in Ocean City. Food is 100% best around and the service has always veen great in the past. Terrible experience there with the service this year. 2 waitresses and no drink service throughout an enter $200+ dinner. The server was asked 4 times as the table was cleared for refills and at that point it was pointless to eat cold food with still no offer of a beverage refill. Family left angry and upset we'll 100% not be returning. This place was looked forward to year after year for 20 some years and ruined by 2 employees. Its a damn shame businesses can't hand pick their staff. Hopefully Di Orios can do better for other patrons in the future. read more

Two drinks one of which was beer from the tap and a no-brand martini... $18.50... the casino doesn't cost that much! We could not find a place to eat one night that didn't have a ridiculous long wait time, nor required paying an outrageous amount of money to park....this place was right down the road from where we were staying!! Didn't look like much, and certainly not what I would call a tourist trap, the food we got (ate there the last two nights of our vacation, and probably would have been there every night had we found it sooner!), was excellent. Great wings, shrimp, and the Maryland crab soup was really nice. Beware tho of the mixed drinks served in pint glasses unless otherwise requested, haha. We got them, a tangeray and tonic and a dewers scotch and water, thinking they would be light on the booze....They were not light on the booze by any means, lol...quite a buzz with just one drink. Spent under $50 one night and $35 the other for 2 of us with drinks included both meals...cheapest and best meals the entire vacation! Highly recommend this place, wish it was in my town!! read more

We were at DiOrio's last night playing trivia. The team that won the $25 gift certificate cheated the whole time with their cell phones. When confronted about their cheating, things turned nasty. A guy from their table admitted they had cheated. I would seriously doubt the integrity of a review by someone who has to cheat to win a $25 gift certificate or any of their friends. I have always had great food and service at DiOrio's. These kids need to grow up. read more

The only downside for regular customers is that they often do fund raisers on the nights people are most likely to go out. If that is going on, forget about trying to go there. I agree with the previous reviewer. Good bar food - reasonably priced. The place isn't much to look at, but it was clean. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted and served by the bartender. When the waitress came by to take our food order, I knew I wanted some of thier boneless buffalo tenders (which are as good as any others in the area), but I didn't know if I wanted to follow that up with a burger or another appetizer. She advised me to try the nachos so I went with that. Honestly, when they first came out, I thought "that's it?" because I'm used to seeing mountainous bar nachos. But these were more quality over quantity. They make thier own chips, which makes a huge difference in taste. They had that cheese whiz - type nacho cheese, but also topped with melted shredded cheese as well. These were definitely the best bar nachos I have ever had. The bathrooms were clean, but awkward. I am an average sized person, yet I almost had to contort myself to get into a stall and close the door. The service was great. The bartenders and waitress were very friendly and attentive. This place leaves a lot to be desired with respect to decor. When we arrived, it was during normal business hours but deserted. We weren't sure if we'd stay but we're glad we did. The waitress noted that they had a half price special on the platters that night and directed us towards the back of the menu. I ordered the scallops and the lady ordered a full pound of the grilled shrimp. Also, a bowl of crab soup. Everything was AMAZING. The crab soup was delicious and made me highly excited for the main courses. Indeed, I received a beautiful dish of halved scallops, classically prepared (nice large ones). The lady received her half pound of grilled shrimp. My scallops were tender and delicious, and I noted different flavor in each one. Fantastic! The lady's shrimp (I nabbed perhaps more than my fair share!) were delicious and smokey, but not tough. Perfect really. I was very impressed - We'd return and wouldn't hesitate to pay full price for those platters. Very tasty. All in all, don't miss out - this place is right over the bridge, and they serve up delicious food. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The place was packed. Food special was chicken tenders, 60 cents each. They were very good. Saw many folks getting wings so my friend tried them and said they were delicious. They have specials throughout the week. Our server was efficient and pleasant. Trivia guy was great! I learned more about the menu sitting there that night than I ever could looking it up. Am told the Juilian Salad is beyond good, the Jodi Salad is a best seller for a reason. Clam night was Thursday at .54 ea and were really good. Monday's I think, were Quizzno nite with a dinner special. Found a pool table! A/C was cool, plenty of room so was not confined. Would give 0 stars if this was the option. Mediocre food, unwelcoming management and to top it off, my entire family, who have gone to this establishment every Tuesday for several summers has been flagged because we gave this restaurant negative reviews on Facebook. This is after the hostess told some of our extended family that they could leave and that she didn't care and various other rude comments. They had 25 seats "reserved" despite claiming to not take reservations. Of those 25 seats, 8 were eventually filled by the alleged "regulars" they were being reserved for but in the meantime, at least 15 people were turned away by the rude hostesses. Owner claimed my family bullied the staff and made others uncomfortable when it was the other way around. We have spent hundreds of dollars there this summer and for the past several summers not to mention the thousands we paid for alcohol they provided for our wedding. The owner claims he doesn't care about money from our business. Obviously, he doesn't care about investing money into his dated business and into training his front of the house staff to treat paying customers with respect. While this establishment might be considered an institution in Somers Point, believe me when I say you'd be better off eating at an actual institution. You would find a far less crazy environment and maybe some decent food. read more
