The shop smells like bearing grease and exhaust, and it's glorious. If you do own an air cooled VW, this is the place to take your ride. It's really comforting to know these peeps adore your old T2 or Bug or Ghia just as much as you do. They service other foreign makes too, apparently, but my experience has been with them working on my old VeeDubs. Prices are really fair, given how much parts cost. The work is solid. Everyone is nice. You can't set your watch to them, but you can trust them with your car. Yeah, you might wait a few weeks to get in, but it's worth it.

This is a huge deal for those of us with disabilities and multiple chemical sensitivities. I know other places will but it's a hassle, especially since my disabilities don't require a wheelchair which makes people doubt me and be difficult. I can walk, just not far and not around gas fumes. The guy at Jerry's was quick, friendly, and didn't mind that I talked loudly through my rolled up window. It didn't take any longer than just doing it myself (probably shorter). Truly excellent customer service. 2. They work with Community Youth Services to enable young people to be able to get gas for things like getting to job interviews. When I was working for CYS they were the _only_ gas station in town that would do this and it made a huge difference for the low income, struggling youth and young adults who were trying to better their lives, who often didn't have any positive adult support. We didn't often get gas (only under special circumstances, like living where there was no bus line because they couldn't afford anywhere else), but when we did it was because it would make a huge difference in the lives of these young people and Jerry's made that possible! It isn't easy to work with a small non-profit (you don't get paid until you bill us with proof), but they were willing to go that extra mile!

But anyway... It had been...a week. My younger son's car has been in the shop so he has been borrowing his brother's car while his brother is out of the country. His brother's car is a finicky starter and had needed jumped a couple of times during the week. Needless to say, my son and I were over the car troubles completely. Well, he got the car started and went to fill it up, then of course it wouldn't start again. We tried everything we could think of until we called for a tow. When Cory responded, he diagnosed the problem before even putting it on the flatbed. He was very helpful with providing me with clear instructions on how to use various apps to send him my location and situation. When there was a glitch, he was able to flex to another solution seamlessly and effectively. After some back and forth with that company I decided to walk away and find someone who would listen and address my issue. I have had many windows tinted and was never told I'd have to wait WEEKS for it to clear up and that I couldn't go through the carwash until then. Baffling. As I was explaining my issue with the window tint that was just put on a few weeks prior he listened and was empathetic with my past of having to drive through smoke in a wild fire. The last thing I wanted to see was that illusion from my most favorite vehicle. He assured me he would use a better/different tint to eliminate that. He exceeded my expectations.
