I had a breakfast burrito and my boyfriend had a Greek scramble. They were hot and flavorful. The price is not to bad. The service was pretty slow. Waited about 25 minutes for our food, but we had just walked in after several other people. The ambiance is an old grungy well-used friendly bar restaurant with great wait staff. We will go back. Dino's is the first place I think of when I want breakfast. But be ware that you should either be really Hungary or be prepared to bring some home with you. They now accept credit cards so that is a good thing. Although you do get a charge for it. The man who seems to be a manager is really great, very nice and courteous. He makes up for the stereo typical crabby dinner waitress you get every once and a while. Last few visits I thought were just because of the crowd. Food is food nothing special. Last two times in here it took almost 40 minutes from order to getting food. My boyfriend grew up in Marengo, and every time we go to visit his family we MUST go to Dino's!! We went this past Sunday and I swear I have never had a breakfast meal so hot upon arrival! Ok I just have to throw this out there! If you don't like dinos, I don't like you! I have never had a bad meal here! My boyfriend I come in for breakfast every weekend and also the fish fry is AMAZING and literally the best fish fry in Marengo! They take their time and actually know our order by heart now! Not from this area but were going thru Marengo, needed breakfast. Happened to see Dino's and stopped. It was a perfect choice! The waitress (I'm sorry I failed to get her name) was very friendly, brought coffee quickly - explained the specials. Our meals were delicious (hats off to the chef!), the coffee cups kept full! This place used to be fantastic when I was a kid. It was called bubbas then, and Dino still owned the steakhouse down on 20. Once Bubba died Dino took over. I went here today for the first time since I was in high school, and it's not good anymore. The once large beautiful restaurant is now tiny and split with a tavern. I was here nearly an hour waiting for food and my check. The waitress was inattentive and too busy gossiping. It's sad to see a place I once loved to dine at before school in this state, and will pass coming here in the future. The food was good, but not worth the wait. read more

I was with a group of five and the restaurant was nearly empty and then filled up. A party of about eight got there about 30 minutes after us and received there food before us along with everyone in the entire town of Marengo. They take 10 years to cook eggs and hash browns apparently. Marengo cafe across the street is a better choice. read more

Dino's doesn't get enough credit with the other reviews written on here. I got the Gypsy and it was OUTSTANDING. My mom got eggs and sausage with a side of hash browns and my dad got the Western Omelet; they were both delicious. The service was super, and everyone was friendly to us. My husband and I had to be in Union this past Sunday -- on our way back home to Schaumburg we stopped at Dino's. What a fabulous find! We didn't realize they close on Sunday's at 1P - it was 12:45 when we walked thru the door - the staff was super friendly - seated us and our waitress had coffee ready and took our order when we were ready - we were not rushed in any way which was amazing! My husband ordered a "custom" asparagus and Swiss cheese omelet with hash browns (nicely crisped) and wonderful buttered rye toast (most places we frequent back in the NW suburbs won't do this for us unless you ask and then they frown because it's extra work!). I had eggs, bacon (we like ours crispy and crunchy and this did not disappoint) hash browns and rye toast. Who could know anything so simple could taste this good. Many times when you walk into a restaurant right before closing you're not sure if you'll end up with soggy potatoes, etc. Not the case here, unbelievably, some of the freshest food we've tasted! My husband even asked if he might have a "to go" cup for his coffee and he was given a fresh cup for the road! We'll definitely make a trip back -- and you should definitely add this place to your list as a breakfast favorite!! read more
