The restaurant is conveniently located right on the downtown strip with free street parking nearby, which is always a plus. The atmosphere was inviting from the moment we walked in. The host welcomed us and told us we could sit anywhere we liked, so we chose a quieter table away from the bar area. There is also a stage section that looked perfect for live music nights, although there was no entertainment during our visit. Overall, the ambiance was trendy, relaxed, and had a great neighborhood feel. They also appeared to have some very good happy hour specials for those who drink. Our server was very sweet and offered several recommendations. We decided to share the burrata appetizer and the skirt steak dinner. The steak arrived first and looked absolutely beautiful. The quality of the meat itself was outstanding and cooked very well. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable charred flavor from what seemed like a dirty grill, which took away from an otherwise excellent steak. It was disappointing because the quality of the meat was truly superb. The fries were also surprisingly good and almost tasted closer to sweet potato fries. At that point, we realized our burrata appetizer had been forgotten. Once we flagged down our server, she immediately corrected the mistake and brought it out quickly. Thankfully, it was absolutely delicious and ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. The fresh burrata paired perfectly with the heirloom tomatoes and tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. Toward the end of dinner, service became difficult again. We were ready for more water, a box, and the check, but our server was nowhere to be found despite the restaurant not being particularly busy since it was still early in the evening. I eventually had to get up and ask the bartender for assistance. Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance and appreciated the quality of the food. There were definitely some service inconsistencies, but the restaurant has a lot of potential and several dishes that stood out.

The only thing I would say is that you can sometimes feel a little rushed to place your order. My favorites are the duck pasta, Caesar salad, any of the steaks, and the croissant ice cream sandwiches. Everything is so good! The restaurant also has such a great vibe and atmosphere. Definitely a spot I always enjoy coming back to!

The wedge salad was phenomenal -- honestly, a dish on its own. The sausage was good, but nothing I'd lose sleep over. The steaks, however, were perfect: beautifully cooked, incredibly flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great steakhouse. Then came the strawberry shortcake -- WOW. Easily one of the highlights of the night. Service was also top-notch throughout the meal. And then... the "kitchen tour." What a clever little production. We were enthusiastically sold this "special moment" of seeing the kitchen, only to eventually realize that the magical journey had one very practical purpose: they wanted our table back. And voilà! Before you know it, you've been politely bamboozled out of your table and strategically relocated near the front door. Bravo! Sunny's, we're adults. Just say, "Guys, we need the table -- would you mind continuing at the bar?" DONE. No hard feelings. We understand how restaurants work. There's really no need for the customized kitchen-tour charade just to get us out of our seats. It was awkward and honestly a little embarrassing, and it left a surprisingly bad taste after what had been such an excellent experience. Do better with this, Sunny's. The restaurant, food, and service are too good to end the evening with something that feels so unnecessary and disingenuous. Will we come back? Absolutely. The food was that good.
