Heads up that the address listed here is for the store in town, but be sure to also visit the nearby factory where they are cutting the crystal; it's a very short drive and would even be walkable in good weather. It was a rainy, windy day and we were looking for something to do, and did have a rental car. We found Dingle Crystal online and saw that they did tours. You could reserve a time online, but we couldn't find anything about cost, so we just went over there. It turns out the tour was free! On arrival we were greeted by very friendly and cute dog #1 who tried to climb into our rental car, but was cool with redirection and distraction with lots of petting from all of us despite the wind and rain. The glass in the shop area at the factory was beautiful. I love their use of color! This is a small family-owned and run business. The father trained at Waterford before starting his own shop, and adult children are also now involved in various ways. The glass is blown by others nearby, and they do the cutting here; in others which is a nice local collaboration. We were able to watch a cutting demonstration, with cute, friendly dog #2 supervising all that was happening. It was amazing to watch the cutting process start to finish on a piece and they even passed it around so we could all feel, and see what a newly cut piece looks like before the acid treatment that smooths out the rough edges. If you're even slightly interested in glass, be sure to stop in here! read more
