I am quite impressed with the milk tea here. It is very authentic to the Taiwanese type of tea. For me, I'd prefer it to be a little less on the sweet side, but that's pure preference. You cannot go wrong with the signature milk tea or any variation of the signature milk tea. It's a good punch of tea flavor which is important when you're talking about a quality milk tea. The bubbles are of the smaller variation and are just perfect in consistency. You can swap bubbles for grass jelly if you're not a fan of bubbles, or go without anything if you prefer more tea. We got the lychee milk tea and saw that the brown sugar milk tea was mentioned by a few reviewers so tried that as well. Both drinks were tasty and refreshing. Me and my vietnamese friends prefer hanging out at this place and loving their tea since they open at the beginning (we switched from kungfu to here because of its cleanliness, variety of parking spaces, and closer to eating areas). I would recommend greentea yakult, and peach oolong tea. This is the first time I try fruit tea but its overly sweet. Other than that, the boss and staff are nice and friendly. This is the best bubble tea in East Lansing. Their teas are strong (aka taste like real tea) and customizable. I personally love the golden boba and find it more soft and gentle than the black ones which seem to make my stomach more upset. My go tos are jasmine green milk tea, taro milk tea and fruit teas. Any that I've had or friends of mine have had here have been enjoyed so it is a definitely recommend p.s. I would also recommended Moge Tee here too I just think they are slightly more expensive but have a more expansive interior if you actually want to sit and talk with people. In contrast, Ding tea has been a grab your tea and go experience for me but they have a great Instagram greenery wall and wings wall. read more

LOVE this place. I'm a huge fan of bubble tea and theirs is excellent. This location only carriers the golden boba, but they are always cooked to the perfect consistency- just soft and chewy enough, never the slightest bit hard on the inside, but not mushy either. Their menu has so many options that it can honestly get overwhelming- a good go to, especially for someone who isn't very familiar with bubble tea, is the brown sugar milk tea with boba. It's consistently good. The atmosphere inside is so clean and modern and fun! They have a large wall with fake plants on it that provides some nice lively greenery to the inside. Behind the counter, every step of the bubble tea making process is visible and so fun to watch- my favorite is watching the machine that seals the tops of the cups! The staff are always very friendly, accommodating, and willing to answer questions if you're confused about the menu. I recommend joining the rewards club with your phone number- they don't spam you with texts and you can earn points towards freebies! The price is comparable to other bubble tea shops- you can generally expect to spend $5-$7 on a drink, depending on your flavors and add-ons. The price makes sense though, given the ingredients and labor that goes into making everything to order. Overall, this place is a staple for whenever I need to satisfy a bubble tea craving! I ordered 2 drinks from an application and came to pick up. It took more than one hour since I got the massage that they started preparing them. Actually they didn't start it. They did half an hour later. They also had a very bad management . Due to the Covid, it is limited only 5 ppl waiting inside. They didn't allow ppl to come picking the order. So we have to wait for ppl that ordered at the counter got their drinks. I understood that they have a lot of customers but one hour is too much. It was wasting time. And after waiting for one hour, I got the wrong order. I ordered very basic one, less sugar signature milk tea with golden bubble, but I got very sweet milk tea with crystals bubble. I love this place! In my opinion, it's the best tea in town. Other places tend to be overly sweet for me. Here I order my drinks at 50% sugar and it turns out perfect. For something refreshing the kumquat lemonade tea is fantastic. For something a little deeper I love the taro milk tea (warm). The passion fruit milk tea is also very yummy! Love the Thai tea too! Love Ding Tea. I live nearby and I shop at Fresh Thyme so it's super convenient to stop by for some delicious bubble tea. My go to is the Brown sugar milk tea with pudding, which is delicious. I'm slowly making my way through the menu. I always get egg pudding because it's wonderful and delicious, so I can't speak to any of the other bases. The staff is friendly. The owners are incredibly nice--on one of my first visits a customer was getting up to leave and knocked his drink on the floor. It burst open and made a mess, and the owner came out from behind the counter to clean it and insisted on making the customer a new drink (even though it was completely their own fault). Just excellent customer service. If the store is busy then it can take awhile. For the people complaining about the hand shaking, that is literally their thing (hence their motto "shake for life"). Hands down the best boba place in East Lansing. The standard recipe for the drinks are typically on the sweeter side, I would recommend gettin drinks at 70% or 50% sweet, and less to half ice. All their drinks are great. My favorite is the kumqaut lemon ice tea and thier fruit teas. Their match latte with soy is to die for. read more

Went in today to try the new tea place, as Bubble Island just isn't as good as it used to be. OMG. Got the brown sugar milk tea with GOLDEN boba. Amazing tea flavor and just sweet enough to be almost like a dessert. Soooo good. One thing though- they hand mix these teas and clearly put A LOT of time into each drink. Don't come in expecting a super quick in and out, especially if there are some larger groups ordering before you. Doesn't take away from the experience. The quality of the tea is superior, customer service is extremely friendly, and the interior is clean, bright, and trendy. I can't wait to go back!!!!! read more

I'm a big fan of Taiwanese bubble tea. We usually buy from MOMO tea nearby, at least 3-4 times a week. Happened to notice Ding Tea Taiwanese Teahouse while driving by last week, tried it the first time and it was great. Today we decided to give it try a for the 2nd time and perhaps it's better than the other shop we usually buy from. Ordered 5 cups of a variety of bubble tea, all large. Came back with 4 small cups, told them it's large and one is missing. So I told the short guy, heard him speaking in Vietnamese (probably the manager or owner) that one cup is missing. Few minutes later he came back with the 5th cup and sort of like "slide" the cup onto the table top to me with a displeased expression without a simple apology as if it's my fault that they made the mistake. However, the lady cashier did apologize, which is appreciated. I also noticed that all 5 were small cups instead of large. By the way when I drank the "brown sugar milk tea", it doesn't have sugar in it, unbelievable. By the way, being tipped is a privilege and recognition of consistent quality and service. If you are showing this attitude because of no tip, good luck to your business. Your shop is called Ding Tea Taiwanese Tea House. Taiwanese are not only famous for bubble tea but also their excellent customer service, the service I received today is nowhere close to being a "Taiwanese Tea house". By the way I am Taiwanese. Just a reminder, customers are buying from you because they appreciate the business and experience, so don't treat them like they owe you something. I've been frequenting this place since last semester, and it is legitamently the best bubble tea place I have been to in my life. Everyone who works here is really nice. They greet us with smiles no matter how many people are there and no matter how backed up or busy they are. Even when there are a lot of orders in front of us they always get us our tea pretty darn fast (and apologize for how long it takes even though I'd wait years for them to get tea to us because I love them so much). One time I came in and accidentally dropped my bubble tea on their rug and he gave me a new one for free even though I was just going to buy a new one, and just on top of the extraordinary service you will find here, their tea is simply the best. I've genuinely never had better bubble tea then what I find at Ding, and I've had bubble tea in a lot of different places. Pretty much, I come here weekly and I'd get bubble tea every day if I could afford it/ justify it.
