Dagar's was such a pleasure to work with and they did a fantastic job catering our wedding!…read more We trialed several other caterers that came highly recommended, but were disappointed in the food. I found Dagar's catering off the list of accepted caterers from The Wildflower Center, our venue. We went to a tasting and were very impressed! We wanted to switch out an item and they invited us for second tasting. I can't quite recall if this was free or if they charged us and then it was subtracted from our final bill, but it was so worth it to finalize our menu with confidence! Even though our tasting was yummy, I was suspicious the food wouldn't turn out as good at the wedding, but it did!! I've gotten so many compliments on how good the food was from guests. I regret not going out to see where the food was served (buffet style), so I cannot comment on display, but the food was amazing. Also, it shows that they took good care of the bride and groom, serving us our food, so we didn't have to bother with the buffet line. They set up the tables beautifully, just as requested. We didn't have a coordinator, so they worked with us and had no problem filling in certain decorating requests. They also did a timely job cleaning up the chairs after the ceremony. The only hiccup in the night was for the vegetarian plates. We had forgotten to tell our vegetarian guests to request a special plate so they received it late, once we remembered. An announcement or some kind of cueing for that would have been helpful. Also, they forgot to place water glasses on the table, but it was available off to the side of the room. Overall, I would highly recommend them. We met with Kathryn, the owner, several times and she was always very helpful, reassuring, and knew what she was doing. She seemed extremely comfortable in our venue and made everything run very smoothly. Everyone was very friendly and I cannot think of a complaint about anyone. Not only were they the best tasting food, but also the most reasonably priced. Use Dagar's for your next event, they will not disappoint!

They did not offered a plated service, even so the staff was idling during their staying at our reception. They had an outstanding avocado bar. But the additional appetizers I asked for were served cold and mushy. The main course was Ok, so was the bar. Saddens me that the pictures of the food in my wedding are very lame. Unbelievable after what we paid. And should have been easy to accommodate for only 50 guests. Honestly, I do not recommend them unless they switch staff.

I had the opportunity to attend an evening bbq catered by Chef Cynthia while visiting friends in Austin. She served up an incredible array of creative and delicious food! Pulled pork soft tacos that melted in your mouth, chicken "lollipops" with homemade bleu cheese dressing and spicy chili sauce for dipping, cole slaw, marinated sweet and sour vegetable salad, grilled sweet potato fries and an incredible Mexican parfait for dessert! I was truly impressed with her professionalism. She was punctual, accomodating to our requests, offered up recipes and tips on cooking and as a bonus, she is one of the friendliest chefs I have had the pleasure to meet! You can't go wrong if you hire her to cater an event for you!

Initially, we were going to have 175 people at our wedding; however with the pandemic ongoing and my family unable to attend due to travel restrictions, we needed to drastically cut the guest list to the minimum number of guests per the contract (50), which the company was notified in August of the change. For nearly $2000, which would have covered the cancellation cost of the original contract while still providing food to our guests, I received bacon wrapped jalapeños and Swedish meatballs. Overpriced and poor quality food. Look elsewhere for your catering needs.

The chef, his waitstaff, and overall professionalism unfortunately was very poor. Our event team worked really hard to communicate with the chef and we were very disappointed when he only showed up 60 minutes prior to the dinner starting, cooking in a building where cooking was prohibited, some of his waitstaff was being careless reckless and arrogant with our rented wine glassware, threw away prepared food in our faces and did not serve the full courses we paid for. On top of all that, literally the only thing ready to go was the salad that was on the tables already....the food was not even portioned out or ready and not everyone even got to eat at all. This was so disappointing because he came highly recommended, we vetted him, heard nothing but great things, and it just took a left turn on the day of the event. When we tried to contact him to discuss the aftermath, safe to say we were ghosted completely and he obviously didn't care because he was already paid....we felt scammed. Maybe he just didn't like us but that shouldn't have mattered when we had already signed a contract and paid you 30+ days in advance, so this was not a last minute request either. Hope this does not happen to anyone else...I'm posting this and chalking it up to hope he was just having a bad day and with the hopes that the chef and his team have improved since then. First is the Owl Wine Bar & Home Goods. This store was simply adorable! It is tastefully decorated and stocked with an amazing inventory including hand stitched pillows. Reasonably priced too. I ordered a wine based daiquiri to sip on while shopping. Ended up buying some sage/palo santo incense for prayer time. I could've done some damage to the pocketbook here, but held off this time. At the wine bar, we met a local and asked for brunch recommendations. He pointed towards the Firewild restaurant just down the street. It wasn't much of walk to get there. Once inside, talk about an adorable eating establishment! The interior gives off a mix an industrial and farmhouse vibe. Most of the food is locally sourced. You order at the counter from a simple menu and find a seat. The tables are tastefully decorated with small, real flower center pieces. While waiting for the main course, we decided to whet our appetites with a scrumptious pecan, chocolate chip cookie. Next was the main dish. Y'all, the food was amazing! The cheeseburgers were thick and juicy with quality toppings inside. Not that white iceberg lettuce crap. One bite was all it took to send my tastebuds dancing. It was complimented by an order of homemade potato wedges. For veggies, we chose a beet salad. It was an excellent choice as it was divinely layered with candied pecans. For an extra bonus, you can pop some tags shopping at the Lion's Club thrift store. Purchases there benefit the community via scholarships and helping needy families. Small town, good shopping & great food - I am here for it!
