Went to Alaska for a work trip and had the pleasure of staying in this hotel. Loved it! Parking was plentiful and the lobby was super inviting. Unfortunately didn't have time to try the breakfast though. Checking in was really easy and seamless. The woman who checked me in also checked me out and she was great! Super kind and welcoming. A week or so after, I called the hotel to get a receipt sent to my email and they were able to get it sent right away. The room itself was great. Super clean, lots of towels, great water pressure. My one gripe would be that it was a little cold, even with the temperature turned up. WiFi is pretty fast and the bathtub is huge lol. Would stay here again if I'm ever in the area. read more

We had such a hit or miss experience with Dimond Center Hotel during our stay in June 2024. Housekeeping - since we arrived after midnight, I really didn't need housekeeping our first morning just hours later so I advised the front desk who put a notation. Housekeeping still came. The second day, after I left the room at 9am, I put up the sign for service and housekeeping never come. It may be due to the fact that the hanger for please make up the room is the same color as please do not disturb. Having different colors on each side may be easier for housekeeping to differentiate. Water - We received a note under our door that they were turning water off for 2 hours but didn't specify the date or approximate time. We thought it was that night so we filled up the tub so we can flush the toilet. It wasn't turned off during the night so we assumed it would be during the day so decided to stay out most of the next day returning after lunch to check. When we returned after dinner at 9pm in hopes of using their tub, we found another note under the door that they were shutting it off from 11pm-1am, preventing us from soaking in that tub but only able to take a quick shower. It would be great if they gave us a time frame with our original note the night before. But everything wasn't a miss at this hotel. The breakfast was good and staff friendly and attentive to ensure the food was filled and tables cleaned. It was great that the shuttle ran into Downtown and not just the airport, so we didn't have to take the bus to and from downtown until we got a car. But overall, it was underwhelming considering we paid the most here out of our three accommodations in Alaska. read more

I stayed at the Dimond Hotel one night. The entryway is nice, not fabulous. I went upstairs to my room and it had a overlook on the balcony in the lobby, which was a little bit weird. When I went in the room, I was pretty surprised how big it was, but the bathtub was huge! It was clearly meant to be a nice hotel! On the downside, in the rear of the hotel, there's a courtyard that has some really cool metal artwork like a giant mammoth, but there's also a shed that's filled up with some junk and some equipment. There's a smoking area and the ashtray was full. It just needed some care! Another downside is that they used Fabuloso to clean and that smell just makes me sick. The breakfast in the morning was okay. They had a waffle machine, some overdone eggs, some sausage , and some cereal. Add watered down juice and mediocre coffee. People were keeping it clean, but it was just average. Woild I stay there again? Probably but this time I'm gonna bring my grandchildren so they can play in the big giant bathtub. read more

Really glad we stumbled upon this hidden gem of a hotel -- was incredibly pleasant at $250/night with clean room, big beds, and an en-suite hot tub... one of our better value options during our Anchorage stay. We were here on the weekend so we caught the cute little farmer's market outside during lunch -- highly recommend to check it out! read more

This hotel is very clean. The staff are all super friendly and welcoming. The coffee at the front desk is nice as well as the in room coffee makers. Our tour put us here at the start and the end of the tour. It's a great location- near the airport and has a free shuttle to and from. It's a business hotel it would seem. Internet connection is decent for general use but sometimes it kicks me out for no reason. Spacious, clean, comfortable bed and pillows, tub AND shower and free breakfast from 7-10am. I wish it was a little earlier though. Also has in room microwave, fridge and coffee maker. A big plus is that it's minutes from Walmart and the mall by foot. Another star for this place is the shuttle driver RON! What a gem-so funny and accommodating with a great personality. Someone give that guy a raise! In fact all of the staff we interacted with were really nice. Would recommend this hotel. read more

I had a room on the 1st floor that was a bit tired in appearance; it all seemed old. It was adequate and I had a good nights rest. During these Covid times face masks are required and the morning breakfast was pre-made and in to-go boxes that were handed out by an attendant. read more

I should have known from the circus in the parking lot that things had taken a turn here. I stayed here about 10 years ago and it was much better. I paid $500 for one night in August 2022. Not a great value, friends. There seemed to be about 4-5 other cars in the parking lot, assuming they weren't with the carnies. We also stayed one night at Embassy Suites (3.5/5) and Captain Cook (5/5), for reference. All the same price. The room was clean but the bed needed replacing quite a long time ago. Staff was polite but it was so awkward feeling like we were one of 10 or so in the entire hotel. Redrum? Eeesh. read more

Pro: Nice hotel with clean & updated room. Great location right next to Walmart, Dimond Center Mall and a few restaurants. Con: Internet is HORRIBLE at hotel. Their Wi-Fi is only 1-5 Mbps (Normal Wi-Fi is 50-100 Mbps). And the farther your room is from the center the weaker the reception. I only had 1 out of 5 bars on my reception. Went to the office first day to ask about the internet modem. The girl and two other employees had no idea what an internet modem was. I paid for the room for a week and I needed to have a stronger internet for my work. So I had to spend the entire week walking to a Starbucks everyday to work with my computer. The other nicer hotels in Anchorage have strong internet with Wi-Fi at 70-120 Mbps. This hotel needs to spend a little more money and upgrade their internet service. read more

Local resident. Had to go to the urgent care and could not make my stay at the hotel the same day. They wouldn't approve a refund, partial refund, or a credit to reschedule. They told me they need 24 hours notice to cancel. Next time I'll make sure the cat gives me 24 hours notice when he plans to attack. Poor customer service. Pros: Good location right next to the mall that has a movie theater, Reasonable price, large room with 2 queen beds, huge soaking tub Cons: lots of noise between room- I would request top floor, strange set up for bathroom- it has shower, tub, toilet and vanity in one room- to wash your hands you go out of the bathroom. The tub had shutters that open into the main room so you can watch TV while taking a bath, but if you want privacy to use the bathroom you have to go out of the room to shut the shutters. If you get up before others in your room the light from the bathroom is very bright coming through the shutters. Breakfast is lame-cold cereal, bagels and such had hot waffle machine. read more

I stayed here on two separate occasions last month for a total of three days with my father. The first time was a Friday - Sunday stay while the second time was a Sunday - Monday stay. On our first stay we arrived to ANC at shortly after 1 AM and were able to utilize the hotels airport shuttle. Given the time it was a major bonus and our driver was friendly too. The rooms at the Dimond Hotel are fairly large compared to most hotel rooms. We choose the two queen bed rooms for both of our stays and both times the beds were comfortable. Out of the three nights we were here I never heard any noises from the hall or any other room. This was especially exciting to me as normally there is some type of disruption in a hotel. So either the walls/floors are thick here or we had some considerate neighbors. I like to think it was a combination of both but it was definitely a plus. Anyways, the only weird thing about the rooms here was that there is a working frosted window between the bedroom area and the bathroom. Yes there was a large tub on the other side of the window and it was frosted but if you turned on the light to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, light leaks into the bedroom area. While this wasn't really a problem for us I thought it was worth mentioning. Breakfast at the Dimond Hotel was included in both of our stays and so we took advantage of it. It was your usual hotel continental breakfast. You know the one with scrambled eggs, some type of breakfast protein , a selection of breads, yogurt, cereal , coffee and assorted fruit juices. It was kept well stocked and fit our breakfast needs on each morning. The only part I didn't like about it was that seating was sparse and so you often had to leave the breakfast area to find some seats in the lobby and eat a decent distance away. As for other amenities at this hotel, the only other one we used was their freezer. Yes you read that right, their freezer. You see we had been fishing for a week and both my father and I had 50# boxes of fish which needed to be stored. This wasn't a problem at all for the staff and they gave us a ticket so we could pick it up at our convenience. This was especially helpful since our flight home wasn't until about 12 hours after checkout and so we stopped to grab our fish on the way to the airport. The bottom line for me is that I would stay here again in the future. While i loved that their overall theme had to do with nature in Alaska, it was their amenities that won me over. Both the airport shuttle and the freezer were incredibly useful to my father and I and the breakfast was just a bonus thrown in too. read more

This place is okay. Front desk is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is okay, not the greatest.(bagels, toast, cereal, fruit and yogurt was good, but the eggs taste like powder and the sausages were spongy.) Rooms are okay too! Weird set up in the bathroom. The sink is in the hallway, so after you use the restroom, you have to use your dirty hands to open the door to get to the sink. Why the put the vanity in the bathroom and the sink in the hallway, baffles me. Here's my major complant...NO BLACKOUT CURTAINS!! Seriously!? This is Alaska!! Our room was so bright we could barely sleep. We had to go to Wal-Mart (which is right next door) to buy eye masks. (They work, but not comfortable). So my overall experience wasn't horrible, but not the best. Like I said....this place is okay. read more

Great location- the hotel is in an area with Ulta, Walmart and other stores. Rooms have a huge tub(that was awesome!) and basic continental breakfast is free every morning. The hotel is in need of an upgrade though. Bathroom fixtures were falling apart and it seemed like the bathroom was not cleaned well (or there was stains) For what I paid, it was fine but I might spend a bit more to stay at another hotel next time. read more

I'm not picky about hotels, but I do have high standards for some requirements. Dimond Hotel delivered. A comfortable bed. No complaints there. Good night's sleep both nights I was staying at the hotel. A nice bathroom/shower. This was a hit and a miss. The tub was lovely and so huge I could've drowned in it... but I am not big on baths in general; I prefer to shower. The shower was a bit disappointing. They had a "rainfall" type of shower head, but it was small, which meant that I wasn't getting a lot of water and very little water pressure to speak of. Not great when you're cold and really just want to stand there and let the hot water fall over you. But the towels were large and fluffy, they had a real bath rug and not some towel you just lay on the floor. A quiet, uneventful stay. This was exactly what I got -- no doors slamming because the door couldn't actually slam. No loud TV noises coming through the wall from the room next door or across the hall. I think Dimond Center excelled in the details. I do wish they had room service because I generally like to enjoy my hotel stay during business trips. However, I appreciated the free breakfast (with hot items like sausages and eggs, and biscuits with gravy!). The convenient location also made it easy to stroll out for food, or get delivery. In all, I enjoyed my stay and was pretty impressed. read more

I must admit that when my airport shuttle pulled up to the Dimond Center Hotel, I was a bit disappointed by the location (six or seven miles from downtown). However, the room definitely made up for it! The room was spacious, with tall ceilings, and had a giant soaking bath. The hotel is really close to a mall, and very close to a bus station (I hopped on a bus and was downtown in about 20 minutes). This is a great hotel to stay at if you don't care about being right downtown, or if you have a car and can easily drive yourself around. However, I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you want easy downtown access; you will either have to take a bus or pony up the $20 for a cab. read more

Like Denise V., I'll give four stars because we had a Toursaver coupon. Without the coupon, HAH! No way is this place worth $300/night. But $150/night is okay, especially on short notice (we called from the road as we fled Denali due to an early August snowstorm the day we were set to camp out at Wonder Lake). The rooms were huge and the beds were comfy - my back thanked me after sleeping on the cold ground for the past few nights. The tub was great but the shower curtain was a bit too close for comfort as you tried to move in the shower stall. The location is random, but Anchorage is a small city so it's easy enough to drive to better restaurants than what's in the immediate area. Also, the place is hard to find - to you fellow tourists, yes, the hotel is actually in the mall. Breakfast was standard stuff, bonus points for make your own waffles. Four stars with coupon. Not worth the money by any stretch of the imagination. Arrived at check in time and there was only one person to service the line. Their excuse for my 20 minute check in wait was because it was a shift change. Guess the hotel management didn't missed that class on common sense. The room was nice but certainly no better than any other. The TV was old and the remote didn't work. The mattress felt cheap and was not comfortable. The sheets and blanket were also cut rate. Location- although a little out of the way from the airport and not too close to downtown, it's walkable distance to a mall, Walmart and many restaurants and stores. 3. Based on the reviews on here I choose to book this hotel for my client and his family. They spent a month in Alaska and this was their last stop before flying back to the mainland. I'm very disappointed in the service they received. So much, I feel horrible for selecting this hotel. The hotel advertised a "free shuttle" not to mention I called about an hour before the airplane arrived to confirm the shuttle service. When I called I spoke to Lani and she said as soon as they collect their luggage to call and they would be there within 15 minutes. I learned that they actually arrived 30 minutes after they were called, and that the people who were waiting for the shuttle in front of them had to much luggage there was no room for my client and his family. The shuttle driver didn't offer any words of sympathy just told them to wait and MAYBE someone will be back that MIGHT be able to pick them up. My client called the hotel and spoke with Lani the same woman I spoke to earlier confirming the free shuttle. Lani informed my client to take a taxi and the hotel would pay the fare. When my client arrived at the hotel, Lani refused to pay the taxi and started telling my client he needs to listen more carefully. I'm disgusted that a place of business would treat any paying customer that way. My client is a very successful intelligent man and didn't deserve to be spoken to in that way. The entire experience was rather embarrassing from the arrival at the airport to the departure the next day. I will never book with Diamond Center Hotel!! read more

We have stayed at this hotel many times. The staff are friendly. Room is clean. Most of the time my request for upper floor is honored. I love the big soaking tub with the french window which allows me to watch movies with my husband! The bed is comfortable, four big pillows and warm bedding. The breakfast bar is also a plus. Nice layout, 2 sinks, pass thru soaki tub (not jacuzzi). Almost 200$ a night in middle of week which is too much but average for the area. Ok location, near Walmart, Mall and Texas Roadhouse. Not the best hotel. I'm really big when it comes to customer service, the front desk employees had the worst customer service. Housekeeping were a lot nicer. I reserved my room two months ahead. Paid for and all. She couldn't find my reservation. She offered us $149 a night. I know...not too bad. But I paid, and reserved my nights months ago. When I went and talked to the employee, she seemed really annoyed and pretty much tried to help the next person before finishing with me. Anyways, got it figured out....few hours later. My room smelled awful! As I was getting ready for bed, my sheets had 'fresh' stains. As if they didn't change the sheets at all.... read more

I was in Anchorage on a month long business trip and stayed at Dimond center. Everyone I encountered at the front desk was always very friendly and helpful. That's where the good part ends. I found bed bugs in my room! After I found them I requested a new room. When I asked the girl at the desk for a new room she said it would be no problem, but then when I told her why she said she wasn't supposed to but would do it for my anyway. Why would management tell her not to switch my room?! And on top of that they asked me for proof of the bed bugs so I took a picture. After I switched rooms everything seemed fine but to my surprise I found bed bugs again! This time I took a picture right away since they had a hard time believing me the first time. The girl at the desk was friendly and apologetic but management did nothing! Needless to say I'm pretty disgusted with my stay and warn anyone who's thinking about staying here. read more

Great breakfast (free), comfy beds, hot water, laundry, wifi, fridge and big tv in room. It's not downtown, but it's close to pretty much everything else. If you have a Tour Saver, use it. Housekeeping was mediocre as the multiple hairs I left on purpose in the shower were still there yet the curtain had been moved into the "recently cleaned" position... temp of h20 in shower and bath were not easily controlled and the shower is TINY. (We ended up in a handicap accessible room and the shower had a bench that took up over 1/2 of your space) and the heater in the room was either set to frigid or sweltering. A one degree change on the unit before bed and I woke up covered in sweat. Location isn't the best part of town, I watched someone shooting up in the Walmart parking lot out front while on a walk. Listen, I'm not the most judgmental person..ok..maybe I am, but I have an open mind and what else better can you expect in Alaska when on a work trip? Well to be honest, the breakfast was terrible and the rooms were decorated as if my grandma decorated them in 1975, but then she died and my mom filled the place with cheap particle board furniture in the 80s. Worse yet, the hotel charged my credit card $100, and when I called to find out why, they told me that it was because I had smoked in my room!!!! I don't even smoke!! Sheila (i'll leave her last name out of here), the customer service rep offered no recourse and would not refund the money charged to my card...She didn't even apologize! And still kept accusing me of smoking in the room because the housekeeping lady claimed that the bedding smelled like smoke. Someone on the floor WAS smoking because I smelled it in the hallway, but of course I didn't report it. This was literally the worst experience I''ve ever had at any hotel and I am in hotels every week for work..all different kinds of hotels. Poor customer service...outdated rooms, and seriously??? Stayed 2 nights in August at about $190/night, arrived first night around 1am and the front door was locked, had to push a buzzer to get in, but the front counter guy immediately came to let us in. Checked into our room and the A/C didn't work, called the front desk and they sent a repair guy up which didn't really do anything but told us to wait 20 minutes and if it didn't get cold, to call back... 20 minutes later I went and asked for a new room and was given one. New room worked just fine. The room had a complimentary K-Cup machine and about 4-5 cups provided. The bathroom I found was a bit dimly lit and while in the shower it was a bit hard to see. It also had a huge soaking tub, but never got around to trying it, but looked relaxing. Bed was ok. Entire hotel had free internet access and it worked conveniently. Breakfast is provided free and I have to say I was impressed by the selection (for a free hotel buffet). The buffet had toast, english muffins, blueberry muffins, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, warm biscuits, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, etc. My only complaint is that it ended at 10am, while checkout is at noon. I like to sleep in a bit on vacation and hate eating as soon as I get up. As others have mentioned, its located in a shopping area with wal-mart directly next door and that was my view from hotel window. There is a starbucks, mexican restaurant, McD's, taco bell, etc all within walking distance. Location was about 15 minutes from downtown Anchorage. read more

I am from Alaska, and travel to Anchorage a couple of times a year. I usually rent a VRBO, but when I can't, I stay here. It is always clean, the staff are very responsive and pleasant, and there is a breakfast. It isn't super-fancy, but it is modern and clean. Breakfast is free. read more
