The walkthrough was for the most part pleasant and I liked some of the ideas we discussed. I wanted some bushes removed, to get on routine lawn maintenance schedule and eventually redo my backyard area. He said the maintenance is based on an annual contract so it would be 5K for the year, basically locked in. I was like ok well send me the estimate/contract so I can review and make a decision. He told me he would send in a few days. I thought everything was fine, but randomly on the next Sunday two guys show up to my home unannounced saying they work for Richard. I told them I never received a contract and they said they just wanted to look around my home. I was a little sketched out so I tried calling the company's phone number to verify they worked for Richard, but obviously it being Sunday morning nobody answered. When Richard did return my call the next day, he said he didn't ask them to come that day but did tell them to go to my home. I re-emphasized that I didn't appreciate people showing up unannounced to my new home as I'm still settling into the area. Then he got defensive saying I should get a security system if I don't feel safe, that the area is safe. The house came with one already so again mentioning a security system felt like it was just a way to deflect instead of just apologizing for the mix-up. He said he would still send the estimate on Tuesday.... uhh what?! He never did and I was already not going to move forward after what I felt came off as rude and unprofessional behavior with the way he handled the situation. I don't recommend this company and am happy I got to see this behavior early on before locking into a contract. Poor value and red flags!

Our new flagstone patio is beautiful and exactly what we wanted -- the stonework is perfect. Ballard cleans up all debris and sweeps driveways clean after all the work is done. Ballard gives you a definitive estimate of the cost weeks before the job begins. I keep records of the costs and I have compared it to others. They are very reasonable for the type of work done. I had one "drive by" individual who asked if I needed to take a tree down that had been hit lightning. When I asked the salesperson what his price to remove was, I was given a cost that was 3 times more than what Ballard had given me. So, I think Ballard is in a good price range for what they do. Finally, safety is important. I don't think you want anyone falling from a tree on your property. It can ruin everyones day. The owner, Tim Ballard assured us that his proposed design would address the situation and provided a work warranty for future adjustments. 6 months after installation, we contacted the company and Mr. Ballard directly requesting that he reevaluate the work and make adjustments because the initial problem still existed. 4 months later...and many phone calls, text messages, emails, and conversations with their sophisticated AI secretary, NOTHING has been done.
