Quite frankly there was cilantro in one of the dishes that doesn't normally have it at other restaurants that I've eaten at. The menu didn't mention it contained cilantro. When we brought this up, she said we should have ordered it without. Arguably, we said that we didn't expect it to be in the dish so why would we order it without? You know it's good when you see Asians eating at a dim sum spot. Here is what we ordered. BBQ baked pork buns- my favorite, sweet, flavorful, light bun Egg noodles- second favorite. Noodles with green onions and bean sprouts Pan fried chive cake- pork and cover pan fried dumpling. Good flavor and juicy inside with a crispy outside Chinese broccoli- standard, a Little over cooked in my opinion and lacked the garlic chips Shrimp hargo- just average Salt and pepper calamari- light and crispy batter served with jalapeños. The dim sum is good not great. I think what makes it great to a lot of people are the reasonable prices. Nothing really stood out. We ordered quite a bite of food for two people. Our bill was roughly $80 dollars. When we tried to pay with a credit card, they told us the dine-in business was slow today and they couldn't accept credit cards. WTF???? I am becoming an expert at Dim Sum. An expert at eating it! Okay, the place has a hokey name, granted, don't let that fool you into thinking it's less than quality food. They don't cart. A disappointment, but, it also means a fresher product. The restaurant is small, the menu is smaller. Everything on it was delightful, however. My favourites were the Beef stomach, Chicken feet and the Beef tripe. Much as I would love to recommend the calamari, it's too salty for my liking. You'll probably love it! Dim sumlicious popped up in Chinatown and our friends told us it was worthwhile to stop by. The restaurant is small with about 8 tables and then another larger dining space in the back of the restaurant. Ordering is by marking what you want on a sheet and the items are freshly steamed/prepared and served. The food was really fresh and my fav was the pan fried chive dumpling. We also received really good service and both servers were really nice and ensured our waters and teas were filled and the table was kept tidy. This is definitely not a fine dining type dim sum but more of the hole in the wall. My friend and I had a great dim sum experience here. My favorite dish was the Shrimp Rice Roll - the rice wrap was jiggly and bouncy which is a sign that it was freshly prepared! Dishes can take a while to come out of the kitchen, but that's because everything is made-to-order. Everything was reasonably priced, our bill for two was just $45 (after tax and tip). Note: they do charge for hot tea per person. I don't mind though, since the business appears to be operated by a local family. They have some Chinese tunes playing in the background. Food is okay but the service is horrific ! The young guy with the glasses is really nice and kind. However , the older lady with short hair and glasses was so rude. Our to-go food was done 10 minutes already and she knew we were waiting she just left it on another table with the other to-go stuff. Time went by , she tried to wipe the table we were told to sit at to wait for our stuff. My husband and I took an Uber from the strip. There was a new dim sum restaurant closer to us, but they were charging like $16 for siu mai, only 4 pieces and around the sam amount for har gow. Listen, I am not broke and in college like the last time I came to vegas, but I have principles, and one of them is to.never pay that much for a dim sum dish. It's the principle of it all! We had shredded pork congee, tripe, chicken feet, the wide beef noodle dish with sweet soy sauce that I think is called "look fun", black bean pork riblets , and 2 orders of steamed char siu bao. Omg. Everything was fresh and delicious! My husband said the chicken feet was so tender, it melted in your mouth! The tripe was flavorful, the look fun was soft and the congee was cooked to perfection, it was silky and creamy. The char siu bao was some of the best I have had in years. Small shop in a strip mall. The dim sum is decent. Our favorite is the congee. Our lease favorite is the soy sauce stirred fried noodle. Staff is very friendly. The only thing I will pick on is the shop's cleanliness. Walls, door knobs and floor need some major cleaning from dirt track and grease. One star down as it is no frills; I'm usually a regular at HK Garden but this restaurant really did the trick! Har Gow and Siu Mai was executed perfectly! I trust Yelp a lot less after our experience here. Way over rated. The food here is like a C, yet they have a lot of high ratings. Average taste, nothing special, and no amazing dishes or unusual offerings. The food was OK, some of it had to have been pre made or frozen and reheated. This place is kinda small and a bit sketchy looking from the outside but the dimsum was delicious and the servers were super nice and talkative (except they only spoke Chinese). The selection is smaller than other restaurants and there aren't any dimsum carts, but everything they do have is really good. My favorite thing was the baked salted egg cream bun. It was like a freshly baked pineapple bun, a super soft and pillowy roll with a crunchy sweet topping, filled with a salty and creamy egg yolk mixture which added a nice contrast with the bun. I also loved the bean curd wrap, the beef tripe, and the stuffed eggplant. The bean curd wrap was filled with a bunch of crunchy vegetables and meat and was really delicious. Our group came to experience the dim sum at Dim Sumlicious on a Saturday morning around 9:45 AM PDT. We were pleased to find this smallish, clean, and bright neighborhood Chinese restaurant open before the usual 10 AM or 11 AM opening times of similar Chinese restaurants. I immediately noticed Dim Sumlicious doesn't offer cart service since their restaurant layout seemed to be configured for sit-down service, and their menu appeared to be limited. Secondly, other seated diners were also Asians, so I felt this would be a legitimate and solid place to eat. I'm not knocking this neighborhood restaurant for its sit-down menu service. Still, we're accustomed to having our dim sum served as sort of like a "foodie parade" on wheels that features a savory and sweet variety of Cantonese dumplings, buns, and congees; all served from wheeled carts on small plates designed to encourage sampling and sharing. The female server seemed quite friendly and spoke to us in Cantonese and English when she gave us the menu. The first order was to request hot tea, which we noted is charged per person, unlike Hawai'i, where tea is complimentary. We asked for and got oolong (wūlóngchá or 烏龍茶). Then, a cascade of plates came to our table: Salt & Pepper Calamari or Squid: served piping hot, deep-fried with lovely, light, and flavorful battered crust; some of the squid pieces were, unfortunately, a bit rubbery and greasy. Still, there were many tender and flavor pieces in this serving, which we finished. $8.39 - Har Gow or Ha Gow is considered one of the classic dishes of Cantonese cuisine and is traditionally ordered with siu mai (steamed pork & shrimp dumpling), cha siu bao, and dan tat (egg tart). The wrappers were translucent and thin, with at least ten pleats each. The filling was made up of whole and chunks of shrimp meat. These dumplings are among my favorite dim sum dishes and hit the spot for a neighborhood restaurant. 4/$5.39 - Shumai or Siu Mai is another Cantonese classic. These steamed pork and shrimp dumplings were tender and savory. The open-face pork dumplings' thin wrappers held Its minced, not ground, pork and shrimp filling had a nice "bouncy" mouthfeel when bit into. 4/$5.39 - Baked BBQ Pork Buns: the sugar-coated baked BBQ Pork Buns (cha siu bao) were savory and sweet. Their tender and sweet baked dough encased tasty chunks of Chinese BBQ pork. There were no huge air pockets as the dough surrounded the filling. Was this supposed to be dessert or a tastebud contrast to the savory dim sum? Either way, these cha siu bao were delicious. 3/$5.39 - Phoenix Claws or Chicken Feet: Okay, so people ask, "Why would you eat that?" Although there is hardly any meat on the chicken feet, this bird part contains textures, flavors, health, and cosmetic benefits. Preparing this dish is time-consuming but worth the effort, and knowing that, I'd instead order and eat it at restaurants. Dim Sumlicious' chicken feet were delicious, and if I were eating alone, I could eat this serving myself. $5.39 - Pork Spareribs with Black Bean Sauce: tender pork spareribs with black bean sauce are another savory go-to of ours. Dim Sumlicious' spareribs were tender, but I thought there wasn't much black bean flavor to this dish. Also, the bone shards were pesky to get around these bite-sized pieces. $5.39 - Shrimp Chive Cake?: these shrimp and chive-filled dumplings were prepared and served like potstickers. The bottoms were pan-fried crisp, while the rest of the wrappers were steamed. Their savory shrimp and chive fillings were mouthwatering. 3/$5.39 - Baked Salted Egg Cream Bun: these baked buns were another example of perfect savory and sweet flavor balance. Their brilliant orange salted egg yolk filling oozed out of the puffy, sugared dough bun. The sugaring on the buns' exterior looked similar to the Shanghai-origin pineapple buns. $5.39 - Egg Tarts or Dan Tat: we ended our brunch with this Cantonese classic. The egg custard was silky, eggy-tasting, and not overly sweet in a flaky tart crust. The custard appeared to have a natural yellow from its fresh use of fresh whole eggs. Served warm, these tarts were the perfect finish to our meal. 3/$5.39 Dim sum to us is not just about the food. It is really about spending time with family, uniting with friends and those that you love, and enjoying each others' company.
