No place to sit down, so takeout only. Prices were reasonable and actually, portions are GINORMOUS. I've never seen a har gow as big as the ones we got. We came at around 11AM, no line. Very fast, less than 3 minutes to get our food. 1) Har Gow: 8/10. Skin was on the thicker side but was satisfying. Good with soy sauce. Huge. 2) Siu Mai: 8/10. It was too sticky like. If you've experienced this before then you'll understand what I'm saying. It was still pretty good nevertheless. The #3 Baked BBQ Bun had a very fresh breading. It was very fluffy like a soft pillow. The mixture of the meat and sauce was pretty good. There was some fat inside which may turn off some, but didn't bother me. #5 The BBQ Pork Puff was very crispy and buttery on the outside and it had a nice crunch when biting into it and tasting the delectable pork and sauce. #7 The Har Gow (Shrimp) was pretty good. It wasn't very flavorful, but it was a nice sized portion for a shrimp ball. #8 The Siu Mai (Pork) was not bad, but a bit greasy and salty. Your typical Siu Mai found at a Dim Sum. They use to have picnic tables to eat at, but they are gone which is a bummer. Perhaps it's too cold to eat outside or to keep the homeless away. I have no idea. ‍ Inconvenient for those who live close by and want to eat outside. Overall, I would come back again as I've eaten here several times before. If you have been craving for dim-sums but you have only a few minutes to chow, this is the place to go. You may also call in ahead and put your order in, but make sure that you remember your order number. Menu items include basic dim-sum items such as siu mai, har gow, steamed bbq pork bun, baked bbq pork bun, hom suet got, etc. Some items I like that are missing on the menus are: chicken feet, pork ribs, deep fried taro dumplings etc. to name a few. One thing I like most about this place is that you don't need to speak or read Chinese to order. Take a look at the picture menu with number and put your order by filling up the form. Then submit the form to the order window where you pay in cash only. Once ordered, it may take a few minutes before they call your number to pick up your order at the pickup window. The whole ordering and picking up take place outdoor and the customers may park their car in the back of the restaurant. There is no EV chargers nor restroom available for customers at this place. Also, no ambiance related report here. Price wise this place is very comparable to typical eat-in restaurants and quality is at par as well. Interaction with the server is very minimal. You get the order slip at the right side of the window, you put down how many of each you want, and you give it to the last behind the window. She totals it up and tells you how much and you pay her (cash only). Then, you get a number and wait for your food. Honestly, I love no frill places so this was fantastic for me. The glutinous dumpling and their bbq pork buns (I prefer the dram one) are both great although a bit doughy. I think what's really great about this place is you can order any amount you want (ie. CASH ONLY dim sum spot that I've always visited over the years because of their taste and consistency with quality. Recently came back to get my favorite, their fried pork chop rice, and it literally tastes the exact same as when I first had it all the way back in 2017. Their portions have not changed and it still tastes amazing. Love the addition of garlic and peppers/chilli and it balances out so well with the pork chop and rice. But Dim Sum Express is a hidden gem if you are looking for some good dim sum. I decided to stop by Dim Sum Express this afternoon with my husband and our little girl dog since my husband was getting hangry. We got one of the menus and started marking the items we wanted on the paper (please note that you are purchasing per item and not per set). We ended up purchasing: Chicken rice in lotus leaf wrap, $3.50 prior to tax- I love sticky rice and always love to order this when I am at a dim sum restaurant. The rice was glutenous, sticky and just good. The filling itself was good with seasoned ground chicken. Pork Siu Mai, $1.25 prior to tax- We ordered two of these and thought the amount of pork in the siu mai was a great size. Shrimp Har Gow, $1.45 prior to tax- We ordered two of these but my greedy husband ate both of them :/ so I didn't get a chance to have any (his excuse is that he thought we ordered 3 of these... but if you look at my photos of our order, I think it was pretty clear that we only had 2... and he was the one who filled out the paper). But he really did enjoy both of them. Turnip Cake, $1.50 prior to tax- We only ordered one and I did not eat it yet since I was already getting full after eating the sticky rice I had mentioned above. Steamed BBQ Pork Bun, $1.80 prior to tax- My husband ordered one steamed bun for himself and thought it was really good, especially since it was served nice and hot. Steamed Chicken Bun, $1.80 prior to tax- We got one order for my mom since she loves steamed chicken buns so no one ate this yet. Egg Tart, $1.65 prior to tax- I ordered 2. These were freshly made and brought out of the oven and was warned by the friendly employee behind the glass that they are very hot and to be very careful (which I thought was very kind of the employee to tell us this). Having egg tarts hot and fresh out of the oven really is the best way to have them. After eating the items we purchased (mentioned above), these egg tarts were still pretty hot but were very good. I loved the flakey crust and thought the custard portion of the tarts itself was very good and had the right balance of sweetness and egg flavor. But these egg tarts are pretty tiny. ------------------------------ (Total= $18.94 after tax) Please note that this place is CASH ONLY. After ordering, we waited about 10 minutes for our order to be ready. There are two benches but stacked up upon each other so you really aren't able to eat your order here (although we did but with only myself sitting on the bench and bending myself so that I could fit it and my husband and our little girl standing while they ate). You can either eat in your car if you are really hungry or I suppose take it home with you and wait 'til then to eat your purchase. Service was friendly, quick and the food was excellent. The price is actually not bad. I would love to come back here again and try some of their entrees and more of the dim sum. read more

For fast to-go dim sum, this place is sooo bomb!! I'd say the Shu Mai is better than some other sit-down dim sum restaurants. We got glutinous rice, pineapple bun, shu mai, har gow, bbq steamed + baked bun. The bbq baked bun had a lot of alcohol taste but all the other dishes were super good! Literally, definition of "express" food & service !! My dad told me that he used to eat in this shop when he was still in college. That was 30 years ago and until today, the shop is still here! I came here due to the excellent reviews. I was a bit disappointed as some of my usual favorites like Har Gow and egg custard were only average. My favorite was the sesame ball. It was perfectly crispy and chewy. The filling was not too sweet. Prices of dim sum was higher than I expected for a take out only establishment. The prices on fried rice and chow mein were a steal. I have always passed by this place but never got to try it till recently. It is an express dim sum, so everything is for to-go. I just tried the Shu Mai and the Har Gaw shrimp since I wasn't too hungry and it's a popular dim sum items. It is not the best I have tried but it is decent. It is a good size for each item. The only complaint I had was the Har Gaw. The dumpling skin is too thick and should be thinner. I would come back and try other items in their menu. read more

You walk up to the front window, there are two so make sure you go to the window with the paper menus. Grab a menu and a pencil from the counter and mark your order. Everything has a number. Once you're done give it to them at the window. its CASH ONLY and once you pay they give you a number. Wait for your number to be called at the second window and thats it! Parking is super tiny since its just a walk up window. No where to sit really maybe a picnic table but not a place to bring a large group and hang out. Plan to park on the street or nearby grocery story and walk over. Totally worth the walk up. I haven't waited too long here but if you do just know it will be fresh and huge portions. I've been going to Dim Sum Express since I was a kid and it's still my favorite to-go dim sum to this day! The quality has remained the same and prices are still pretty cheap compared to other places. My go to order consists of their Steamed BBQ Pork Bun, Baked BBQ Pork Bun, Sesame Rice Ball w/ Lotus Paste, Custard Tart, Pot Stickers and Thai Tea drink! Everything is always fresh and steaming hot. They also have fast food items (Various fried rice, Chow meins, Meats and Seafood) if you're looking for more of a lunch. I've never personally tried any of it but I can definitely say their dim sum items are great. They're usually busy when we go on the weekends so I'd suggest calling ahead of time for a pickup order. You just let them know what you want and give your name & phone number so they can have it ready when you get there. Haven't been since pre COVID. Would I go back? Maybe? But wouldn't go out of my way for it. Most items are sold by the piece. Parking is in the back, enter from Garfield side only. When is busy the lot gets full since it's shared so street parking is often easier. Place your order using the order checklist on the counter. Pay, then wait at the other window for your number to be called. If you order Chinese dishes, they are cooked too order and there's only one guy inside cooking so expect to wait for a bit. Dim sum are in streamers so they will come out quick. No more tables or chairs outside but there is a small area with planters surrounding it for a "safe zone" you can stand and eat at. Har gow was plump and tasty. Hom soy gok was very good, super crispy filled with flavor pork. Better than Chef Tony! Sui Mai was very disappointing. More like seasoned ground pork mix only, lacked any fat, so it was on the dry side. I remember it being better...
