If i could I would rate this place 3 1/2 stars, while they had some stand out dishes there were others that were pretty bad. This is only the second dim sum place in Orlando I've tried, but unlike the first one I can recommend this one. I enjoyed the football pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, shrimp and pork siu mai, and the baked bbq roast pork bun. What I love about the siu mai here is how moist and flavorful the pork is! They hand chop the meat so it doesn't have a dry meatball texture like another place I tried. It only comes with three per order but they are pretty big compared to other places. The shrimp in the siu mai and shrimp dumpling was also flavorful good sized. The meat in the bbq roast pork bun was flavorful and I liked the syrup (honey?) topping on the bun. I also enjoyed the chicken feet since it had good flavor and it wasn't soggy. There were two items I tried that I was not a big fan of though....the squid ink shrimp dumplings and the beef steamed rice roll. The beef steamed rice roll is on of my go to items at a dim sum restaurant, but unfortunately the one here was lacking. There was barely any beef inside and there wasn't much flavor. The squid ink shrimp dumpling was just gross. I usually enjoy items with squid ink, but the skin of the dumpling tased like blueberries to me. My boyfriend found it to just tasted sour and off. The filling didn't taste like it just has shrimp and it seemed over minced. No one at the table liked it and it was difficult to convince someone to eat the last piece. The food was delicious! Brought my family here and we agreed that the dough their egg custards were some of the best we've ever tasted! And trust when I say, it's one of my favorite desserts, and I've tasted ALOT OF THEM. The service was wonderful and they even advised when the ribs would take 15 minutes, which my family advised it was okay to skip as it was going to be a part of our second round of food so we just got double desserts instead, where the Sesame balls were yummy as well. The squid ink shrimp dumplings were yummy and new for us as well along with the Chinese broccoli was a great portion, and the rice paste rolls with shrimp was great too. Ambiance was relaxed as we had the whole restaurant to ourselves for lunch. Family thought this was a bad sign but I insisted we stayed and we were all pleased! Prices keep going up, it is now $13 for a simple congee. Most of the dim sum is $5.50 - $6.50, which is pretty steep considering the portion size. Everything is too salty, and I've yet to taste a dish that makes me think "wow that is delicious". Overall, I was kinda disappointed by this place. I'm going to chalk it up and say that some of this might be because when I visited, they had just been open for maybe 1 month. So perhaps they were still working out some kinks. But from the initial experience, service could definitely be improved. Even though we showed up right when the restaurant opened for lunch, it took at least 10 minutes before someone came to sit us at a table. Then it took another 10 to 15 minutes before someone came to ask us what we wanted to drink and give us menus. You would think with not many other customers there, service would be faster, but it wasn't. Then when we started to order, we were told lots of menu items were not available. Of the items that were, most of it was alright. In my opinion, they tended to be a bit overpriced compared to a lot of other dim sum places you could go to in Orlando. Maybe I will give them another try next time since it has been a full 6 months since they have been opened. Perhaps going again will give me a better view of whether things have improved. But for now, this place is alright if you're already in that neighborhood. If you aren't, there are plenty of other dim sum restaurants in Orlando to consider. read more

I have been learned about this place on yelp while nearby the Windermere area and was craving for dim sum, then decided to give it a try. Here is how my experience was. The shop was clean, nice & very great job on decorating. It was very cold, but not strange because low temperature makes people craving for food. Let's talk about the food that we ordered. - Roasted duck tasted right. Crispy skin and not too much fat. - Chicken feet. Way too much oil, didn't come with peanut & couldn't taste any of black bean sauce. - Shrimp dumpling and shrimp & pork siu mai tasted alright. - Custard lava bun tasted good. - Egg tart tasted good, too bad the crust wasn't crispy. - Xiao long bao tasted alright, but they didn't give us any spoons. - Shrimp rice roll was way too mushy & the skin was too thick. Couldn't even pick it up with chopsticks. Rice roll usually very hard to be meshed up so it's actually surprise me. - Duck egg & pork congee was the worst. They provided chopped pork instead of ground pork. This makes me doubt the knowledge of the person who made it. I don't know what words to use to describe its taste other than "disgusting". By the way, the chopped pork was extremely salty, I had to spit it out. About the service, I could tell that I'm not a fan. We were kind of early in the morning (around 10:45, shop opens at 10:30) so of course a lots of things weren't be ready yet which could be understood. There were only 2 tables at the time so to save her (the waitress) trip, I was offering her if I'm be able to tell her what we want so she just has to bring them out. She refused to take order because they do the cart on weekends, and offered me whatever they're available at the moment. I told her I would like to wait because I only want things I want. Yes, I think that you have the right to offer people food, but also as customers, we have the right to refuse. A "No" means "No", don't force. After refusing a lots of items (around 10, 15 mins), another waiter came and told me it's okay to take my order. Okay, I ordered. I wouldn't say he's a bit attitude (he might), but he didn't make anything easier, no smile, unable to answer questions, & took wrong order. Overall, I would never come back and also not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's so uncomfortable to dine in with them. It's almost ruin my day. If someone decides to try dim sum for the first time ever, they might have a wrong view of Chinese food and culture, if they choose this one. read more

We've been eating dim sum for 40+ years, starting with dim sum houses in Boston's Chinatown. When we moved here there were a few decent options but often so crowded that you have to wait 45 minutes. With that said Dim Dim Sum was very good. Everything was freshly made, you could tell specifically with the rice paste wrapper filled with shrimp. It was much wider than you find in Other local which are skinny and narrow, similar to what you find in the freezer section of the Asian market. The Har Gow (shrimp dumplings) are always my favorite and these were on the top list of best, filled with a whole shrimp. The Duck Bao was a deal, two buns loaded with slice duck and yummy. The radish cake was creamy, and I liked that this one didn't have pork in it. We tried the squid ink dumplings. They were okay. Though they said they only had shrimp in it , I think there was a little pork. The wrapper was tasty. The only thing we found weak was the tea. Though it's across town, we may go back again, which is a testament to how much we enjoyed it. Staff was friendly and helpful, they all wore masks. Tables were spread apart enough to feel comfortable. Now they need to open one closer to Winter park. read more

Dim Dim Sum's owner used to own Chan's on Mills 50 and my parents and I used to go there since I was pretty young. When we heard that they fully opened Dim Dim Sum on November 10th, we were happy to hear and excited to try! The interior space is more modern. The staff was a bit slow with their service but I believe it is the lack of individuals/staff. They had carts rolling around but it was very minimal with what they had on the carts. You can also order items off their menu (e.g. noodles, congee) which is also minimal. My personal favorite was the pork siu mai (they also have beef siu mai but I preferred the pork). Dim sum's quality was mediocre and for the prices and the quantity (some had 2 pieces per dish), I would say it is expensive. read more

I really loved this new sum restaurant in the groves of windermere. The ambiance is bright with the waterfall pane and the matching pan ceiling fixture. The service was excellent as I was able to communicate in Mandarin Chinese. It was also a real treat that we also ordered warm sake. It was very smooth to drink as it compliments our dishes. My friend and I ordered first was the duck and pork Congee. This Congee was true Chinese congee with large pieces of pork. That's a plus. Out came it's compliment fried dough which was very crispy. Out then came the roast pork which is a must have when any Chinese restaurant. This was sweet and succulent. To finish the entrees was the Shanghai Soup Dumplings: Xiao Long Bao. Our favorite was the desserts which were the Mexican Custard Buns and the Fried Sesame Balls. The whole experience was fun and the servers were on top of the refills. I've tried this place a few times and so wanted it to be great, as it's very convenient for me. I have ordered off their main entree menu trying Beef & Broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, and Sweet & Sour Pork. The Beef & Broccoli was good, but the other two were bad: almost no meat, over fried, and the little meat inside was very low quality. The pork was almost nonexistent with poor taste and the chicken was fatty, brown, mushy. My kids absolutely love Sweet & Sour but the sauce had some spice that even I was turned off by. Unfortunately, there is a big language barrier so I was unable to successfully share the feedback so we ate the rice and then went to another restaurant for dinner. They were also unable to tell me if any of their meals are gluten-free (my spouse is GF); so she was unable to eat. It is also noteworthy that this restaurant is pretty pricey, especially for the quality, size of meal, and compared to competitors. And there is little Service. For lunch I paid ~$24 for Beef & Broccoli and an iced tea; without tip. Entrees are $19-$38 with no lunch menu for basic Chinese meals with only white rice. There are no options for kids (sized portions, menu) and absolutely zero substitutions are allowed (i.e. I asked for Chicken and Broccoli, and they have Chicken and supposedly make meals "fresh" but was told "no"). read more

New place, so far not impressed with the service or should I say lack of service. They are more worried about fulfilling phone orders and other takeout services than assisting those who have actually gone out of their way to drive to and visit the restaurant in person. The owners need to focus on those that are there in front of you before anything else. I will update with the quality of the Food once it arrives. Was just informed it could be 30 mins for the food. Makes me wish I had gone to Lams Garden Instead where they have a proper dim sum carts being pushed around. Update. They make you pay in advance then the service is terrible. What kind of dim sum restaurant opens without having chili oil which is the mainstay for dipping dim sum. Needless to say I went up and Informed them that they were not ready to be opened and requested a full refund. Took my family here last night. Surprisingly it was only us and 2 other couples eating there. It was cold, damp and breezy evening for FL winter weather. But thankfully so, the staff were so friendly and attentive. We ordered the duck egg & pork congee, squid ink shrimp dumpling, sui mai, shrimp dumpling, deep fried pork dumpling, roasted duck, pork bao bun, sesame balls, pork and chives dumpling and they have soup dumpling! Meat used for the siomai and other Dimsum are prepared properly - flavoured correctly and not ground meat. Texture is correct. Yup no thanks. Went here because my daughter wanted soup dumplings. They were decent. Congee was ok. Tap water tasted like wastewater. My husband's General Tso's chicken was all breading and chewy fat. Totally inedible. When our sever asked how everything was my husband said his dish was horrible and got no response, no offer to exchange the dish. We were charged full price even though my husband left his entire meal over. Oh and two of the servers seemed to hover over us, watching us while we ate, which made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. We will for sure never return! read more
