Customer Service is usually great when I visit Dillard's in oakwood. This time it wasnt, There's a young lady working in the woman's department named Taylor that seems like she wasn't trained properly or was having a bad day. At no time should a customer feel attacked because the associate has an attitude for not knowing store procedures. That's highly unprofessional and highly unacceptable. No matter what you're going through, you shouldn't bring that to work. My wife has been upset since she left the store. read more

Rude and condescending sales clerk, and manager in cosmetics dept. I was treated poorly (manager "didn't like" attitude. I did not have an attitude. Only tried to get her to hear my words., as she refused to listen because " it's not our policy to return if opened." I was publicly humiliated. Accused of "wearing mascara" and attempting to "return it after 6 days!" The product was clearly defective, old, clumpy, and unusable. Horrific! Goodbye Dillards Oakwood! This trip proved to be successful. I can generally find what I'm looking for. Spent time looking around in the other departments today as well. Lots's of fun stuff for Springtime. Staffing seemed scare in the woman's department, but honestly the gal was kinda everywhere at the same time. I picked a few things, tried them on and settled on my first choices. Went downstairs and the pair I had my heart set on were out of my size. Sad face. Nothing else would do. Oh well. I love the shoe department in Dillards. They have the best selection of ladies shoes period IMO. I think of myself as a shoe connoisseur. This is a decent Dillard's, all things considered. Items are pretty well organized, they sell Michael Kors bags and sunglasses, and they have sales pretty regularly. Don't sleep on their shoe department because they have really nice things at pretty good prices. I also like that this store not only has a generous fragrance and beauty department but they have a decent MAC counter. While the MAC counter doesn't have as much as an actual MAC store, it's better than nothing. read more

What can I say. Its a little high end as far as my taste goes, but buying anything here makes me feel refined. This is the place I to go for perfumes, colognes and cool stocking stuffers during Christmas time. Also they have really good sales in the big and tall section (me) all the time, so its nice to wear something besides Wal Mart clothes. My children like passing through here to drool at the MAC makeup and the funny faces some of the make up people make at them as we move past the displays. Mostly because my girls don't walk. They skip. All. the. time. Sometimes I do too. Fun escalators too. I like looking at the Swatch watches and reminiscing about the 80s and wearing Jams. Wait, that was at Country Fair I think, or D.H. I really have had multiple people from multiple departments be on top of their customer service game but I mostly came here to give a good review for your makeup lady Stephanie in the Dior area. She was literally the nicest person ever. She helped me with finding a lipstick I thought I wanted. Then the shade looked nothing like I wanted so I thanked her for her time. She was willing to help me even without buying anything. She even matched my color for my face while I was dealing with a 3 year old (bless her heart). She was so patient with me and that is hard to come by this day in age. Go Stephanie. I will come back and buy something from you! read more

Dillard's has nice clothes, but for as expensive as everything is in there you would think the place would be nicer! Their dressing room was disgusting!!! I've seen better care at places like Ross & Walmart for god sake! Who wants to try on $200 dresses in here?!?! read more

They follow you around like a puppy in the shoe department. I need to shop in peace. If I need help Ill ask. Everytime you think about grabbing a shoe to look at here comes the same lady again to ask me a million questions just cause I looked at a shoe. So, I gotta warn ya, this review might be TMI for some folks...but hey, we are all grown folks here. This review is specifically for the custom fitting services at Dillard's lingerie department. I had heard that Dillards did an amazing job fitting bras. My friend said she went to one but I failed to remember which Dillards she went to, so I headed to the Westbank on a bright Sunday afternoon. I got to the women's lingerie department, and met the lovely Ms Janice. I asked her about custom fitting since I had issues with four-boobs and spillage, thanks to Victoria Secret free measures and fitting that had me wearing the wrong bra size for the last few years. The department was a bit busy but Ms Janice was especially helpful. I mean, I suppose I didn't realize that the custom fitting would involve me undressing in a dressing room with lovely Ms Janice helping me into a bra...I mean, I wish I had lost a few pounds or worn a prettier bra, at least! She reassured me that she had seen it all - bras taped together, falling apart. She was quite delightful AND patient - she brought me bras, taught me how to tuck in all my 'extra', suggested sizing according to fit and made me feel like I was the only customer in the department. I heard a few more ladies come in, and I think there were only 2 ladies working in the department. However, at no time did I feel neglected or ignored. At the end of the day, she got me a great deal on my bras and I even wore one out. I liked my experience; she was very sweet and genuine, and I left with one more bra than I wanted to get but still under budget. Awesome service, this is. Don't walk around with Four-Boob or other bra issues. Go see Ms Janice! It was worth crossing the toll bridge on a Sunday. read more

To be totally honest, this Dillard's is one of the Worst run Dillard's I have ever been to, I should know since I used to work there.

If I could, I would give this location 0 stars. Went shopping with my daughter and I needed to change her diaper. The restroom (single stall) did not have a changing table. Imagine changing an 18 month old with a dirty diaper in a restroom with no changing pad. Never again because I won't be back in that store. read more

Found the perfect dress for a night out and it was marked down! Unfortunately, I had missed the annual New Year's day sale by one day. But still it was a great buy and a perfect fit. Also I had a shirt to return and it was easy as pie. I immediately got the credit to my debit card. The lady that checked me out was very kind and courteous. Dillards is a great place for special occasion dresses at a great price. And the outlet store in the Esplanade has some really great deals. read more

Customer has died some time during the birth of eBay, Amazon & online shopping. Employees want higher wages but don't want to do what is necessary to command those higher wages let alone commission. Just don't think that people in the customer service industry understand that your job is under siege and you are being eliminated one click at a time. The harsh reality is that if there is a app that can do your job then if you don't understand the art of customer service you made need to go back to college and get a trade. But for those who do understand that it's a art to selling and good customer service will set you so far apart from the current work force in the industry that you can net a pretty good salary. Standing behind the counter, hiding in the back till close, just ignoring the customers is some of the behaviors that drove people to shop online. People shouldn't have to chase you to spend hard earned money. Just want me to give it you for doing nothing... Sounds like panhandling to me. But you want a raise. You wonder why people from other countries come to the US and surpass people who have been here for numerous generations. Other factors are at play but for the most part the average employee is lazy, spoiled, falsely entitled, unmotivated and in my opinion a thief. Yes I said Thief... You indirectly steal from your employer by riding the clock and not doing the basic requirements of the job like uhhhhhhhh Saying hello, how can I help you? You help the shop lifters that pillage your store by ignoring everyone that comes in the store with your "They don't pay me enough attitude." Manager of the store you are not innocent in this ether. It starts with culture if establish it then it happens with or without you. So the poor performance of a store and employees is a reflection of the manager. I'm a former manger and every store I ran did well because I was trained by the best and I'd be damn if anyone would out perform me or my store. But maybe you aren't hungry and you too are one of the people I spoke about earlier and you just so happen to gotten promoted to manager. read more
