They tried to link me to the business but after being on hold for a short time said they could not get in touch with anyone. Google Assistant is a computer generated voice so there was no discussion. I think it is ironic that a tech company would not update it status on a search engine. I regret my waste of time.

A very good computer repair company. When trying to boot up one of our Intrex Computers custom…read morebuilt desktop home PCs, the Gigabyte motherboard firmware displayed a "Boot failure detected" message and wouldn't complete the boot. I took a cell phone photo of the screen and printed the image. I then took the printed image to the NerdsToGo store and showed the image to technician Jeffrey. Clearly Jeffrey was/is very knowledgeable about PCs. After viewing the image, Jeffrey indicated that this problem sometimes occurs because of brief on/off cycles in the power grid (which do occur in Cary). He suggested that, in response to the "failure detected" message I simply press the ENTER key on the keyboard to allow the boot to proceed to completion. When I returned home this did indeed work (after I replaced our wireless keyboard with a wired keyboard). Thanks to Jeffrey's suggestion, I was able to fix the PC without having to bring it to the NerdsToGo store. Jeffrey did not charge me for his suggestion. Thank you Jeffrey for your help. Thats honorable. Being on a time crunch, I brought my laptop in and by days end he confirmed what was suspected. He said he could order the part and the total cost would be for the motherboard (was 209.99) and the cost to replace and test it (99.00). I agreed and he ordered it. The part was shipped from Florida. He immediately ordered it, which was at the end of day on Friday. Unfortunately, that part wasn't shipped until the following Wednesday or Thursday which delayed fixing it and resulted in him having to ship it to me and a $32 charge for shipping. Duting the installation of the new motherboard he told me Windows needed updating and there was an issue updating it. I told him I had an issue updating it. He fixed whatever that issue was and successfully updated it. I got the laptop and it shipped with a thick bubblewrapping. It started up but unfortunately, the touch screen wasnt working. We tried troubleshooting over the phone, but it didnt work. Luckily I was headed back in a couple of weeks during Labor day. On Labor Day, I brought the laptop back in and dropped it off. A few hours later, I picked it up with the issue was resolved. It was a loose connection (or not completely connected). He apologized (HUGE). Positives: Free diagnostics. Actual knowledge and not just a "tech". AMAZING communication (text and email). Price. Location. Easy, free parking. Accountability. Negative: Had to bring the laptop back. Considering everything, I would absolutely, 100% recommend them. Any future issues with laptops or other tech, they're my first call. Yeah, bringing my laptop back sucked. Everybody makes a mistake. What's important is how that's handled. It was handled like a champ.
