Daniel has been so helpful for our family and most importantly for our dogs. We used him years ago with our first dog and are now on our second round with our new puppy. He was flexible with us when she had her spay surgery and even assisted with administering meds when needed and reached out to check on her post-surgery. He has been a great resource for tips & training too. He's dependable, timely and very professional. DANIEL (Diggers Dog Walking) LET OUR 100% INDOOR CAT GET OUTSIDE! Daniel was so inattentive that he did not even realize our cat (Buddy) got out until the following day when Buddy didn't greet him at the door as usual. We had to cut our vacation short by a day and drove all night, 16 hours straight, to get back and search for Buddy. Thankfully, I found Buddy the evening we got back, after he had been outside for three days and two nights. Buddy had never been outside before, and we are very fortunate that we found him. Daniel claims that I didn't warn him that Buddy tries to get outside at every opportunity (I actually was very clear with Daniel about this), but even if I that was the case, an experienced pet sitter should assume that all pets will try to get outside. Daniel stated that he didn't leave the door open for very long when he turned his back taking litter to the trash, as if that should absolve him from any responsibility. To me, this is like putting down a dog's leash and saying "well I hadn't let go for very long". Daniel also tried to deflect blame to us because our INDOOR cat does not wear a collar. (He is microchipped as a precaution.) Daniel also invoiced us for two days in a row that he did not stop at our house, which we were able to determine by looking at our video doorbell history. He did not inform us that he failed to look in on our pets on those days, and provided a refund only after I brought it up. He also refused to refund the day he let our cat escape, claiming the days he actually did show up he did good work. Although I'd say a professional pet caretaker letting a pet escape is an indicator of poor work quality. Altogether this was a terrible pet sitting experience. We are happy to have Buddy back inside and safe, but we really regret having used Daniel's services. He provided assistance in the search for our cat and seemed to think this made up for his carelessness. Instead of helping us search, we would much rather he had not let the cat outside in the first place. That's probably the most basic rule for a pet sitter: Don't lose the pet. read more

I do dog and housesitting around Minneapolis & St Paul. Daniel was hired to walk my client's dog when I was not able too and the client said it was the worse experience EVER! Their words were " Complete Nightmare!" Daniel did not know the schedule that they agreed upon the day before and called the client a bitch....and the dog stupid. After being fired by the client, he gave back the money...but began harrassing them via phone and text. He then claimed he was fired because he was gay....PLEASE....I AM GAY and have been their dogsitter for 8 years! He has now summons them to court making false claims. He sounds like he lacks professionalism and I would never suggest anyone using him or his services. You and your pets deserve better treatment!! read more

To be totally candid I am a VERY overly protective Dog Mama. I am one of those people who orders two small whipped creams at the Starbucks drive through so each of my little chunk monsters can have a treat too. Needless to say finding a dog walker/sitter when we moved to Minneapolis caused me some anxiety. ( Ok, a lot of anxiety, I wanted a full background check, drug screen, and fingerprints) Then we met Daniel! I have to say Daniel is our life saver! We have two fat Bulldogs and one can be a real handful when it comes to new people and social events, but she LOVES Daniel. He is calm and sweet, and our dogs respond to him so well. We don't feel nervous or worried at all when we are away. He sends updates, and since our girls aren't big on long walks sometimes he'll just hang with them and snuggle for a bit before he heads out. Surprised there is no rating up here already. Daniel delivers his services exactly as described. He'll meet with you and your dog(s) to make sure there is a compatibility. He has a pretty wide range of services available, at a few different/reasonable price points (it gets more affordable with more dogs sharing his services). And best of all... he shows up when he's supposed to, does the work he's been asked to and leaves helpful notes at the end of every walk. I have a socially awkward dog. She's in to her owners and not other people or dogs. But she loves Daniel, and has been affectionate with him since her first meeting. That's a rare feat for a dog walker to pull off. Daniel is great with your dogs. He was a dog walker for our puppy from 10 weeks of age and did wonderful things to help her grow up - extra training, treats when she was recovering from an injury and general obedience. We counted on him to do daily walks and even had him bring the dog to our recent wedding for photos. He recently contacted us to act as a reference for him, which we agreed to do. That is, up until today. Today we learned Daniel is an irrational business man. We recently brought a new puppy in to our home. As two working adults, we needed help to manage the early puppyhood days and asked for his assistance. While Daniel was more than willing to do so, he became extremely agitated when we questioned his pricing model ($34 per visit ; $17 for a 15 minute visit with the puppy and $17 for a 15 minute walk with our 1 year old). He explained the puppy visit might be longer, and we sent an email stating we agreed to his terms. Within hours, Daniel sent an abrupt informing us (direct quote) " Game over. Your keys will be at the post office and returned via certified mail in the morning" Unfortunately, I happened to be travelling and didn't see his note until later during the day so was completely unaware of this irrational act.. As a result, my puppy unexpectedly ended up spent many hours in the kennel alone without any service. Needless to say that after being a loyal customer for over a year, with 3+ walks per week and spending thousands on his service, we were floored. The conclusion is that yes, he's a good dog person. Just don't ask questions or your service will be terminated. read more

He gave us ideas for breaking her strong bond with me so she could be quiet at night, more independent and self-sufficient. My husband and I could not have done it without help.
