If you want to experience the Irish Midlands this is the place to go; both my wife and I travel and we try and avoid the touristy areas, preferring instead to spend our time meeting new people, and this trip provided that. Being American, I seldom get to have a good talk about football, but Pat was happy to oblige here. He's also made sure that every time I see Archie Gray take the pitch I will think of Weirs.

Now when I say pizza and pasta, please don't think I mean the usual pepperoni pizza and pasta with tomato sauce (although those have their time and place too). Oh, no. Oh, no no no no no. The pizzas and pastas in Coast are (as that old buffer Michael Winner would say) historic. The pizzas are made on a kind of flat bread which is their own recipe and I could eat it plain without a topping it's so good. But not to look odd, I do the right thing and order toppings like everyone else. Again the toppings are unusual are so so good. My favourite is chilli beef and onions. You get loads of lean beautifully marinated beef - my mouth is watering at the very thought. - and at under £6, this is outstanding value. You can throw on extras like rocket, chorizo, pancetta and sun blush tomatoes. Trust me, you have never had pizza this good. Pasta is an equally good choice - the chorizo carbonara is fab. Order a side of garlic bread, let out your belt and surrender to it. The tobacco onions are unmissable too - long strings of onions coated in something delish and deep fried. Coast is very child friendly and can be noisy in the early evenings so you may want to take advantage of the take away service - make sure you ring ahead with your order.

We hadn't planned on going here as we had intended to try Melissa O' Hare's food truck offerings that were the same offerings a week ago on our first sojourn. She had parked up within a glamping style place with a stunning view of Camlough lake. It was a dull cool overcast grey day. We speculated that Melissa wouldn't be too busy. Wrong as the line was huge. We guessed we'd queue at least an hour but we aren't prepared to queue five minutes especially in this climate of 9 winter months, two autumn months and maybe one summer month. So we ended up here. All four of us loved our food here. I had delicious fish tacos (£16 with a choice of side). The fish was cod in a light batter with fresh lime, coriander, fresh chilli. My first choice of scampi wasn't available. I opted for a chunky chips side to share around as I didn't want them. While 5 star grub it's too expensive for what it is but was the only dish overpriced. I noted from the menu that a fillet steak with fixings is now £40. The desserts (all £6.5) were scrumptious and fair priced - I had raspberry ruffle baked Alaska and a flat white (£3). Cosy place. The staff are wonderful too. Hope we return soon.

Quite traditional with a tasteful modern twist. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had our 10 month old son, who was being a bit boisterous, so they asked if there was anything they could get him. They brought out a side dish as quickly as they could to ensure he could be fed and settled. I ordered the scrummy prawns and crab claws to start, followed by the tasty duck - delicious fresh ingredients. The music playing was just what I have on my ipod i.e Ben Howard, so whoever choose the playlist has great musical taste!) Lovely homely atmosphere. The bar was understandably very busy and there was a few people waiting for our table, which put me off ordering a sweet. I can understand the demand, but notice of how long we had the table for would have been appreciated. This would not put me off returning to the Bull & Claw for great food, lovely restaurant!
