The store is untidy, understocked and the restroom was in poor condition. I had trouble with merchandise that was out of stock in the snacks, in the deli area and in the aisle of bottled water. Dismal. The parking lot was tidy and clean with no litter. The cart corrals were surprisingly not full of carts. I'd give this one a pass next time. Today, My father experienced a dental surgery where all of his teeth were removed. We ordered some items and we went to pick them up after the surgery was completed and we picked up my dad. We noticed that we forgot to order something so my mom ran into the store to get it. The woman who was supposed to give us our groceries approached my window. I was seated in the Backseat behind the driver, and my dad was seated in the passenger seat. She started peering into the window of our vehicle because i didn't notice her, which i was a little bit weirded out by this, but it wasn't a big deal. When i noticed her, i rolled down my window, and she asked for my order information. but instead of talking to me, she completely ignored me and started talking to my dad. Despite the fact that he was in no condition to be talking, and she wouldn't even let me get a word in to tell her that he probably wasn't supposed to be talking because of his surgery. She then proceeded to have my dad get out of the vehicle and load our groceries into the vehicle himself. In her defense, she asked him if he wanted to load them into the car, but she worded it in a way like it was his only choice. Also my paper bag ripped because they decided to bag a gallon of milk and a gallon of turkey hill iced tea in a single paper bag. This caused the portion of the bag that ripped off to fall out of my hands and onto the floor which caused the iced tea to spill everywhere. Honestly i'm not looking for any compensation or warning anyone because the service inside is usually pretty decent, i'm just trying to let out my anger. Thank you so much for reading this review.

And for the past 15 years while in Salisbury to visit my father I've found it difficult to escape "family" chain restaurants or touristy Eastern Shore fake "authentic" seafood shacks. Until this visit when I was clued in on the soul food counter in the back of Friendly Food Store. A daily menu offering 6 or 7 southern delicacies, home cooked by the charming woman behind the counter. A choice of yummy sides. And all for exactly the price you'd expect to pay for quality homemade food. So far I've had the Goat Curry, Chicken & Slippery Dumplings, Beef Stew, Turkey Wings, and Chitterlings (and watched people swoon over the turkey neck bones). Oh, and rumor has it that they do a wicked good muskrat when they're in season. It is a take out place - they have tables and a TV, but it's like eating in a bus station - so get your delicious meal and take it to a park.

The staff was friendly and helped me find a jar of salted shrimp that I needed to make kimchi (they had premade kimchi but I like making my own). They had beautiful fresh garlic chives and Napa cabbage, too. Found some frozen dumpling wrappers and other things I was missing in my pantry as well. The prices are quite high, though. To be fair, I'm used to the huge Asian markets in New Jersey so in comparison, these prices were almost double. Still, I was happy to find what I needed and everything is fresh and clean.

Went in the story today for 1 item. Went up front to checkout to find they only had 1 lane up with…read moreself checkout closed. The lane was backed up to in the clothing aisle and took notice of customer service having 2 people. When I was greeted by the associate they asked politely if I was returning, which I replied with no just wanna check this one out. She gave me a blank stare. I stated I didn't want to wait in that long line for one item. She went on about saying that if that's something they did then everyone would do it. I told her I worked customer service for 5 years and we had to check people out. Granite it was a different business, one that actually provided real customer service. Like if you would have checked me out I would have been gone already but instead you are choosing to argue and making it difficult. Not like I showed up with a cart. Time on receipt was 08:27:19
