Anytime you go here the bathrooms are closed. Love the prices but after racing here right after work it's a huge waste of time.

It's easy to shop here and the store brand prices are good. Cashier's are friendly and conversational.

I can't stop coming back to Parsons Farms! Every time I visit, the bakery section lures me in;…read moreeverything looks so good that it's hard not to walk out with a bag full of treats. On this visit, I tried the Blueberry Banana Smoothie and the Turkey Sandwich at their cafe. The smoothie was incredible, vibrant purple, perfectly thick. The turkey sandwich was equally impressive; the bread was toasted to a perfect golden brown, and the balance of the melted cheese and sauce made for a great brunch. Beyond the cafe, it's the perfect spot to grab some fresh fruits and baked goods for home. Definitely a local gem!

We stopped in for peaches over the summer but left with nothing. There were lots of options, but…read moremany of the things we could find at a grocery store with better prices and potentially better quality. The peaches were hard which was a disapointment. We were hoping to find peaches that were more ripe because they were local. We found about two peaches that were a little softer but they had no smell. I was suprised that there were so few local items. If I wanted goods made in PA, I'd go to PA. I asked which produce items were local and it sounded like almost none of them. You can get baked goods, produce, bottled and jarred items like pickes, candy, meats, and "homemade" deli items. There were plants for purchase, some outdoor furniture, and a cafe. The best part of the place ended up being the animals. We fed some goats and took a phot with the large bull statue. I think this would be a great place to bring kids to see the animals. I don't think it's worth the drive if you're staying on the coast because it's mostly grocery store quality produce and items you can get for less elsewhere. But, if you need something to do with kids and you're close by, it's worth a stop.

Groundworks offered a variety of affordable packages that fits any household or lifestyle. Overall we are very satisfied with the quality of food and variety of produce. Since the switch we have saved hundreds of dollars off our monthly grocery bill. We enjoy the fact that the food we are receiving and consuming is fresh and local. Winter share options are around the corner and if you sign up before the deadline you get 10% off. Note the shares are available year-round and the CSA Farm Share Distribution Locations: Alexandria VA, Arlington VA, Pittsville MD, Annapolis MD.

Groundworks Farm is the best! I've had a share (both summer and winter) since they came to the…read morearea from Vermont, and have never been disappointed. Each week's vegetable share has a great variety of produce, and everything is much better (and much better priced) than equivalents from the grocery store. There are meat, chicken, egg and cheese shares available as well. Everything they sell is raised in a healthy, sustainable and ethical way. Each week the farm sends out an update with extras available at that week's pickup--like fruit (peaches and berries in the summer, apples in the fall), milk, fair trade coffee, and other local products. The weekly emails also include recipes with suggestions for how to use less familiar ingredients. Two years ago I'd never tasted kohlrabi, now it is one of my favorite vegetables. In addition the incredible food, the pickups (I attend the Alexandria pickup) are like a weekly party...there are always free cookies, and members often stick around to chat. Margaret and the other farmer staff members are always helpful and friendly.
