My 2008 chrysler pacifica broke down. I called A plus transmissions and informed David the symptoms of my vehicle. With no hesitation, David actually listened to me and gave me a breakdown of what his thoughts where about my vehicle. I felt confident enough to allow him to send a wrecker to my home and pick up the vehicle. Once my vehicle was in his shop, David and his team inspected my vehicle. What happened next was what I thought a thing of the past. The open line of comunication between David and I. David took his time and clearly gave me a break down of what exactly failed on my transmission. This guy was informative and spoke to me like a person. I have to say that to say this. Most shops talk to you as if your another fellow technician with the terminology and lingo that only other techs would understand. Usually when you question a tech that has very little knowledge, they become irratated and attempt to make you feel as if your questions are silly. I informed David that I wanted to come by his shop to take a look at the vehicle. When I arrived, David showed me every single internal part that failed. I have to say, this isn't a shoot in the dark parts changer hope it works kind of guy. David was able to determine every specific component part that needed to be replaced. This is a very important factor on what's really needed, because it allows you to pay for what is needed. Nothing more nothing less. Their was no suprises in what the charge was going to be. Was told that I would have to pay $800+ just to leave it with them but as long as they fixed the clunk for that amount I would be happy. When they called me the next day they gave me a pitch about the cost of Lexus parts and that there were codes indicating that the transmission and rear differential needed "servicing". They then told me the cost would be $8700 and I was shocked and asked if I could come pick up the car and they said they would have to put it all back together. I then asked if this would fix the "clunk" and he said he would guarantee it. On May 23 I paid the invoice and as soon as we drove it off, the "clunk" was still there....I returned the car on May 26 and now it is June 1st and the car is still at the shop still broken. So what they worked on did not fix the problem, should I have to pay for it? Do repair shop have carte blanche to say anything with a code needs overhauling?

A week later they called me and said the transmission needed to be rebuild and would cost $2,700 to rebuild. I told them to proceed because I needed the truck. They had my truck for two months and I heard nothing from them. I called multiples times with no answer. We went back to the shop and end up been they had not put a finger on it. they didn't even know the truck was there. I took my truck back, what a waste of time. I then even though it was further I called David at AAMCO Transmission on red bluff in Pasadena,Tx . He was so wonderful they have a great team there. David was very respectful and made sure it was done correctly not just to get it running and send me off. They delivered my car in a timely manner and communicate step by step of the proccess that was taking place. They gave me the option to approve everything before doing the work and just giving me a hugh bill blind sided. I am very pleased with David his team and his wrecker service. I have never gotten an update on what is wrong with my van. Yes, something is wrong with the transmission... but what? Absolutely the worst communication with a car repair shop that I've ever experienced. I posted my call log and txt mssg history as proof. June 10th (date of this review) I called to get an update. Was told to hold, was disconnected, and was ultimately told they'd call me back. I said I was coming to get it and take it someplace else and was told I couldn't. Then I was advised that the transmission has been taken to a different shop because they didn't have a mechanic there. "TRANSMISSIONS" is part of their name, I wasn't told they didn't have a mechanic there that could rebuild a transmission. I feel that both David and Raheem strung me along for the past 3 weeks.... both had said it would be done "Wednesday"... three Wednesdays later and I STILL don't have my van or even know for sure what failed with the transmission. I'm furious and I don't appreciate the hostility that David projected on to me when I asked for answers. As it stands, they'll call me Friday.‍‍‍‍
