He just wouldn't stop talking about the squat he's wanting to put on his truck. I got a flat tire and by chance pulled into their parking lot to change the tire out. Ohh and of course it's raining. As I'm pulling my spare out of the back a gentlemen approaches me and offers to handle it. He drove my car into the garage and him and another gentlemen used their tools and switched out the tire immediately. I was top priority. I offered to pay for the service and they politely declined. They were both so kind and it meant so much to me. I didn't get their names but if they did that service for me and I wasn't even a customer then I can't imagine how much more they put into their customers and services. I had my 2006 F150 transmission rebuilt at 211,000 miles. Started having tranny problems again at 235k miles. 1 year 20k mile warranty is no good now. Obviously some sorry services if they aren't capable of providing a 2 year 50k mile warranty. What transmission only lasts 24k miles? That's a joke! I had good expectations of the quality of the service and had also experienced excellent customer service. The customer service doesn't change the fact that the transmission has to be fixed again soon not even 30k miles after spending $2500 getting it fixed. Taking it somewhere else and not ever referring business to this company. read more

I brought my manual transmission 08' Mustang GT Bullitt Edition to these guys. It had only 19k miles (car is otherwise like new) and was suffering from the classic synchro problem, causing grinding when shifting into third. Ford dealer quoted me $4,200 for a rebuilt transmission. The guys at A+ in Pasadena quoted and then charged me $1,600 to rebuild the existing transmission. They fixed it. Rusty did the work. The transmission is now PERFECT. I'm as grateful for, as I am surprised by, the quality of the work. If you need your manual transmission fixed correctly, this is the place to bring it. read more

Brought my car. Charged me 3800 for transmission to be rebuilt. Literally has only been 5,000 miles and I already have a gearbox fault and my tranny is acting up again. Luckily it hasn't been 12,000 or they woulda really got me. Taking it back tomorrow and we'll see how they go about resolving this issue read more

Pasadena location. Wow. David and his team of technicians has truly given me a new meaning to great customer service. These guys are true veterans in their feild with knowledge of mechanics. My 2008 chrysler pacifica broke down. I called A plus transmissions and informed David the symptoms of my vehicle. With no hesitation, David actually listened to me and gave me a breakdown of what his thoughts where about my vehicle. I felt confident enough to allow him to send a wrecker to my home and pick up the vehicle. Once my vehicle was in his shop, David and his team inspected my vehicle. What happened next was what I thought a thing of the past. The open line of comunication between David and I. David took his time and clearly gave me a break down of what exactly failed on my transmission. This guy was informative and spoke to me like a person. I have to say that to say this. Most shops talk to you as if your another fellow technician with the terminology and lingo that only other techs would understand. Usually when you question a tech that has very little knowledge, they become irratated and attempt to make you feel as if your questions are silly. I informed David that I wanted to come by his shop to take a look at the vehicle. When I arrived, David showed me every single internal part that failed. I have to say, this isn't a shoot in the dark parts changer hope it works kind of guy. David was able to determine every specific component part that needed to be replaced. This is a very important factor on what's really needed, because it allows you to pay for what is needed. Nothing more nothing less. Their was no suprises in what the charge was going to be. This shop, the owner, and it's mechanics are truly A+!!! David took the time to show me what was wrong with my transmission, 140,000 miles (closed). As a female, I appreciated that respect and the lesson - I did learn something new! My car was repaired, he reimbursed me for my rental, checked it after the initial two weeks period for quality control, and now I know how to care for it in the future with a visit next year - again for quality control.
