Not spectacular, especially for the price. Main course is slightly better than the starters.

After traveling around Switzerland for a week, it got to that point in the trip where we…read moredesperately needed Asian food. We were passing through Düsseldorf for half a day and saw they're known for their Japanese food, so we decided to check out Takumi! They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. AJITAMA TONKOTSU RAMEN: I'm a tonkotsu person and almost always order this over other types of ramen. Not sure if I was just so severely deprived of Asian food, but I felt Takumi's tonkotsu ramen ranked pretty high on my list! And coming from SoCal as well as having lived down the street from both major Japanese food hubs in Los Angeles, that's saying a lot! Good amount of pork, the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, and the broth was rich without being overly salty. I don't usually enjoy other types of ramen so I can't speak for those items from their menu. But I slurped my entire bowl of tonkotsu ramen dry! KARAAGE: Large pieces with crispy exterior and super juicy interiors! I wasn't expecting much but in the end I was super happy we ordered this. Overall, amazing tonkotsu ramen located in Düsseldorf's Little Tokyo.

I tried the Special Miso Ramen at Takumi 1st in Dusseldorf recently. We had eaten dinner not…read moretoo long ago so I really struggled to finish the whole thing, but it was so good I tried so hard to stuff myself. The pita is packed to the brim and I have no idea how people eat it with their hands. I tried at first, but so much of the filling fell out that I ended up just grabbing a fork to make things easier. Overall, highly recommend for some delicious quick bites. Limited seating though if you're a larger group and I think it'd be hard to eat on the go.

We had a late night craving for some Doner, and one of our friends found this spot nearby. Limited seating area outside, and the inside is just a walkway for you to order your food. You can see the spinning skewer of meat, as they freshly shave off some for each customer. I shared a single order with my fiance and WOW it was a lot of food!!! They really stack up your plate with a ton of meat, veggies and toppings! The flavors all melded together so well, and although we were eating for quite a while, it seemed like the food was never ending! I'm happy that's what it was like, as the food was delicious! If I had more stomach space, or if this was earlier in the day, I would have definitely loved my own order!
