I am extremely disappointed with how the OG Anunoby event at Dick's Sporting Goods Ridge Hill was handled today. Many of us waited in line for over 5 hours after being told that those waiting outside would be given an opportunity to enter. Instead, people who were not in line were allowed in, cut ahead of loyal fans, and were able to take photos with OG while many of us who had waited all day were left out. The lack of organization, crowd control, and a fair system was incredibly frustrating. To make matters worse, the event was cut short, leaving many disappointed fans--especially children who had spent hours waiting--without the chance to meet him. Fans invested their time and trusted the process. Today, that trust was not rewarded. Dick's Sporting Goods could and should have done a much better job planning and managing this event. read more

Sometimes they are the only place to go, which is unfortunate. The associates have no clue where their own products are, don't know what they have in stock, and that's only when you can actually find someone working there. Thats right today is the day they decided they don't give a F about veterans or military personnel and denied me my military discount right before Christmas Eve. Absolutely the worst customer service. I came in contact with 5 employees and they all looked miserable. not ONE had a smile on their face, greeted me or asked if I needed help. I wanted to buy a gift card so I went to the register with one girl behind the counter and stood there for 5 minutes. She didn't say one word to me! Then the black male manager came over and watched the employee do something but also did not acknowledge me. Just stood there with a puss on his face. Finally, after hearing me ask ANOTHER employee if he can sell me a gift card, which he said no I might add, they finally called another employee over who came looking down the whole time. This is a big store with a good selection of merchandise that's reasonably priced. However, the employees here a a far cry from friendly or helpful. In fact, they are snippy and short and if you're brave enough to dare ask for assistance, you are typically meet with an ignorant, borderline hostile reply. I only go to dicks for one thing and it's the fishing section. it's not to small and has a lot of options but it's all mess up and all over the place, some items arent in the right spots. the live bait area is even worse. the shelf for some bait is covered in goo and it's disgusting you can see in the floor where the liquids drip down and where they made the attempt to clean it . read more

Poor and rude Manager's customer service, Barry Jones. I bought three bikes and none work, Barry the "manager" told me no returns at all. I explained that the bikes dont work but he said its the policy. I asked him why wasnt I told this prior from purchase and he said: " I dont know"...I asked him ehat where my options and he just walked away and told the sales rep to help another customer. Wow. *This review only reflects the gentleman who worked in the golf department on 7/8/19 around 5pm. In the market for a new wedge (Cleveland Mack Daddy $150) but was told I could not use the simulator. He told me wedges were not allowed. On other occasions I have used the simulator with wedges at this store and also at other stores with wedges. This gentleman also was difficult to find and did not offer assistance to the numerous people looking at golf shoes. I ended up buying the wedge bc it was in stock and luckily I've tried it out before but had it been my first experience I would've left without it. read more

Peter was super helpful and helped us outfit our kid for tee ball! Most people has masks, just one customer was using it as a chin wrap but otherwise I felt very comfortable. This Dick's was a super original to the Ridge Hill Complex and still is! Before there were many stores and restaurants here, it was pretty much just the movies, Dick's, and H&M! Glad to see they're sticking it out. Rarely ever busy, it doesn't seem like they are really reeling in the business. There is also a Subway about to be built right next to it, so perhaps the sandwich eaters will want to buy sporting goods afterwards. The employees are very nice and willing to help; the place is enormous and has its very own public restroom. Know that if you have to go and aren't sure what to do next!! That often happens to me. Sports goods galore, there isn't much you can't find here. That is unless you want underwear. They don't have that (cough cough Modells does cough cough). Other than that it's just a Dick's. The store has a lot of selection, the problem is that the merchandise is all mixed up, never in the place it should be and the store employees are totally clueless, not at all helpful and some disrespectful. I went to the store to buy my wife waterproof pants, 3 pairs of her size and brand were confirmed online. I asked for help, but the clerk had no idea where to look, so I tried to help her. After 3 minutes of searching, she told me the pants were sold out and left me. I continued to search and found the pants (2 pair) in another area. I came back a few days later to look for pants for myself. Same issue, a friendly employee offered to help but also had no idea where to look. I found women's pants in the men's section, pulled them out and told him he may want to put them back in the women's section, he thanked me while I wandered off to look some more and got 3 pairs of pants. He disappeared and left the women's pants hanging where I left them. I proceeded to the fitting room to try the pants. 1. Sales rep was attentive, but was unable to problem solve. 2. Despite having a way to check "inventory" on each store through their system, results were very inconsistent. I was looking for a hiking boot in a youth size. I called ahead and a rep was able to confirm that they not only have my size, but also smaller ones which I was happy to hear since hiking boots run large. I went and could not find the product so I asked for help. The lady could not help so she called for someone else. A sales rep eventually came but he didn't approach me for a full minute, even though it was clear that I was just trying to keep myself busy until someone came to assist. With deductive thinking we found the shoe together but it was not my size. I mentioned that I had called ahead and was told they had many sizes in the range I needed. He was unable to provide further assistance on his own from that point - did not offer to check in the back, talk to the person who might have taken my call, or look for alternative locations. Eventually I asked for all of the above to be done in that order. I then called White Plains store because the sales rep at Yonker's confirmed they had my size there. They took 14mins via phone to finally let me know that they do not carry any youth hiking boots except one in a diff brand. How can Dick's be so disorganized? Or their inventory checklist is really a joke. I asked if someone could validate my parking since I came all the way from the city to try to purchase an item which was not available, despite being told it was on the phone. They did not try to accommodate or show any sincerity. So I paid the $3 for parking and went to REI where customer service proved to be much better. read more

The store is well stocked with equipment and apparel for all sports. The store itself is huge and maintained. I have had difficulty finding workers when I needed questions answered. Also the return line is in one end of the store. If you have to return something get ready to walk across the whole store. Parking is good and they validate. read more

I like Dick's in general. They carry a lot of products, and the store is super neat and clean, which gets points from me. Howeva. The last thing I bought in here was a pair of Nike shorts. The price was clearly marked on the shorts: $22. This was the Nike sticker price, there was no Dick's sticker. They rang up at $24. I pointed this out to the cashier, who explained to me that it was not a mistake, that while Nike suggests a price of $22, Dick's was selling them for $24. Whoa. Now, I know how the MSRP works, but when have you ever seen a retailer bump the price up* instead of knocking it down or holding the line? I explained that I was going to pay only $22 for the shorts, and that if he couldn't make them $22, then I would like to see a manager or whoever could help me with the change. The manager rung them up for $22 no problem, acting like it was a crazy mistake, but based on what the employee told me, I think it's common. If you were a soccer mom in there outfitting 2 kids, it would be easy to lose track of a dollar price difference here and there. Not cool. I like the employees, who are helpful, and i like the store, which is attractive and packs a huge variety. I have avoided spending money in here since, but if it happens again, I'm knocking this down to a 2 star review. I would encourage people to stop in here, it is a nice store. Just don't get Dick'ed. Could be my single worst experience at a retail store, ever. The place is a mess. It's virtually impossible to find any sales help and when you do they're either completely uninformed to flat out rude. The final insult is if you can actually find the item you're looking for there's only one cashier. Even though there was only one other person ahead of me the person who was paying at that single cashier she was having a problem so we had to wait 15 minutes ... all the while two "associates" were chatting among themselves while we waited and waited. Oh and btw, this isn't too different than the experience I've had at other Dicks locations. Within a few minutes, a group of 3 youths were walking around the store without masks, they were loud so the staff did spot them, but nothing was said to them. We've shopped in the store several times before today. I've purchased my son's soccer flats and cleats, soccer balls, accessories, and other items. We have always been happy with the selection, service, and prices. But today the staff really outdid themselves. We went in to purchase a large item that we saw in another store, upstate. We were disappointed that this store was out of the item (a punching bag of sorts) however I was amazed at how helpful "Joe" was. He called several other stores, explaining that they could get it shipped to the yonkers store. Unfortunately every store was out! However Joe patiently explained the different options, and finally encouraged us to simply call back whenever we wished to see if it is in stock yet.
