My usual brand of sneakers weren't working for me anymore. So instead of buying something new on Amazon, I figured I'd stop in Dick's and try on different brands. (The old school way). Dick's had such a wide variety of brands. Customer service in the sneaker department was excellent. All the sales people were very helpful. A shout out goes to Laisha. She was absolutely wonderful and patient bringing out different sizes and styles. Ended up purchasing a pair of New Balance sneakers. Not one of the biggest Dicks I have seen however they have the basics. I primarily shop golf so they frequently have sales on golf equipment and clothes. Line moves fairly fast. Parking is sometimes a problem since the lot is shared with 6 other businesses. read more

This is a pretty solid Dick's Sporting Goods Store over here in Wayne. With two floors of shopping space and sales inventory it might just be the largest of it's kind in the area. Talking about Outdoor Gear, Hunting, Fishing, Grilling, Camping, Apparel, Footwear, Gym Equipment, Coolers, and Team Sports Stuff they basically have it all at under one roof.     I found everything I was looking for and a whole lot more, plus prices here were pretty reasonable too so that was cool. She refunded the sharpening costs back to my credit card, got the sharpening machine fixed in the store and hopefully, admonished the salesperson who fed me a line of crap about how they weren't going to fix the machine. read more

I have to leave an awesome review. Came in within 15 minutes of closing this evening- Friday-4/13/23. The young lady working in the shoe department was great. She looked for our items and didn't just tell us no luck when she couldn't find it. When she came out without the shoe we requested she had something even better that my daughter loved. It was what she originally wanted! A really nice hot pink Nike sprint cleat that we wanted but most stores showed out of stock on line. Now my daughter is ready for her first track meet in 2 days! Came here for some shirts and a nice high grade water bottle/canteen. This Dick's is huge, bigger than the others I've been two with two floors. The staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly, but I think there could've been more and dispersed a bit as I found them kind of in the same area. The areas are clearly sectioned off between the brands and Men, women and kids making it pretty easy to move to what you need section wise. Since the store is so big the stock was pretty good. They have tons of apparel to choose from, lots of sport equipment from baseball/softball equipment to the more adventurous equipment like kayaks and fishing gear. The only other issue was some of the racks, particularly in sale/clearance area was pretty hit. Of course I always give the benefit of the doubt as it only takes one person to wreck a rack of clothes but I'd think they'd have someone on hand to touch it up a bit. Dropping my review of Dick's Sporting Goods to three stars. I really loved the store when it was new, but it's been some years and things don't feel the same. I had no luck in the sneaker department, and the experience there was sort of flat. Also, the inventory in the clothing departments seems a bit lifeless and in need of a refresh (and sale prices, other than the clearance rack, are hard to come by). I don't want to be overly critical, as it's important to have a sporting goods retailer for fast access to essential products. But this store does need to step up its game a bit. read more

As their Wayne location was pretty far away, I asked whether they could hold it and the man on the phone said we could not and we could just show up due to Covid which was reasonable. The guy by the way hung up and I had to call back once so very nice guy overall. Anyway, we arrived at the Wayne location. This store is huge but we found the exercise bike area after asking a staff member. It turns out that both of the previous workers were correct. There was 2 bikes there along with the Schwinn IC3 which I tested and disliked (good thing I didn't purchase it.) It turns out that both of the people at Paramus were correct. There were two bikes but both of them were on the showroom floor for some reason. A staff member came over and I said we had called and confirmed they had an extra and the worker there was unsure as there was two on the floor so he went to check*. After a while he came back and said there was not an extra which means we came here for nothing. I asked whether we could get the one on the showroom floor and he said he would have to check with his manager and he left again. The very friendly manager arrived with him and he explained the issue. After checking with me to see whether I would know who had called (I didn't,) he apologized. They didn't want to sell the ones on the showroom floor as they have been used** and they didn't want to be liable which makes sense. I asked him why there were two of them on the floor and he was unsure. After the other person exchanged some words and we being unable to purchase a bike or get anything done in the last hour and a half, we left and decided to buy a bike elsewhere. *Every time he checked as the store was massive, it would take five-ten minutes for him to get back. **In terms of the ones there, both of them had broken foot straps and one of them could not be plugged in. I don't think they should have a broken bike as a sample piece but that's just me. Overall we had a terrible experience at both places. Outside of the cordial friendly apologetic manager, we received inaccurate information from the staff members at the other place and the customer service rep from here who clearly didn't want to talk to us. We decided to buy a bike from a more local place. read more

This location is a 100xs better than the Paramus location. The employees here actually help you and try to make it seamless. The store is bigger with 2 floors. The only downfall is that they had no small size cleats and I had no choice but to order. Otherwise, would come back to this location. read more

It's a great place to find new things to do with the family in your back yard. Pricing may be a bit high but it's how they pay for their rent. Can't hurt them for that. I like shopping here for personal gear and my family's gear for what ever sport. read more

New, two floor location at the "de-malled" Wayne Town Center. I went in looking for a hoodie for one of the little ones in my family and found a good selection of Under Armor, Nike and Reebok to mention a few. For the fishermen (and women) out there, they have a tremendous selection of poles and lures on the second floor. For the hunters and golfers, there's a large selection of gear as well. Although I didn't explore the entire store, at a glance it was stocked similarly to the other locations I've visited, but maybe on a larger scale. read more

Terrible customer service. I went to the firearm department to purchase a shotgun which online said was in stock. There was hardly anyone in the store. A gentleman working behind the counter was helping a customer spin line on his reel. I stood there for 25 minutes waiting for the associate to acknowledge me. Phone non stop ringer and yet the associate seemed to totally ignore me and the phone. It would have taken him a second to say anything to me. Like can I help you with something? Or I will be with you momentarily. Nothing. Customer service has gone strait down the drain. I will purchase my shotgun somewhere else. Their loss. read more

This particular store has practically no staff, and certainly not any staff for finding or trying on shoes. While I did find one employee who knew the difference between water resistant and waterproof, he didn't exactly stick around to help us find anything amongst the particularly poor selection. There is an extremely long line with not enough cashiers, and I've been on the line long enough to write this seriously pissed-off review. This store is AWFUL!!!!!!!!! If you want fitness apparel, shop local or go to Amazon. I bought one item and the clerk didn't even remember to take the censor off. I had to come back to have it removed. I shopped around the store and everywhere I went, I could hear the loud personal conversations of staff members on the floor. Most of the staff at this location are a little rude and unprofessional. With the exception of one woman, everyone either scowls or looks dead inside. Unfortunately when I had a question I had to interrupt one of these personal conversations and the salesperson's response was brief and a little bit rude. This store is very disorganized in some areas. I'm used to sale racks being a mess, but half the items weren't even priced. There were plenty of staff on the floor but not one person was going around to help the many customers around the store. I wasn't acknowledged once during the 30 minutes I was shopping. This location for DICK'S Sporting Goods is not that bad. They usually have most of the equipment I need, besides hiking boots. I would much rather go to REI for that. Here, there is a large selection of sports equipment for almost any sport you could imagine. The clothing areas of the store could get kind of messy, but most of the time, the staff can clean everything up nicely. read more

I was I need for new running shoes as mine were worn out and hurting my feet and shins, the associate for the shoe department proceed to lecture me on how a new pair of shoes was not "a silver bullet" to help with the discomfort and that I need to ice my legs and feet...I just kept thinking to myself, does he not want to sell me shoes. I think I might love this location. This place is HUGE! Two floors of every piece of sports equipment you could ever need, and then some you didn't know existed! I've come here several times for various things -- from new headphones to fitbit accessories to clothes to my first set of golf clubs. Each time, the customer service has been incredible. In particular, the people who have helped me up in the golf department (2nd floor) have been very nice. I've asked for advice on choosing the right clubs as well as assistance in finding gloves, shoes, and clothes. The people up there are so nice and helpful! One of the employees even carried my purchase downstairs for me because the box was about as big as I am hahah. Most of the running/fitness clothes are downstairs, and there are always several sales racks with a decent selection. I'm a Nike girl myself, and I can always find something I like at a great deal. At this point, they seem to have everything I need, and I can't imagine having to go to another store or Dick's location to find what I'm looking for. read more

I spoke with Mark in "Lodge" regarding something I needed for repairing a fishing rod. He was able to tell me exactly where to find what I needed and how to use it. He also gave me excellent advice regarding fishing, pairing a rod with an appropriate reel and had many other answers to my questions on fishing equipment. He gave me advice that no other fishing expert ever gave me. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, personable, patient, helpful and honest. There was another gentleman who assisted me on another occasion and he was quite positive, as well. I did not get his name. The cashier was positive, also. Dick's has a large selection of merchandise and competitive prices. The store was clean and neat, well-stocked and located in a nice location. Please check it out! read more

In short: If you just need some gear for a new sport you're trying out, or for your kids, Dicks is great. If you are really into your sport or hobby, and you are really into your gear, I doubt you'll be impressed. I agree with one of the other reviewers. I was there for what seemed like a while before I got any offer of help. But then, I was there on a weekday when there were very few people shopping, and the store felt absolutely cavernous. I ended up not buying anything because I'm kind of picky about my workout clothes. Even though they had tons of options, they didn't really have what I was looking for: Asics workout apparel. So, my opinion of Dicks is that, they have a lot of departments, but they don't carry the really high end stuff in any department. Not that I could see. I mean, it's January and I only saw sleeping bags that were rated 30+. So, that led me to pretty much rule out the whole camping department as useless. I guess I could grab a Nalgene there. Terrible customer service. I was told they had the item I needed. Went up stairs and they told me they had about 6 left. Well only one left and the box was ripped. They guy upstairs said they will give you a discount because the box was damaged. Waited on line get to cashier. No help just an attitude. I've never felt so uncomfortable. I didn't buy the item because I felt disrespected and was getting dirty looks. waited for manager never came out. Try make a conversation with the guy that told us they had 6 left. Was just in the store on 2/25/2021 around 210pm and waited on a line, there was 2 associates at the register. One of the associates walked away and left another man at the register, who had his back turned to my husband and I, after repeatedly calling for the gentleman he ignored us. As I saw he was on his personal phone with his back to the customer waiting on line. I put the stuff I was going to buy down at another register and just walked out. As he saw us walking out of the register line, not even a hello can I help you. Only turned his back to the front because the phone started to ring. Just completely ignored the fact that we had to be on line, if we were walking out that way. The store was not busy, there was no one on line. No customer service here, back to the customer, all while he is on his phone. I know times are rough now a days with covid and so on, but being courteous and being friendly goes a long way now a days. If he should be at the register than have it to where he should be facing the customer to see them and second he should have acknowledged when we called to him as well. New location! It's pretty big, 2 floors. It took me a while to find it though even though very familiar with the mall area. I thought maybe they didn't build it yet and the website lied to me. But I took another round and saw it from the distance. It was surrounded by construction gates so then I thought maybe it's not open yet. But eventually I found the yellow brick road that led me to it. I'm not a fan of sporting goods stores (probably cause I don't play sports). I went to get gloves from there. They have northface everything which was great but I wouldn't buy a northface from there. Definitely go to Macy's for that! This store is pretty new and its hugeee. It's the biggest sporting goods store I've been to. It has two floors and a big selection of pretty much everything, you can definitely find whatever you need here. Prices are what you would expect them to be. While this store is fresh and new, I do think the management already needs to be revamped. I was purchasing an outfit for golf and found a skirt and a matching top that I loved. When I went to try on the top, I noticed a brown stain near the collar of the shirt. The shirt was white so it was very obvious. I assumed it was a makeup stain or something...so I went to go get a new one and quickly noticed all the shirts had the same stain on them, in the same exact spot. I was in a bind now because this was the only shirt that matched my skirt.....and this skirt was the only one I could get because they barely had anything in a size small. I figured that Dicks would give a decent amount off the shirt since it was stained....so I went to the register to ask. The customer service was so incredibly terrible......they offered me 10% and I was kinda shocked. I made a comment and he said the best he could do was 15%, bringing the cost of the shirt down to $28. Still thinking this was way too pricey for damaged goods, I went and found another shirt which was exactly the same brand/style just a different color (blue) and was on sale for $18. I asked if they could just give me the white shirt for the price of the blue shirt. Seems pretty fair considering every single one of the white shirts had that stain on it.... They wouldn't budge. The very disinterested female manager rolled her eyes and with attitude told me 15% or nothing....I told them to keep it and have fun trying to get someone to pay $28 bucks for stained merchandise. I used to like coming to this store for my sports goods but this put a funny taste in my mouth. Instead of doing right by me, they low balled me.
