Well there was some good and definitely bad. Let me start with the good. The lady at checkout was nice, polite, and helpful. Well that's it. To start the prices are out of control. Everything I seen there I could get online cheaper by 75-100 dollars. That is a person opinion though and has nothing to do with the store. Let's get into the store. I went in to check out workout equipment, water bottles, and just to look around. I felt like I was at a ball pit in Mc Donald's. The employees were running around playing tag, not helpful at all. Besides most of them being young it was a lot of horse play, running through racks of clothes, throwing things to each other, laughing and pointing at people. It was extremely unprofessional. Now the setup, as I said went for a water bottle. I looked at the Stanley's someone actually took the time to disorganize all the lids. Meaning there were no colors matching blue had orange top or purple or white. It was frustrating and not like they were close to each other to just switch it they were scattered throughout. To me it was annoying. I stopped by the treadmills which was actually hilarious because I was looking for someone to help me, no one around because they playing tag. A gentleman started answering my questions and was from a different sport store and sells treadmills. He was so helpful it made me laugh. I asked why he was there and he told me price checking so he can be competitive. Do not buy a bike if you need it immediately, expect 2-3 weeks to assembe it. I ordered a bicycle on July 4th, and today is July 21st. I still don't have my bike. I received a message stating that it was picked up on July 15th, but I did not pick it up. When I contacted the store, they informed me that the bike is still not ready because they need to assemble and build it. I'm frustrated. When friends and I came into the store in the freezing rain just trying to get inside and warm up, and the second we ran in and said "brr" because of how cold it was, everything went downhill. We were only there to shop for baseball pants, gym shorts, and look around at some other stuff, but it felt like the very rude woman at the desk when you first walk in, Serenity, I believe her name is (curly brown hair) immediately judged us the moment she saw that we were teenagers walking in together. The way she spoke to us was extremely loud and aggressive, and she had already decided we were going to be a problem before we even had the chance to explain ourselves. We tried to tell her we were just there to shop, but she wouldn't hear us out and wouldn't let us speak to a manager, but instead just said that she would call the police, which made the whole thing feel completely unfair. On top of that, another 2 employees, one -- a big ponytail-haired dude -- was speaking harshly and using extremely inappropriate language and cursing in front of younger kids, the other one was as well, he was also a big guy but i don't know his name and don't know how to describe him too well, but it was a very bad example in a store environment and the young kids that were around us. I felt like I was being harassed by Serenity and the big ponytail-haired dude. What made the situation even more frustrating was seeing other groups of teenagers get treated the same way, including one group that walked in quietly, not yelling or causing any sort of disruption and still got told to leave just because they were together. It honestly was like we were being judged based on our age instead of our actions. Right when it seemed like nobody was willing to listen, Terryn (the sports team leader or something, also in charge of the downstairs) stepped in and completely changed the situation. He came to our rescue, heard us out, understood that we weren't there to cause trouble, and treated us like actual customers instead of assuming the worst. He was super chill, helped smooth everything over, and we even talked with him for a while, maybe for like 45 minutes, and he was super chill and nice, and gave us some gym tips, which made us feel respected and welcome, and because of him we were finally able to shop like we intended in the first place. If it weren't for Terryn I would've gladly formed a harassment claim against Serenity, the big ponytail-haired dude, and the other big guy. You guys (except for Terryn) should do better, it was awful the way me and my friends were treated to begin. She wouldn't even let us stand under the roof, not even in the store to stay out of the rain, but she would rather see us freeze out in the pouring rain than have some sympathy and do her job correctly. Shame on you Serenity, I hope the owner of this store sees this review and takes action. read more

Went to return an item I bought within the time of the refund policy they told they couldn't return me my money. They can't even follow their own policy's Manuela was extremely rude and Mike the manager didn't help or intervene at all. Customer Service is not good and kind and the scared shes gonna get in trouble which I didn't understand because they were the right policy's. They were nice enough but refused to take my return on a fishing rod used one time that was defective. Even though purchased less than a week ago and used one time, even with the receipt they would not return or exchange without the store's protection plan. Consider buying from better service stores just in case there's an issue. It was only a $50 rod and I was only asking for an exchange for one that wasn't defective. read more

Two Floors of Outdoors!! For my money Dick's Sporting Goods is the King of Outdoor Gear. This location is especially one of my favorite Stores, they always have what I need at very reasonable prices plus clearance deals that can't be beat. Fishing, Camping, Hunting, Outdoor Wear, Work Out Equipment, Sports and Activities this place has it all. I find this store to be well run and is almost always staffed with helpful employees. Founded in Binghamton, New York in 1948 by Dick Stack as a small bait and tackle shop the Chain presently has over 610 Stores in 47 States primarily in the Eastern United States. Hate here. Went to go ask for hockey socks for my son and had to ask 2-3 different employees where they'd be. Then I asked a fourth person near the hockey sticks. They told me they haven't ever seen them and didn't know what they were. Employees should be more responsible and knowledgeable of what they sell. Especially since they work in a sport goods store. I was lucky enough to find a bike online and this location had it available in-store. I decided to do curbside pickup since it would be assembled in-store. Once I placed my order I got a call from Dick's letting me know that it would take a few days to assemble the bike and that I would be contacted once it was ready. I got a call a few days later and decided to pick it up today. Curbside pick up was super easy and organized! I pulled up right in front of the store. There was a post on the store stating to call the number and let an associate know you were there to pick up your item. All I had to was pop my trunk and the sales associate came out and put my bike in my car. This location is about 35 minutes away from where I but the drive was worth it. read more

Okay so it's Dicks Sporting Goods...There is a certain standard that applies, there's plenty of parking, the store is split level and huge, well lit and has every thing needed for sport and activity ever. Here's the issue I tend to have with Dicks. I have a tough time finding the items i need in my size (M). Example I was in there wanting a sweatsuit and I found the M top but no M bottoms and that was the case for every style, color I tried. That was pretty annoying cause you see a table and rack full of options then to dig and see you can't get it b/c of everything presented its your size is still not an option. The other thing was the cart/ shopping process. The store is packed so tight it leaves little room to navigate a cart, perhaps having the mesh shopping bags would be a great alternative to clothes shopping without having to squeeze the push cart through all the clothing displays so closely packed together. Will I go back ...Heck Yeah, its Dicks.. although the last two trips were not the best I trust the brand and its always worth a shot. read more

This is a huge Dick's Sporting Goods and I make a trek here at LEAST twice a year for the kids to gear up for yet another season. Usually get pretty good service and we can usually find what we need...though I agree with a previous post that they are usually understaffed.. Dick's is usually higher priced than some of the other places, but as a 'card' holder we get so many coupons it offsets the higher prices. Anyway, stopped in today for soccer and field hockey 'stuff'. Found what we needed fairly quickly and got on line. So we get through the line quickly and step up with four of us dropping items onto the counter...we initially get a smile and a 'how are you today'. So far so good. Then I hand the cashier a pile of coupons and I got a look like I just told her I killed her dog. Are you f'n kidding me?!? I drop $325+ of equipment onto the counter and you're going to give me crap for having coupons? You want to make this easier? Lower your prices and I won't NEED coupons to bring me through the door. Or, if you have a crappy attitude try finding a job stocking shelves in a warehouse. So throughout the entire checkout process I got nothing but a crappy attitude from this young lady...so bad that I didn't even get a thank you or a 'have a nice day.' Huge store!!! They sell everything. But the problem is, it's too big and understaffed. I am not going to browse the entire store to look for the few items I need (under armor shirt, snowboarding mittens, kryptonite NY U-lock, blinkie lights and a snowboard lock). Trying to find some help is a challenge in itself. Once I found a staff member to assist me, she sent me on a scavenger hunt. Once I got my items, no one was to be found behind the register. I've come to dicks for a variety of things from fishing supplies, to camping gear, and occasionally ammunition needs. The one problem with the store is that it's pretty huge, 2 floors and has a lot of things. It great when you know where things are and can get them yourself; it's an issue when you need help with something. I've gotten some great advice from the guys in the fishing section about different baits to try for different areas, also the lodge guys can be pretty helpful. The problem comes when you need something. Buying ammunition requires a lodge rep. To get what you need and take down your Firearms ID number and such. Not normally a problem until there's no one in the lodge and then you have to wait an indiscriminate amount of time. read more

Cashier named Dayana was unbelievably rude, condescending, and unhelpful. She avoided eye contact, mumbled, didn't respond to questions, talked over me when I asked questions, and called the manager over to ask a question I'd just answered but she chose to ignore twice. I asked a question when it was time to insert my credit card, and she didn't answer, just looked at me with eyes rolling and repeated that I should insert the card. Manager witnessed her ignoring me when he came over and didn't even address it (or me). They both treated me like I was not a living person. It was the most remarkably dehumanizing 60 seconds of my retail life. I'm just flummoxed. How does she have a job interacting with people? And how does he not correct it? Not returning. read more

Huge place with all of your sporting needs fulfilled. Just walking around will make you feel guilty for skipping the gym or not joining that over 40 lacrosse league. Despite its size, or maybe because of it, there are not a lot of helpful people on the sales floor. There are people, but in my experience in a lot of the departments, no one impressed me as really knowing more than a floor clerk at Target would know about what they're selling. read more

Not bad... This place is HUGE. Seriously, this is the most humongous sporting goods store I've ever been to; it's two floors with escalators and they carry guns, kayaks, clothing, lots and lots of stuff. Unfortunately, the size of the store doesn't necessarily mean too much about the merchandise they carry. I came here looking to buy a cheap snorkeling set (mask and snorkel) and I was sent on a wild goose chase by a few employees who weren't sure where it might be. We were sent upstairs and back downstairs and then back upstairs only to find out they didn't have any in stock. I was pretty disappointed, especially by the fact that the employees were pretty uneducated about the layout of the store they were working in. I will give a lot of credit to one staff member who did go out of his way to wander the store with us to help. read more

This is probably the worst sporting goods store I've been to in a long time. I went in looking for a decent pair of sneakers. The girl working there clearly had no idea what she was talking about. She recommended these geriatric-looking shoes to me and told me she wore them, despite her complete Nike attire. She also laughed with her co-worker while I was trying them on, creating an uncomfortable experience for me. The co-worker was not doing anything and laughing with his friends. Neither of them appeared qualified at all to sell sporting goods. They laughed at me and I left extremely upset. I bought my shoes elsewhere and won't be going back to this store. read more

Avoid this store at all costs. I bought my son a bike there on 6/8/19, a GT mountain bike, when i checked out I got a coupon for $20 credit and they asked if i wanted the extended warranty. I asked if i coukd use the coupon towards that on the 19th when it went i to effect, and the saleswoman said come by then and ask. Well today, 6/16/18 the rear derailleur hanger broke, no big deal.i went to buy the extended warranty and was denied because apparently my son has "abused" the bike in the first week he got it. This is total BS, i ride with him, he is 12 years old and for $450 the bike should not need a full service after 8 days. Stay away from the GT brand, and stay away from Dicks sporting goods. Buy from a reputable bike shop or even walmart, at least Walmart honors their receipts on like this Sporting Goods chain. They wont even let me exchange the defective bike. read more

I had a terrible experience here, and would never shop here again. I went to Dick's to buy a treadmill and some other gym equipment. I waited around for 30 minutes before someone would come help me in that department. I stopped four different staff people, all who promised they would send someone to help me... It should have been a warning. Once I was finally helped, I chose my items, spending over $1500 in total. When the delivery people came (I had paid for delivery and assembly), they had the wrong item with them. It took a number of phone calls with a less than gracious manager before I sorted out the problem. When I called to schedule the delivery of the correct item, the woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude and insisted she had never heard of me and had no orders for me. I had to call the manager of the store again to sort that out. When the delivery people finally came, they arrived an hour later than their window of time, refused to assemble the second piece of equipment I had paid to be assembled, and left all the boxes lying in our driveway. I would call the manager to complain, but given my experience thus far I don't think it will help. read more

OMG.... tried finding out over the phone(CALLED 5X!!) if they had a shirt that was online and got blown off, transferred to wrong area, transferred put on hold for 5 min and the after 5 min someone picked up & hung up, directed to the website online and then flat out told they don't have the shirt without even looking for it. I bet if I go to the store in Rockaway NJ, they probably do have the shirt, these millennials can't be bothered with working, they just want the paycheck and want to go home. read more

Stopped in here today on our Sunday of getting things done. I am generally not a fan of the mass sporting goods stores, I feel like as far as attire goes they are overpriced, the sales staff may or may not know what they're talking about, and selection is usually mediocre. Dick's doesn't fall too far outside of those feelings for me. My husband was looking for a specific type of wax to seal his boots with, so while he searched I perused the shelves. Attire, yes they have nice selection, but after having been exposed to gems like Campmor and Ramsey Outdoor, and brands like Patagonia and Prana, I just can't justify $45 for a hot pink Nike shirt. Cute yes, fashionable yes...worth it? I may own one or two full priced Patagonia items, yes they are expensive but I have had some of those items for close to 8 years. They do hold up---can Nike say that? probably not. Anyway I digress back to Dick's..... The store is beautiful, it's set up well and they do have nice stuff. I was looking for a pair of ankle weights so I figured why not let me check it out. Almost $10 above other prices I've seen elsewhere. And at that point I was done. Also noticed that their shoe department pretty much offered only women's running shoes...I suppose we don't do other sport type things. So their loss again. I am not so much a fan of Dick's. I think they probably have the market covered on specialty sports items like hockey or lacrosse for highschool kids, or people who play those sports. But as a regular fitness enthusiast consumer you won't find me shopping here. Do your research and go elsewhere IMO. read more

Im new to the area and needed to get my hockey skates sharpened. I couldn't find any locate hockey clubs or shops so I had to end up going to Dicks. First off there hockey selection is half a row. It is so sad how they have no hockey merchandise in that store. I come from Minnesota where the Hockey sections can range up to 5-8 isles long. The guy that eventually took my skates look like he had no idea what he was going to do with them. Even though they only charges me $3.00 plus tax it was the WORST skate sharpening I have ever received in my entire life. No edges at all when I hit the ice the next day. I had to get them resharpened at the rink before the game started. NEVER get your skates sharpened at Dicks. They have no experience or bad machines! read more

Dick's has everything and is most likely why they will always have foot traffic into the store. I have always been pleased with the level of customer service in the store, but I always have approached the staff member. The building is large and two floors so finding things may not always be easy. If they worked on their customer service and attention to the customer walking in the store I think it would be a huge improvement. I also hate the checkout process. There is always a line. Last night the person in front of me did not have a bar code on the item he was buying. While someone was looking the line built up. (There was another register open, but there was a lady buying a book bag that was taking longer to decide than buying a car)One of the other employees that were nearby could have jumped in to ring a few customers while they were backed up. These are all things that are fixable. They have a great product assortment, but just need to focus more on the customer. read more

I received a bow for Christmas from my sister and went here and met with their bow tech Mark who was very helpful and knowledgable. He got me all set up, fine tuned the bow to me, and let me experience shooting the bow with guidance so I know what I'm looking for when I practice more! Awesome place! Went to this store to pick up a few things for fishing and get in line and two people are ahead me where apparently they got the wrong shoe size and the lady at the register is taking so long not even acknowledging me or the 2 ladies behind me to see if we needed help. Oh wait heres the best part theres was only one register open and dozens of employees just standing around doing nothing. With all these employees they have they seriously couldn't open another register. Ridiculous, So i just put everything I was going to buy and just left the stuff on the righter next to me and walked right out the door. Seriousl!!!
