This store has everything! For sports gear, everything is laid out nicely. For clothes, I feel like I have to search a little. There are the same types of items in multiple locations and it would be helpful to compare if they were together, especially because some cost more than others. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend but search for some coupons before your trip! read more

This Dicks Sporting Goods location is large. They include not only their general retail sports goods, but also Field & Stream. One could find anything they could imagine in retail sports goods related to outdoor sports. Dicks also has an impressive brand selection an athletic clothing. We visited Dicks Sporting Goods specifically to purchase "Corn Hole". Our intentions are to get good enough to eventually compete professionally somewhere in Europe. read more

Jose in shoes is awesome! Very helpful and personable! We found the perfect running shoes!

I can only talk about the bike department. Staff Jose was awesome. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time explaining to us and showed us different bikes. 24 hours returning policy as long as they are new. read more

returned items that were the wrong size. Scott at the register handled the return and reorder. It is very rare these days to find a young person that is courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I will go back to Dicks because of workers like Scott. very impressed. read more

My son spent a half hour looking for a Knick shirt. Finally finding it they told him he couldn't buy it because they put it out too early. They wouldn't even hold it for him to make up for the mistake. ...Not a good business practice. read more

I LOVE DICKS. There I'm admitting it to the world now everyone knows LOLOLOLOL. All kidding aside I actually love this Dicks Location for mainly one reason. When I walk into the store the people that work there leave me alone lol. They don't ask "do you need help"? I can go and pick up whatever I need because they sell basically everything one would need for the outdoors. I just love being left alone and if I need help I ask and it is given without a problem. All said and done check out this location its easy to find and very clean.* *Note: If you are a needy want to be coddled shopper this is not the location for you. read more

DICK'S Sporting Goods - There out there and I will catch them and eat them - Sports Wear Near Me - Melville, New York

Dick's Sporting Goods is probably my favorite clothing store that I've ever been to! The other day, I needed some more fall clothes because I only had sweatshirts, but barely any long-sleeved shirts. So I went to Dick's Sporting Goods. Man, they have such a good selection! I wish I could go there everyday! They had the exact style of clothes that I love and was looking for. The only thing is that man, Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas is expensive! I got Adidas black pants there, which costed about $40.00, as the subtotal! But besides that, I would definitely recommend for people to come here. They have such a good selection that people would not want to walk out of the store because of how good the clothes there are! read more

I ordered a pair of ice skates for my daughter online and picked up in the store the next day. When I got home to try the skates on her, there were 2 different size skates in the box. I called and after being transferred about 6 times, I spoke to a gentleman named Chris who couldn't have been more apologetic. He had the skates delivered from another store the next day. When my husband went to pick them up, they were the wrong skates. In the end, what was a disappointing experience, the store manager Chris made sure all was taken care of. His handling of the situation was superb! Customer service A+++ read more

Terrible! Do not come to this Dicks for sneakers. I came on a Friday and it was empty, I wondered why for about 20minutes and then I figured it out, the merchandise was low and the service is awful. Again this is my experience while shopping for sneakers and not garments or equipment. I asked the sales associate for 4 different sneakers, they did not have my size in any of them (mind you I am not a hard size to find.) On about my 6th attempt to ask for sneakers in my size, I found ones I liked, I asked if he could take the sensor off the laces so I can see how they would feel and he said No. They are not allowed. Every other Dick's would take it off wait for you to try it on then they will put the sensor back on the shoe. Lets not skip over the fact that with two people asking for help it took about 10minutes for the sales associate to get back to you after every time. Very aggravating shopping experience. read more

I love this store because there are so many options, apparel constantly changes and the store is kept clean. The employees are always energetic, kind and helpful. The only downside is that the prices are high. You are getting quality clothing but I wish they ran sales more often. read more

I went to look at a few handguns along with rifle and short guns. They have a wide selection, but the service was limited. I stopped in this place after being severely disappointed with my local Sports authority. This place was clean and well organized. There were no disgusting stains on the floor or other blatant signs of disregard for the cleanliness of the building. The staff was helpful, their prices were competitive and I found what I was shopping for. Win. I'll shop here again. read more

An employee in the golf department named Jack helped my boyfriend immensely after he purchased a driver that ended up breaking within a month. He seamlessly resolved the issue and contacted the company directly to have a replacement sent. My boyfriend ended up driving back to the same store (even though we live quite far) just to return to Jack's department to buy more clubs. Jack provided him with tips on his golf swing as well. Needless to say we will be returning to this location in the future. read more

So I made a purchase at this store because it was the only one that had the product in stock. It's a 45 min drive for me to get to this store. I get home and the item is all banged up and messed up. I call and talk to the manager and she said to just bring it back and they would return or exchange it. I go back and meet with Cyrus the manager. He went and got the new item and helped me load it into my car. There was no issue with the exchange. Thanks for making it easy for me. read more

Just left the store. I purchased a trolling motor a few weeks ago and finally got to use it yesterday. Of coarse it wasn't working properly. I went back to the store and was asked immediately after walking through the door if I needed any help. I told the gentleman my situation and he helped me out. I believe his name was Michael, very helpful and knowledgeable also. I was told I could exchange the motor I had for a new one. I was in and out in ten minutes. read more

Went into Dicks today to buy a home protection gun for my wife. A lot of crazy people in this world lately. This is the most poorly run store I have ever seen. The manager Jay is extremely incompetent and should not be manager let alone even working in the store. Waited for a good 45 minutes and when we were next online the guy helping us walked away to help someone else. When we spoke to Jay he had the worst attitude and we wound up walking out of the store and not making the $500 purchase. I don't know how a big chain like Dicks could tolerate the lack of customer service. I will never shop at Dicks ever again!!!!! read more

Honestly some of the laziest customer service Ive experienced. If you hate your job so much, you should quit. Or be fired (ahem management). Tracy - my cashier - was yawning in my face, made zero eye contact, and when some more people stepped in line proceeds to say "God, it never ends!" The store wasn't even that busy. I would never come back and it's a shame that I'm sure a manager would never read this and the service will continue to go down hill. Even when I arrived and I had to seek someone to help me, this guy (who seemed totally lost himself...) directed me to where I needed to go verbally. He should have walked me over and been more enthusiastic about helping me out. Customer service, remember? Smh read more

Young lady in mens named Ashanti helped me pick out a nice outfit for memorial day . the service there in general is top notch .

I bought Footjoy golf shoes here in May, it is now July and the shoes are giving terrible blisters. They only stand behind the shoes for 60 days. Very matter of fact. Don't care to help the customers at all. On one hand they have a rewards program to try to encourage loyalty, but by not standing behind what they sell why would I stay as a loyal customers. This store is appropriately named, Dicks. read more

Although I did not have a problem with this store, I do however have a problem with Dick's Sporting Goods in general. I placed an order on line, upon placing order, the website glitched, it cleared my info and emptied my cart. I redid order and then received 2 emails regarding my order. I canceled the first order 60 seconds after it was placed(at 11:30 pm) and hit the cancel request button on website and entered order number. My card was obviously charged twice. Long story short, online chat was useless, live customer service was useless. They are very scripted with their responses. Not helpful....AT ALL!!!! Headquarters website is a front, and so is "customer service" They want you to feel you are being heard and you definitely are not!!! read more

It's pains me to write this. I am normally very happy with the service I receive at DSG. I don't know why it was so hard to get shoes for my kids. They pick out soccer cleats, salesperson (if you can call him that) scans the barcode "sorry we don't have those in 2.5." I turn around to have the girls pick out a different style, seconds later he's gone. We're left on the shoe area with 2 other customers and 1 associate. I had to interrupt another customer and the employee to get the children they have working there to come out of the stock room and help. I only knew they were back there because I could hear them laughing having a great time, meanwhile I'm stuck looking at a bunch of left shoes wondering when I'll get a complete pair for my kids to try on. I only go here because it's closer to my house. I'll save my DSG needs for the Garden City store. These types of employees are probably the same ones that want a $15 minimum wage and free college. You get 2-stars for the massive selection and clean store. That's it. read more

Went into the store 5 days before Christmas to purchase a 24 inch BMX boys bike. I had to wait 32 minutes for help even after asking 4 different people to send someone for help in the bike section. The only guy working the bike section was doing carry outs while 10 other employees were standing around doing nothing. When I finally received help I was told there were no more 24 inch bikes in stock. read more

This place has the potential of being 5 stars. It's a large store, fairly clean and nicely laid out. I'm giving it 3 stars because A LOT of items do not have price tags. I had to access their website to search for the price of a few items on my most recent visit. A man with his son asked an associate for a price on an item as I was researching a price for something I took off the shelf. I also noticed a lot of empty racks and they didn't have an item that the website said they had. Hopefully this location is taken over by another owner and makes the necessary improvements. read more

I was purchasing approximately $200.00 in various goods. One of the products scanned at $13.95, the price on the shelf was 8.95 (there was no price sticker on the product). I questioned the cashier, She checked with another person that was in the area that appeared to be a manager, I was made to feel like it was my fault, or that I was trying to get "something for nothing" I WAS INSULTED, and It was clear to me that the Manager did not care one way or the other about my business. I will not go back, they will fail with idiots like the in their employ. read more

Just saw a manager collecting wagons take garage out of one and dump it on the ground.

This store is cleaner and nicer then some of the other Dicks I have been to. Just like some of the other reviewers said the staff could be better. Every store of this size is going to have good employee's, great employees and lazy employees. I don't think people should give 1 star because of one employee in the store. Overall the store is good and has a big selection of items. read more

I am shocked at the bad reviews I'm seeing here. This is the BEST Dick's I've ever been to! They recently renovated and expanded.. I could spend half the day in here and still walk out feeling like I missed something. They have absolutely everything! My son's wardrobe is 90% Dick's and with the expanding clearance section, I'm paying less than ever, loving it! There's always plenty of employees walking around to assist you. If I had to give one complaint, it would be their hockey section. They reduced the section to make more room for team sports apparel.. my son will have to deal with it lol read more

Lazy employees. Went in to buy sneakers but employee didn't want to help because he was "helping this other customer." What that means is leaning on a display looking on while a woman sat there talking to her daughter and using her phone. Someone needs to tell him you don't need to sit there and watch. You can say I'll be right back. That's how it usually works. You CAN help more than one customer at a time. That's what people usually do... I left and went elsewhere. read more
