After letting the cashier know it was missing, she looked at the computer and said, "oh. Yeah, it was cancelled." I told her I never received a notification of it being cancelled and she said, "well, we don't have it, that's why." I asked to get the same item in store but in a different color since it was a bundled purchase as part of a promotion. She said okay. I quickly went, found the item, and took it up to her at the register, where she CHARGED ME FOR IT. I asked why I was being charged if I had already paid for the item and she said I will get my other item's refund in 7-10 business days. I paid and left. When I got home, I received a notification that my item still hadn't been picked up in store. ???????? I called customer care and they said they couldn't do anything about it and to call the store. I called the store and they said the same thing and that customer care should have handled it. So now, either my item or my money (or both) are floating around somewhere and there's no one who knows how to just cancel the item and reimburse me.

Anyways went to the customer service desk after entering the store and waited for 5 or so mins while associate was helping another gentleman. While standing there a male associate named Phillip approached me and asked if I was wanting to return an item. I stated yes I was and he stated, and I quote " well you're going to have to go get in the back of the line, we can't have you cutting in front of all these other people". I explained to him that a week prior that I went to desk at first like you do anywhere else and that I was not aware I needed to get in the purchase line. He continued to walk behind me and follow me to the line after I told him I did not appreciate him accusing me of breaking in line as I was not aware this was the expectation . He was super rude and has no place working with the public with his terrible and condescending attitude. Spoke with manager Chandra and she stated she would speak with him, but I assume it will not be handled as she stated this was not typical of him. After reading several reviews on here with similar complaints maybe it's just the culture of the Gastonia store. I will not be back . Attached is the signage that clearly states what I did, just to be treated and talked to like trash.

I come to several sneaker stores in this mall and none of them have the latest releases. My experience there was pleasant. Although the store was not appealing. It seemed as if it was closing down. At least that's the feeling I got when I walked in. It doesn't seem to carry much merchandise and it's layout it weird. Not sure how to describe it. I began chatting with one female associate and she was very engaging. We talked sneakers and she let me know that they weren't getting the releases. Sad to say but I probably won't come back here just because of their limited selection. The one associate is the only reason why I am giving this store the stars it's getting.

The historic charm of the former occupant, Stowe Mercantile Co., was in tact and the store's merchandise was nicely organized. I really enjoyed seeing some original fixtures too and couldn't help but gaze up the grand staircase. But, I suspect most people don't come to Catawba River Outfitters for architecture so lets talk about products. Catawba River Outfitters features clothing and gear for the whole family for an active lifestyle and outdoor adventures. I'm not a super outdoorsy person but I appreciate quality clothing and gear and I really enjoyed looking at mens' swim trunks, ladies' loungewear, kids' flip flops, collapsible chairs, Yeti cups, festive backpacks, sturdy coolers and such. Something else I really liked about this store was the staff. Everyone was very friendly!
