I was called three times by someone named Morgan but she couldn't ever leave a voicemail so it was constant phone tag to even set up a phone interview. Anyway when I showed up to the interview I have a guy's name, but I'm a woman. When I showed up, the interviewer immediately said, "Sorry, you weren't what I expected," and flat-out told me she had been expecting a man. She then went on to say that I probably wouldn't even be considered for the position I applied for, but we could "talk about a different position" instead. On top of that, she made horrible eye contact throughout the entire interview. Honestly, thanks for wasting my time--this could have been cleared up over the phone if I wasn't qualified or wasn't going to be given a fair chance. Offering $15 an hour is already a joke for a college student, but now I'm left wondering: I guess a kinesiology student isn't qualified to work in the shoe department, or maybe she just only hires men.‍ She didn't even walk me out from the back room. Most awkward interview ever. Regardless, I would have liked to be given a fair interview before it was decided I wasn't qualified within in the first 2 seconds of meeting. Thanks Faye this experience really rubbed me wrong and made me feel pretty lousy. I won't be back at this Dick's Again needless to say. Shop at the Edwardsville one.

It took multiple explanations to multiple people for them to even believe me that the product was broken. Their solution was for me to bring it back to the store. I told them I don't have a pickup truck and I'm one person so how am I going to do that (I ordered online from their store and it was delivered to me) They had no help and just told me to do it. So I'm stuck with this broken bike and if I want to return it I have to make a friend with a pickup truck or hire an outside person to help me return the damn thing EVEN WHEN IT BROKE WITHIN THEIR WARRANTY. The whole reason I bought from a local store was so I could try out the bike in store and hopefully it would be easier to return to a local store than Amazon. (They also only had 2 bikes to try in the ENTIRE store, making that a waste of a trip). I was wrong. Just order from Amazon, you can use their Pilot program to pickup your bike if it breaks. Here at Dick's (which should have better customer service) they live up to their name and suggest you figure it out and bring it back yourself, even if you're disabled, live alone, and don't have a pickup truck. Thank you for NOTHING Dick's Sporting Goods. I will never be back.

deep disappointment with Dick's Sporting Goods for its decision to no longer sell firearms,…read moreammunition, and related accessories. As a customer and sportsman, I find it disingenuous that a store with "Sporting Goods" in its name has chosen to turn its back on a core part of American sporting culture. Firearms and hunting sports have been a central component of outdoor recreation for generations. By removing these products from your shelves, Dick's has alienated a significant portion of its customer base--people who engage in legal, responsible shooting sports, hunting, and self-defense. Caving to ideological pressures may win short-term headlines, but it erodes the trust and loyalty of long-standing customers who came to Dick's specifically because it was a one-stop shop for all sporting needs--including firearms. This decision is not only disappointing, it's a clear departure from what your brand originally stood for. If Dick's no longer intends to support the full range of traditional sporting goods, then perhaps it's time to reconsider the name on the front of the store.

The New Year's resolution hunt to find 15 pound dumbbells continues! It has been quite a journey…read more And the latest trek in my log took me all the way to West County County Mall. SHRIEK! Such a far, exotic locale for city dweller such as myself. I had to pack snacks! While I kid about "how far away" (sarcasm intended) this particular Dick's Sporting Goods is from Downtown St. Louis, it is actually very convenient to get to. Located just off 270, it's relatively easy to get visit Dick's. Hot Tip. Dick's is located on the third (penthouse) of the mall. Avoid as much traffic as you can by heading right to the parking garage and heading straight up to the roof. Very few people park on top of the structure, so there are plenty of open spots, unlike the ground floor that feels like you're fighting to the death in an ancient Roman arena over a terrible spot. There is an entrance on the top floor making a quick trip to see if they have a specific product available a cinch! This particular Dick's location is incredibly unique and massive. It's the biggest Dick's I've ever seen. (Wow... what kind of review is this?) The most interesting part of this store is how it connects to the rest of the mall. There is an escalator on the ground floor of Dick's which is the only point of access to other stores. What's cool is you can look down into the mall and feel like you're in a secret loft. It was an interesting choice by the designers. Makes the store feel separate. Being a Western Pennsylvania native, I've always loved this sporting goods chain. Dick's is headquartered just outside of Pittsburgh so there are stores everywhere! I can truly attest that "Every Season Starts at Dick's!" They have so many offerings. Even if you're just looking to add a few pieces to your wardrobe, they always have so many awesome options to choose from. Comfy Nike hoodies. Under Armour everything. Jackets. Polos. You get it, they have a giant selection. This particular location had a great sales section with items that were generously marked down. The store was laid out very well so that you could easily navigate the big space. I'm giving the store three stars because they didn't have the items I went in to find. Also, I was a bit uncomfortable with how many people were in the store. Even though the space is ginormous, they weren't regulating how many customers came in and out of the store. I think that during this crazy era of COVID the shopping experience for me was already uneasy and the chaos of a large crowd didn't help. There were a lot of groups of teenagers roaming the store not even looking at products. They probably could have been asked to leave.

HELLO HR TEAM. I am…read moresubmitting this report anonymously due to concerns about retaliation. I would like to bring attention to ongoing issues at a store location that are affecting employees and the overall work environment. There are consistent communication problems from store management. Employees often do not receive responses to messages, and are frequently asked to come into work on short notice without clear communication or proper discussion of availability. This creates confusion and makes scheduling difficult. The tone of communication is also a concern. The store manager can be abrupt and, at times, speaks to employees in a pressured or demanding manner. Phrases such as "you better" are used, even when employees are already working hard. Additionally, it often seems that frustration from upper management is taken out on staff, which contributes to a stressful and uncomfortable work environment. There appears to be favoritism among employees. Some individuals are treated more favorably in terms of scheduling, expectations, and interactions, while others are not treated equally. This has affected morale and created tension within the team. There is also a lack of transparency regarding raises. Employees are told they must work harder to earn raises, but even after working for extended periods of time, there is little communication about evaluation criteria or opportunities for advancement. Finally, I would like to report a serious concern that has been discussed among staff. It has been reported within the workplace that the store manager may have engaged in inappropriate text communication with an underage employee. While I am not directly involved, this concern has been shared among multiple employees and is significant enough that it should be reviewed and investigated appropriately. I respectfully request that this location be reviewed and that employees be given an opportunity to provide honest feedback in a safe and confidential manner. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Sincerely, Concerned Employee.
