I went into the store Saturday, January 18 and spent about $900 on weightlifting equipment including one major item which needed to be shipped to my house namely a Nike squat rack. I received notification from Dick's Sporting Goods and also FedEx that it had arrived at my house today however what I found was simply too posts which make up part of the unit but that was all. So in other words I received something that was totally unusable and didn't compromise the majority of the parts that were supposed to arrive constituting the whole unit. I'm including two pictures attached here. One is an actual picture of what the unit is on the website and the other is what arrived at my house. I called the online store location since that is where it ultimately came from and they didn't know what they were doing and it took me forever to get them to understand what the problem was even though it's a very simple scenario and they told me that I would either have to repack everything and let FedEx pick it back up and wait for a new order to come in or I could wait for them to contact the manufacturer and see how long it would take them to replace whatever pieces are missing. I got no idea of how long either option would take. So I spent time repackaging everything for a future FedEx pick up. I called the Woodbridge Dick's Sporting Goods store to give feedback to the store because they are the ones that I paid for this and they are the ones to put the order in and I have to say that I didn't get any empathy at all. I'm sure that I wasn't in a good mood when I spoke to them but they weren't at all helpful or nice about it. They weren't rude either. All I can say is, after spending a little bit less than 1000 bucks, I really thought I would get better service and results than this. I'm hopeful that UPS does come and pick up what they sent and then brings me a new box that contains all the parts so that I can actually have what I paid for. I don't know how long that'll take no idea but hopeful. I would advise anybody to be very careful shopping there to make sure that things are done properly. read more

I was visiting the store to make a return/exchange. Upon entering, I attempted to walk to the register to tell the employee (Shams) that I would like to make a return. Instead of a polite greeting, she rudely said, "you have to get in line." I was confused and she repeated it with the same tone. I didn't mind getting in line, however there was only a woman entering the line from the other way. Nonetheless, my only reason for entering that way was to announce I was returning something because I lost my receipt. When It was our turn, Shams looked at the shoes I was returning and asked if they had been worn. They had not. I actually purchased 2 of the same shoes, just different sizes, and kept the other one. I said they hadn't been worn. She replied, "no one is gonna buy these" with an attitude. I said, "excuse me?" Still with an attitude, she said, "nothing." At the end of the transaction, I asked for her name and she said (again with an attitude), "Shams, why?" I told her so that I can leave a review of her service. I have shopped at Dicks several times and have never been met with such a nasty attitude, especially upon entering the store. I hope Shams can be coached or refreshed and on what customer service should look like, because what I experienced was below standard. read more

Richard's always has what I'm looking for without fail. It's always my first choice when I cannot wait for a delivery or need it in a hurry. This story dies tech to get busy due to ours location and quite honestly the only sporting goods store in the area Witt a vast selection covering an array of sports. Shipping tip: do sign up for the rewards club. Not only do you earn points on your purchases which earn you a monetary reward, they also have three best coupons!!!!! Although I have yet to receive any by mail, which I have heard about on several occasions, I do get them via email. My recommendation is that whatever you are looking at here, if you don't need it right away just keep an eye on it. Within two to three weeks of it hitting the rack, it will either be on sale or a coupon will come out that will cover it! The young lady who assisted me today noticed that purchase qualified for the coupon and was kind enough to not only remind me but found me an additional one after I explained to her that I never receive mail from them. Like ever..... she checked my account to make sure my address was right, it was. Although it had nothing to do with her, as the face of Richard's today during my experience she went out of her way to do what she could to at least make this trip right! The store is always clean and the associates are always friendly and helpful! During my entire trip before I made it to the register, I do recall being asked at least twice by two different associates if I needed assistance. Talk about good customer service! Last but not least, if you are still reading this, the survey at the end of your receipt will get you $10 off your next $50 purchase. I came into Dick's to look at their softball equipment for the upcoming Spring adult softball season. The store was great. They had a variety of items for softball/baseball including clothing, shoes, equipment, and even small specialty items. The one thing I was disappointed about was their actual section for adult softball slow-pitch bats. They only had about 8 bats total to choose from, and only about 3 different choices (the others were duplicates). I found one that seemed descent but I couldn't find much information on it. The "tag" was just really a sticker with a barcode and it had a price somewhere else on the bat. It didn't advertise the bats strengths and tell my why to choose it like your typical box or tag for an item would. I was left to scour the Internet for reviews, and that was difficult to find for my particular item. Ultimately I couldn't find enough information to make my purchase. The store still had some other great items that were well stocked, but just not what I came for. I do plan to be back for their clothing and other equipment before the season starts! read more

The cashiers and management here are rude. I asked to checkout and an employee looked at me like I was stupid for asking. The lady who claimed to be the manager (Kate) didn't care about the employee's attitude. Apparently I should accept an employee looking at me with RBF. I'm in the market for a cooler. Dicks had a pretty good selection of coolers considering it's off season. I didn't purchase it from here because I found it cheaper elsewhere. However, the staff was super nice and helpful in answering my questions about their products. The store was clean and clear of clutter. There weren't many customers in the store. I was there on Sunday, 1/2/20 and I saw a man who I think works there not wearing a mask. He was speaking with several employees while walking around the store--there was another employee who took off his mask so 2 people who talking without face coverings! The strange thing is that he had a mask but kept on pulling it down to talk. He was smiling and at ease so there wasn't an emergent reason to remove the covering. Management needs to take heed and be more vigilant of their staff. My sister and I were disturbed by this and by the fact that other employees were not instructing him to keep his mask on although I did see one employee dart away from him. I ordered an elliptical machine that was delivered incomplete. After numerous attempts to get resolution I got nothing. I asked to return for refund. They either cannot or do jot care I spent well over 1300.00 plus warranty and assembly. That they cannot or will NOT Do. My recommendation bypass Dicks for any purchase. This review is for the Dick's Sporting Goods chain store location in Woodbridge, VA among the greater Potomac Mills shopping area. We have been to this location previously, but, after a visit this weekend: decided to go ahead and write a review. We went after getting a mailed-out coupon for 10% off certain athletic gear clothing for women. The problem with this coupon, as with all the ones Dick's mails out - they exclude virtually EVERY MAJOR NAME BRAND of athletic clothing in their store!!! On top of that, their prices even with coupons, are high ($$$). In a stroke of sheer cosmic fortune: we found a women's athletic top with a 'red' clearance tag on it, that fit her. When checking out, the clerk tried to ring it up at full price (not the tag price). After some petty sniveling and whining from clerk...we got tag price...but no 10% discount. This follows what I have observed as consistent pattern at this Dick's location: lazy, argumentative employees, who do not seem motivated to be employed. The selections are somewhat lesser at this location over other stores in the chain. Perhaps time to re-think even wanting to come back here? Wiser choices available at other locations. read more

If I need something sports related, I usually come to Dick's Sporting Goods. It is not for the fact that this is one of the only Sports stores around for miles. It is actually for the fact that what they sell here is pretty good! I am almost always greeted at the door. When I am looking for things in their well organized isles, there is usually a staff member around asking if I found everything ok or if I need help. The quality of the products is fairly good, but the prices could be considered high for shoppers in this area. Every once in a while they're a little disorganized, but never has it been on a consistent basis. The cashiers here are ok, but don't seem as nice or as efficient at working as the merchandise employees. These are only two reasons I have to deduct a star. Overall, I am pleased with this business and would recommend it to others. read more

That said, I find it maddening when you go to check out and stand in a line because there is just one register open and customers are queued up and waiting. My husband and I came in to find a sleeve to cover his tattoos. We walked around for quite a bit before we could find someone to assist. I had push the help needed button. We finally found the sleeves and were out the door. Not sure if it was because it wasn't during peak hours but we had a hard time trying to find the item, and then actually get help when we couldn't find it after the scavenger hunt around the store. So far so good! Everything is so clean and organized. Some of the staff just standing around being cute. I came here for a patch for my mothers air mattress. My daughter or somebody poked a hole in it. I slept on this air mattress for about a week until one morning I woke up on the floor being swallowed by a queen size air mattress. Duct tape, Scotch tape, hot glue, cotton balls later....My mom told me she would sue me for the price of the mattress ($400) if i didn't find a way to fix it or replace it (good old southern hospitality) Anyways... I Googled "air mattress repair patch" and Dicks Sporting Goods popped up. I immediately went to Dicks, and the sales associate showed me a $5 repair kit not the same as what I saw online so I was skeptical. He said if didn't work I can send it back. I went to my moms house, followed the instructions and there has not been a problem since. Thanks to the knowledge of that young man, I wont be sued! read more

While having a few brews with a friend of mine, she asked me if there were a Dick's around here. I pondered that question for a long while - a rather uncomfortable long while - and then finally came up with this sporting goods store on Prince William Parkway not far from Potomac Mills Mall. I have actually use this Dick's all the time and don't know why exactly there are such bad reviews. I've always had someone greet me at the door upon entering and the staff has always seemed very helpful to me. Yesterday, I went there to by some baseball gloves so that my son and I could play catch. The Easton glove I bought had a plastic buckle that broke on the first night. I took it back the next day and it was exchanged (and offered for refund) with no problems. The store is CLEAN and well organized. The bathrooms were immaculate. I don't know about deals, and the other complaints that people have written about for this place but they aren't accurate in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with this store. read more

Went into Dick's tonight in search of football attire for my son, a chin strap. The chin strap section was very unorganized. Chin straps in the wrong sections, showing the incorrect sizing. Went to the register to pay, the chin strap rang up $10 more than what it was supposed to be. The clerk was not very "customer service" friendly. I sent my son back to get another size as she stated the chin straps for youth were $11.99. He grabbed another strap on the $11.99 rack and it again rang up $22.99. I walked back to the section myself looking for the $11.99 chin strap and another employee Steve was there rearranging several of the chin straps as I walked up. When I showed him the strap that was in the wrong spot, he argued with me about the difference... Like I'm supposed to know chin straps. I'm looking at the price and size, if Dick's has it in the wrong spot, that's definitely not my fault. We recently moved to the area and won't be returning to this store again. Poor customer service all around and not enough staff working the registers. read more

They dont carry as many items as thier Fairfax store, but not bad. The hunting section is pretty complete, and a better deal than anywhere else in Woodbridge. Pretty good prices on shotguns and rifles, and they do run great sales. A whole lot to offer in the line of clothing. Although I'm not a golfer, they do seem to be pretty well stocked on golfing equipment. read more

The employees at the store are horribly lazy. Some of them tend to do always hung up items at the last minute on the racks without the promotions signs and when they do their dates are always wrong. I had to ask a employee to scan the items manual to see if the items where on sale( complete waste of time) The manger tried to argue with me in a very rude (maybe because she hates her job) Maybe if she opened her eyes and actually looked for herself she wouldn't be so misinformed.Yes, it may lead one to believe that you and your employees may be very incompetent.I had to call the corporate headquarters and complain. Some guy name "Ramos" was suppose to reach out to me but he never did. I advise everyone to go to gandermountain where their customer service is excellent. Like most reviews the service is what brings this place down. The young bearded hipster (i.e. bored) was exceptionally rude when I tried to swipe my card. "Man, how you gonna pay when I haven't even rung anything up yet?" After he had rung everything up I went to insert the card and again "Not yet man. Now you wanna pay cash or credit?" Now I've been paying with debit cards longer than this young man has been able to grow a beard, and in my experience, most registers don't require you wait wait and wait. I know there are some, but then they have pleasant cashiers who say something like, I'm sorry you have to wait for the machine to say swipe." No biggie, I understand. BUt this guy was so rude my daughter muttered "I hope the rest of his day sucks as bad as his attitude." as we walked out the door. Fortunately we live in a world where there are so many choices--online anyone?--we no longer need to put up with cranky impolite service. Life is too short. read more

Every athlete would probably want a spot to get gear and equipment. Dick's fills that role well. Spacious store with workout gear and equipment. I REALLY like the section that has equipment for different types of workouts. I also like the way the have set up the store. It has brand names segregated or in sections and you can go, for example, to Adidas or Russell section to make your selection. Only one negative thing: no one ever approached to ask if I need help. Getting right to the point - the Dicks ad in the paper advertised a product for $3.98. Another part of the ad advertised buy one at regular price and get one at 50% off. The better deal was the sale price of $3.98, but the cashier said he could charge only the buy one get one for 50% off. He claimed it was "the fine print," but "the fine print" wasn't included in the ad. Smacks of false advertising, doesn't it....? Husband is back at Dicks now seeking out the manager because those things just fester as the day goes on. Too many sporting goods choices around here to get screwed again by Dicks, so to speak, so we'll take our future business elsewhere. read more

I'm very disappointed with Dick's. I went to Dick's in search of a tennis skort. I searched all over the store and found two on the clearance rack (that my Mother wouldn't even wear). I spotted two employees having a conversation and decided to ask for assistance. The two employees looked very annoyed with me that I just interrupted them. I asked the employees if they had any tennis skorts and was given a quick and cold, "No". I quickly walked out of Dick's and will never return again. BTW...I found the cutest tennis skort at Target! Before the mass shooting in CT I came in to check out their selection of sporting rifles, even their air rifles. Three days straight I came in and went to the counter and each time I waited and waited for someone to come help me to no avail. The first time after five minutes I went searching for someone only to come back and find someone had popped up behind the counter and now I was fifth in line. The second two times someone said "I'll be right back" and never came back. I'll shop for sporting goods at the Quantico or Ft. Belvoir PX from now on. read more

I like this store for the most part. It is always neat, clean and presents well. I would shop here more often if the prices were not so high. Basically they don't do a lot of sales volume so in order to make the profit they have to raise prices. Another thing they could do to increase sales is carry more sports team variety. They tend to only carry local teams and in this area we have a lot of people from all over the United States so they could cash in on that. read more

Pathetic!! Placed an order online for two black ash baseball bats. Very simple right? 4 and a half hours later I get an email saying they cancelled the order. This was after I called to check on the standings of my order an hour earlier and they couldn't tell me anything. I shop in here for all my golfing and hunting supplies and have always had a good experience. Almost every time I am in there I am able to find someone to help me if I need it and they are very good at customer service. I would never order from on-line for store pickup. If the item is not the right size or not exactly what you wanted, you cannot do anything about it at the time of pickup. You have to wait until the next day. That is what I was told when I purchased a Youth Softball glove. Now it has been several years since I had to buy a child's glove but now as a grandfather I needed it for a birthday present. When ordering on line they don't ask what size youth glove you want and they just give you what they have the most of evidently. As I was told, no returns, no exchanges until the next day. October is suppose to be breast cancer awareness month... I went in to purchase something for my wife who was diagnosed with this disease recently. Dick's had run advertisements during the weekend. We'll - None of the items were in the store. I finally found one of the managers wondering the store (visiting with two young lady employees) and asked if he could help. I showed him a nice blouse on a maniquine. I needed a large, but the did not have any others. While the manager said the could order it and I could get it in about five days this did not meet my expectations. I may stop buying at the big box stores any more. The women's section is very organized, I never have any issues looking for particular gym apparel. I also love the selection of workout accessories and gear that I can use for myself or my clients. In the shoe department, whenever I need help or to try-on, an associate is typically somewhere nearby. This is my go-to sports store! read more

This is the best Dick's Sporting Goods in Northern Virginia - after having a disappointing experience at another location - it was refreshing to have such an amazing experience at the Dick's Sporting Goods in Woodbridge. Jaelin was sooo very patient with my daughter and me whilst we were taking forever in picking a cleat for her :-0 Honestly - I have never received such great customer service. I will only shop at this store from hereon - Having 3 teens - we shop at Dick's frequently and I was so appreciative to have had such a nice and knowledgeable staff member take his time to help us find the perfect cleat. Even Jeffrey our cashier was as nice as could be - This store should definitely get some recognition for having trained their employees to be top notch! I was in the market for a Yetti 20 oz. tumblr recently so I searched for authorized Yeti dealers. I discovered that Dicks Sporting Goods is an authorized dealer. I purchased the tumblr and got home to investigate the packaging. I realized that there was a way to register the tumblr to initiate a warranty for the product. I looked at the paperwork inside the tumblr and the packaging outside of the tumblr and could not seem to find the registration code that the Yeti Product Registration page was requiring so I called Dick's Sporting Goods. I called the location where I purchased the product. I was bounced around to several employees, none of them were able to help me. They told me to call Yeti, but Yeti was closed during that time. I asked to speak to the manager and got routed to a gentleman that worked in "Lodge". He was very condescending and rude. He told me that they did not know anything about a product registration code. I asked him, "aren't you guys an authorized Yeti Dealer? He said, well I don't think you even have to be authorized to sell Yeti products." He was no help and seemed as if he didn't want to take the time to assist me. I was finally routed to a manager on duty. Her name was Rosario. She patiently and carefully listened to my concerns and questions and assured me that she would assist me. She apologized for my experience with the previous employees and promised me that she would call me back with some answers to my questions. In less than 30 minutes she returned my phone call and was able to assist me. While I still needed to call Yeti to complete the product registration, she took my questions seriously and treated me with utmost respect as a customer. I had really considered taking the product back to Dicks and purchasing the same product from REI, but after talking with Rosario, I decided that wouldn't be necessary. She redeemed my faith in good customer service and I appreciate her patience and thorough resolution to my concerns. Thanks Rosario. read more
