Just had the best experience at Dick's in Apex. Went in to return a gift and not only did I get my refund from a really pleasant cashier but also got a $20 coupon (can't beat that). Obviously, with a coupon I had to look around. As I got lost in the unlimited supply of Stanley Cups they had in stock, one of the workers approached (Mike, I think was his name and he must have seen my expression of pure overwhelmed! I don't own a Stanley so this would be my first) He pleasantly acknowledged my plight, guided me on styles and also directed me to the new Calia Stanley display up front. Ended up purchasing two of them they were so cute. Coupling together good service, great savings and just overall positive experience, I definitely will be back! read more

My son is a swimmer and this store always has the products I need. I recommend this store that has athletes' kids or for yourself.

Store manager Justin lost me as a customer after spending $200 on clothes the day before. I had to return to have security devices removed from my clothes that did not alarm when I left. I asked if there was anything they could offer for having to return and was treated as I do not matter. I hope Justin's DM reads this reviews and can explain how much it costs the company to gain a customer. I told Justin I would shop elsewhere where they treat their valued customers right. read more

I'm stunned Dick's is even in business. They send me countless emails every day advertising some big sale they have going on. I'm looking to buy some running shoes and select the size and style. If they don't have the size or style the website let's me know. HOWEVER, when I pick what appears to be the style and size they have the website says I can't pick it up at the selected store AND it's not available within 100 miles. So a store 101 miles away can't ship it to me?? I can't see a reason to shop there ever again. read more

I was in the market for some new mountain bikes. Went to the somewhat local DSG store in my area of Eastern Washington. Purchased two bikes totaling $1k. However, that particular store didn't have the size of bike that I needed. Rather they had two available at another location in town. So I drove out there. After asking an employee for the particular bike that I was wanting to purchase. He located it as it was not on the floor. He returned and said it was in a box and that it would be 2hrs or so to assembly it. I told him that I was very mechanically inclined and that I would buy it in the box. He the proceeds to tell me that it was store policy that they had to assembly it and I couldn't purchase it in the box. I laughed and told him that I didn't care. If they wanted my money then they will sell it to me as is. He went to talk to his manager and came back again. Told me that his manager said it was store policy and that they wouldnt sell it to me in the box. Mind you, not once did that store manager come out to talk to me in person. I then asked the employee if I purchased it online and had it shipped to my home, would it come in that very same box disassemble? He replied "yes it would". So I laughed again and said what is the difference then? He just continued to state that it was their policy. So I walked out and spent my $1400 at a local privately owned bike shop. I will never shop at DSG again. absolutely ridiculous. I'm still in awe that they would so willing give up a sale like that. Corporate needs to figure things out. Anyways, that's my Karen moment. I hope you don't have the same experience that I did. read more

My daughter and I had the best customer service experience this evening at Dick's Sporting Goods. Daryl was extremely informative on the best selection of softball bat and helmet. He assisted us with getting the right equipment based on what would work for her and not necessarily the most expensive nor the cheapest, just the best fit. Even gave her some coaching on her stance and swing. We walked away feeling really good about our purchases and can't wait to put them to use. read more

The staff is killing this store. Today I stopped in to see what was new and was greeted by the stores bouncer/front door attendant. I said hi and he managed to only say "sir", not hi, not welcome to Dick's Sporting Goods, not even let us know if we can help, just sir. I let that pass and did my usual quick walk around to see the new stuff before I take a closer look and that walk around brought me back to the front of the store. As I look up before turning down the middle isle I am greeted once again by the store bouncer. He gives me a blank look that leans towards the negative side, looks at my pockets, I'm guess to see if they are stuff full of winter gear and asks me if I'm ok. Did I just get pulled over for speeding or am I shopping for outdoor gear. I told him I was fine and began looking at the sales clothes, but the back to back experiences with the front door clown left me in no mood to shop, so I decided to use my time I would have spent buying clothes to let the yelp world know what a great time I had. Other stores carry the same stuff and I will be spending my money with them moving forward. read more

I've been very happy buying my kids bikes from Dicks. They offer a warranty that covers tune-ups, so that's worked out very well as the kids are pretty tough on their bikes. For shoes, the prices honestly aren't that good. I've gotten much better deals online, with just as wide of a selection. I do like to shop their clearance section, especially between summer and fall. If you're have a frequent shopper card, they send you occasional coupons for $10/$20/sometimes $50 off, which helps keep the price down. read more

Very negative experience dealing with store manager. I was trying to sort out how to deal with a defective softball bat and visited the store after having been instructed to do so by customer service. Store manager was blustery and abrupt, saying that he couldn't possibly help because it's like returning a pair of used shoes (LL Bean takes back used shoes all the time - and they have an iconic business model...). Store manager said that Dick's Sporting Goods customer service doesn't know what they're talking about - after all they only get paid $8/hour!! Not withstanding sorting out who to contact regarding a warranty issue, I found the store manager's attitude rude, offensive, disrespectful, and thoroughly arrogant. C'mon - seriously??? read more

This morning I went into the store. After looking around I didn't find what I wanted. So I went to the Customer Service counter and waited. And waited. Nobody came to the counter. There were employees hanging about doing nothing and nobody asked me what I needed even though they saw me waiting at the customer service desk. Finally, out of frustration, I simply left. It's bad enough that this store sells assault rifles, but adding non-existent customer service means I will never enter that store again. read more

I spent an entire day looking for a panther salute to service sweatshirt and most stores I contacted wouldn't even look to see if they had stock but when I called this Dick's in Apex the staff was beyond pleasant and helpful found my sweatshirt and held it till I could get someone there to pick it up!!! I called several times to arrange the pick up and each time my sales person, Chris Campoli was extremely pleasant and never seemed bothered by my calls or inquiries. When the sweatshirt was picked up the entire staff was courteous and pleasant and the store was very impressive. I have been to many Dicks Sporting Goods but this one surpasses the service and quality that I had received in any others!! read more
