It's clear while prices in some cases remain the same but in most have increased, the quality has taken a nosedive.

There are times when people drive through the area revving their motorcycles or blasting music so loud that it ruins the calm, relaxed vibe. It's such a great place for families, couples, and visitors, and keeping it peaceful and safe would make it even better. Fenton really has all the makings of a perfect hangout spot in Cary. The associated wanted to argue with me that they weren't eligable for return despire my order on my phone and my reciept saying different. When I asked for a manager (who eventually did the return for store credit), her attitude wasn't any better. They couldn't care about customer service and both had snarky attitudes for asking them to follow their policy. The other store associated who helped me with my hemming order was fine but disappointing to see the attitude of management in this store. I'll stick on online shopping from now on.

The woman working here let me know that, because I wore the item more than once, it's not "really" returnable. And that the pilling on my leggings are normal "wear and tear". (I'll note: i typically love Athleta but I've had some leggings for 5+ years with zero pilling...Athleta leggings should not pill). She said returns/exchanges are up to store discretion, contrary to the global return policy. And her decision was to not accept my leggings. What made matters worse was when she picked up the phone, held it to her ear, clearly about to take another call -- all while I was talking to her. It was clear she was trying to end the conversation and rush me out. I knew this person was wrong, so I called the Athleta customer service dept on the drive home, who confirmed that this person was indeed wrong. In their words: "She should have accepted your leggings." They offered to call her directly and read her the policy, or help me resolve the issue via email. I chose the latter -- mostly because this person made me pretty uncomfortable in-store. I normally love Athleta, but this woman's attitude was pretty rough and her refusal to honor Athleta's exchange policy was just not ok. Thankfully, Athleta corporate came through.

This has been a general trend in America where people have shifted from going to traditional indoor malls to outdoor malls, some integrated with mixed-use developments and/or repurposed sites. Funny thing is Friendly Center has been around since 1957 and Four Seasons 1974. Both have changed over the years, for better or for worse. I came here multiple times with friends and family in 2008 and 2009. With my friends, we'd go to stores like REI, Great Outdoor Provision Co, and Barnes & Noble. It was around these years that I picked up a MacBook for my mom from the Apple Store. She returned several times for One to One trainings on how to use various Apple devices. Since 2018, I've been going to Friendly Center for Schiffman's Jewelers, for the most part. That's because I got my wife's engagement ring and wedding band from Schiffman's and have returned for inspections and cleanings. We returned just a few weeks ago to see Frances, who just celebrated 45 years at Schiffman's. Last month, I accompanied my wife and sister to Sephora and Anthropologie. Other brands that were or still are of interest to me at Friendly Center include Brooks Brothers and lululemon. There are also a Whole Foods Market and Williams-Sonoma. Friendly Center was sort of patchworked together over the years, so the design and routing aren't ideal and getting around can be confusing. It would be nice if there were maps of the property on-site, but we didn't see any during our recent visit. Also, at the time of writing this review, the map on their website is down. There are also a few identical clothes, but the reception lady only accepts one of the same suspenders, and another skirt is brand new. The brand has not been torn off and put it at the bottom. But the lady at the front desk didn't even look at them carefully, so she randomly chose two pieces and gave me a dollars. And they told me you can take all of them back with you or leave it. The way talk (reaction and attitude ) are such rude.
