It was recleaned free of charge, unfortunately the cheese sauce stain for only 3 days, was not removed. I used a excellent, much cheaper Brighton dry cleaner, who removed the stain but my jacket is now damaged. I contacted CITIZENS ADVICE who informed me that if a dry cleaner loses or damages a item of clothing the customer is entitled to financial compensation under the Customers Consumers Rights Act of 2015. On the 15th January 2025, I returned with all the necessary receipts to discuss a possible refund, ideally for the cleaning fee and money to cover the cost of repair. The manager claimed he was not responsible because he did not own the business 4 weeks ago! According to him, he's not liable, yet did ask if i wished to leave jacket for repair, I declined. He was confronational and very intimidating. I've been using this dry cleaners for 15 years, such a shame to have lost a reliable, trustworthy, independent business in Kemptown.

But as I now have my own washing machine and love not having to leave the house to wash my clothes, I won't. What I will say for it though is that it's all very clean, cheap and functional. The machines all work there's a little, all be it not very comfortable, bench to sit on and read and they have even acquired the works of a Paul Sample-Esque local artist depicting intricate scenes of local places that can hold one's attention for some time. This laundrette is also staffed which can make life easier if you've made the blunder of turning up without change. But don't expect much in the way of service or polite conversation as the staff are understandably bored and fed up looking, probably a side effect of the fact that they seem to have none stop Jeremy Kyle on in there all day.

The thought of getting…read moreplumbers round always sends shivers up my spine as I've been over charged massive amounts by so many cowboys in the past but I watched these guys do their stuff and they were excellent. They took hardly any time at all and the boilers been running perfectly since. Obviously you have to pay the call out charge but there was very little parts and labour on top. They are a huge company and rely heavily on their reputation so seemingly always provide a good service.

Okay, a quickie…read more Express Repairs is situated on Blatchington Road in Hove and offers repair and tailoring service for clothes. I didn't actually need anything repairing, but had a quick look at the store, which is nothing to write home about. I did think that if I ever need something repairing I will take it here. Sometimes the fact that a place looks like it is being used practically, to the point where there is no time for showiness, fills me with hope that you're dealing with ballsy professionalism. So, to conclude, this review is mainly intended so you know this place exists and the next time you bust the back of your flares whilst recreating a scene out of Saturday Night Fever, you'll know exactly where to go.
