Cutting ties
As someone who has worked in the upper end of the service industry all my adult life, today I encountered without doubt, the very worst experience of customer service in my ten years living in Brighton. The gentleman in question, who I believe was the owner showered me in abuse and lectured me on the etiquette of retail after I simply asked if he could offer any discounts on a tie I had my eye on. Had he of politely said 'Sorry, I don't' I would still have made the purchase, however the level of disrespect I received in front of a friend, made sure this nasty man did not get my business, I would avoid this shop like the plague.
