I don't usually review chain restaurants, but after a full daddy-son day, we were both wiped and hungry. I was craving some southern BBQ, searched nearby spots, and saw Dickey's pop up about 5 miles away. Decided to give it a shot even though the reviews online had mixed reactions. Glad I did. This place is under new ownership and it's a completely different experience now. The food is way better, the vibe is better, and honestly the old reviews don't do it justice anymore. When we walked in, it had a clean setup but still gave that southern BBQ feel. I ordered sliced brisket, smoked chicken, and smoked turkey. All of it was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. For sides I got baked beans and mac and cheese, plus Texas toast. Everything came out hot and tasted legit. My son kept stealing bites off my plate, so that's how you know it was good. The guy running the front was cool too. Real friendly, made us feel welcome right away. Gave off a solid BBQ joint vibe. Overall, this spot impressed me. It's a great little spot for BBQ, especially after a long day with the kid. Definitely coming back.

First time visiting this location after my usual Dickie's in Clairemont closed (sad face). This restaurant seems to have a smaller overall store footprint, but still retains all the feels of from the other Dickie's locations I've patronized over the years. I dropped my same day order via their app and popped in after the scheduled pickup time because I knew it would be busy and they would likely be behind schedule--they were. The hardworking staff were doing their best to fill orders with the team members they had on deck. They easily could have used at least 1-2 more to cover the rush but I'm sure it's hard to justify those costs between busy spikes like Independence Day weekends. Anywho, after a bit of waiting in the store I was able to confirm my order and carry it out. I should have spent my time more wisely and filled up several small containers of their signature sauce while I waiting for my order to be filled. Normally, I can request a small container of sauce but it was crazy busy and I was just happy to get my order and that it was correct so I could return to feed my hungry family. - Brisket was solid. - Same with the pulled pork. - Seems like the yummy biscuits were recently replaced with a pitiful version of Texas toast; or perhaps that's just what this location offers. - Small salad is a joke here - Beans are still a favorite of me and my kids - Fries were a soggy mess Not a bad first visit. The meats were solid, which really are the key selling point here for me and the fam. Didn't like the Texas toast here at all or the sad excuse for a salad. I'll stick with beans, fried okra with mac & cheese for my sides next visit. It was a bit of a drive but Still worth a visit when it's too hot and I'm too lazy to cue myself.

Dickey's is under new ownership! Food was perfectly cooked and a good size portion. The only thing that could make this better is some fluffy cornbread! It's nice to see the part owner/manager there on a constant basis to ensure everyone is running smooth.

This is a 3 meat plate! Wow...really this was $19.00 I'm so disappointed

Noticed a New Owners sign and decided to give this place a try once more! Nash greeted me and was so excited and fired up for their reopening - I ordered a few sandwiches per his suggestion- I hope they can turn the reviews and business around

This was my first time trying Dickey's Barbecue Pit. I like to order the family combo or combo meals in bbq places. I like that you can try a little bit of everything they have to offer. Different meats and sides. I ordered the family combo for $89.99 for myself and my family. We got the pork ribs and sliced brisket. I was expecting whole slices. This brisket looked like pulled pork. I just feel when you cut brisket this way it drys out faster. The ribs were really good. The meat was falling off the bone. And when you check in on yelp, you get a free sandwich. I picked the turkey sandwich. I forgot to take a picture of it. It was ok. The sides we picked were Bbq baked beans, they were good. Loaded mashed potatoes. They weren't to our liking. They felt like they need some kind of gravy to go with it. We also got Mac and cheese. That Mac and cheese was so disappointing. They were cold. Not even lukewarm. Such a waste of a side option. We didn't even eat it. The ladies that worked at this restaurant were really nice. But, if they had checked the food temps on the Mac and cheese they would've known right away that the Mac and cheese needed to be warmed up. Another thing that I didn't like about this restaurant was the bathrooms. They have 2 unisex bathrooms. Both bathrooms were dirty. And I mean dirty! They both looked like they haven't been clean in a while. I walked out and told the girls working that both bathrooms were dirty. They said they would look. But I have no clue if they had cleaned them. I probably won't be back to this restaurant. If I'm craving bbq, I will go to the Rib Shack in Fallbrook or Firehouse Que & Brew in Fallbrook.

Always when I come here the owner is such a positive and enthusiastic individual. No matter what he will make things right by his business. Always when I order everything is fresh including the French fries; they start cooking your right as you arrive. I love this place for good barbecue

We started with the Hummus Plate (4/5) and Spicy Sage Fries (5/5). The hummus had really good flavor and I especially enjoyed the garlic and olives in it. It paired well with the fresh veggies. The pita bread was a bit dry. The fries were definitely my favorite appetizer. They were flavorful with a slight crisp on the outside which is exactly how I like them. For my main entree, I ordered the Pesto Garden Pasta (2.5/5). It came with a generous portion of vegetables and was a good size overall but I wasn't a fan of the pesto flavor or the texture of the noodles. For dessert, I tried the Raspberry Cheesecake (3/5). The flavor was good although I personally prefer a firmer crust. It was still a nice way to end the meal. They had many of the same items as last year... omelette station, prime rib, shrimp, breakfast items, desserts, etc. Across the board, it was better than 2025. Cooked better. Tasted better. Desserts were really good. Service was ok. Price was the same $85 as last year so maybe that's a win after a year's worth of inflation. But again, without an included cocktail or mimosa or anything, I don't think the value was there. Especially considering the primary guests are mothers and they're probably eating about $35 worth . I wouldn't pick to come here but it wasn't father's day.

I recommend making reservations for this so that you get the tables either outside overlooking the farm or the field. We did a walk-in for four people so we could only get a table on the inside. It's definitely a cool place to hang out temperature wise. Food was pretty quick to come out. Portion sizes are moderate to big that we had to take home some stuff. We did have an issue where the chicken was undercooked, but they were able to remedy that very quickly. Definitely get the beet hummus. I only wish they had more crudités accompany it. You can see it only came out in a small little dish. Probably would recommend either sizing down the hummus or going up on the vegetables to make it a little bit more complete. The chicken and pancake was definitely interesting and not what I expected. Pancake is carrot and lemon, but you can't really taste the lemon. It only had sparse carrot in it, but definitely still worth a taste. The chicken was definitely savory and more herby so it kind of overpowered the pancake a bit. Definitely chicken packed. Fries came out pretty soggy, which was a downside. The root vegetable has looked pretty good and it was definitely a sizable portion. The eggs and pasture was a little bit interesting in the sense that day. It was kind of a fried egg surrounded by a pasta sauce and then there's bread ciabatta slices on the plate. It's pretty good not overly salty or overly tart for the sauce. Definitely a good keto/Paleo option if you don't eat the bread. We also had their banana bread, which was really good - it wasn't able to take pictures of it since we demolished it pretty quickly. I highly recommend any bakery items. It's a very family friendly affair as we saw large families with numerous children coming in and you can have a place to let the dogs run in the small field front of the restaurant. I saw a lot of other families is bringing their dogs out onto the patio portion of the restaurant. Overall, the ambience is very family friendly and I would definitely come back here again for a chill morning brunch. Note that they close at 1 PM for brunch! I noticed that they also have a drive thru lane. This is great value place to eat. We ordered steak and eggs and also ordered mushroom omelette. Food was very satisfying. We love the food delivery system... a glimpse of what's to come

I laughed aloud when I was comparing the menu with what I ate to, while writing a review for this…read morelocation. When ordering, I had ordered the southern fried chicken sando, which I was super stoked about. It was forever since I last had a fried chicken sandwich! I got a sandwich which I didn't think of anything at the time but did think it was super flimsy for a southern fried chicken sando. I had questioned my other half and he told me that a sando is a sandwich, and maybe this was a different twist on it. New momma brain was on full and I didn't think of questioning it. Joke's on me as it turned out to be a completely different meat sandwich entirely. I ended up getting a Socal Turkey Club and didn't think anything of it. They did get my tater tots right. I guess the universe just wanted me to eat healthier. My other half got what he ordered and one year old got what they wanted. And surprisingly, my one year old ate a good amount of broccoli. They also were super sweet in providing a community coloring book for my one year old to scribble in. Drinks were refreshing and strong! Parking wasn't too bad and it was in a nice cute area that gave off ski town vibes. We probably would return, if not to satisfy the fried chicken sando I never got.

Nice little spot, friendly staff, great location, clean. However, the food was really lacking. The…read moreranch was super watery, so was the mac and cheese. I ordered a burger with jalapeños in it, and a drink infused with jalapeño but the drink was way spicier than the burger which I think is pretty backwards. The burger was bland, the most flavorful part of it was the smokiness. Go here for some basic drinks and some appetizers if you're in the area, but if you actually like food you're better off going to Chili's or something. Edit: Also notice the same person keeps padding the stats by copying and pasting the same 5 star review. I get that this is someone's livelihood. Like I said, great location in a nice neighborhood. I wouldn't want to see a business close, but if you mislead people with a bogus rating and don't start making decent food you're not going to get repeat customers in an already secluded area. Listen to the people saying your food is not good and be honest with yourselves. Simplify your menu with your best sellers to reduce costs and improve on those dishes or something, idk! I'm no business man but when your food is not enjoyable even after some drinks at the Lost Abbey it's literally a buzz kill.

Our server Jared really made us feel welcome. He offered great suggestions, answered questions and made sure we had everything we needed to have an exceptional dining experience. He checked on us frequently in such warm and friendly way - he really made our day. The Brunch Point venue is open and airy (great breeze blowing through), clean and contemporary. The outside patio is comfortable and perfect mix of shade and sun. Excellent food choices with really creative (and delicious) options - sweet savory or spicy. Fresh ingredients prepared with the perfect touches make for delicious dining! Our food came quickly and was perfect and beautiful too. Nice cocktail choices and non-alcohol cocktails too. See pics of my BP waffle below it was a complete work of art! Delicious too! The help yourself coffee bar is a brilliant idea. Never wait for coffee! There were about 8 coffee choices, both caf and decaf. Hubby said coffee was very good, unfortunately the containers ran dry too quickly and I never tried any. Next time! Right now their hours are 8 am -3pm. Yummy breakfast/brunch all day - and super reasonable specials too - look for chalkboard with specials. They are hoping to make dinner again in the near future. You have to try this place! So good! We will be returning again (and again) very soon.
