Good BBQ! (Had the pulled pork and Kelsaba Sausage plate.) Very nice decor, too. Indoor ground floor and the loft upstairs. Shaded outdoor seating available in front.

I agree, it's the biggest Dickey's I've ever been too! Crew was super friendly and this place has private rooms off to the side even! Food was scrumptious! Will be back next time I'm near Independence!

Awesome awesome! We are staying at home for Covid-19 but wanted to support our local restaurant and eat some bbq. We had never been to a Dickies before. We ordered a 2 meat plate and a westerner sandwich. The original sauce is to die for. They brought it out to my car. I only wish they had on a mask for the exchange. But the food is wonderful and we can't wait to eat in when the pandemic is over.

I needed to cater a surprise birthday party for around 25-30 people and Dickey's bbq came through! Their food was delicious and came with all the plates and utensils needed. We had three meats, pulled pork, chicken breast and brisket, Mac and cheese, coleslaw and potato salad. The buns they give you are so buttery and good they flew off the table. I will definitely be going there when I'm in town again.

Had company in from out of town and took them to Dickeys in Independence. The building is fantastic and very clean. But from there it goes downhill. The staff behind the counter seemed like we were an inconvenience to them. Very lackadaisical and unmotivated. We got our order and sat down to eat. More than one person in our party commented on the dryness of the brisket. Personally I had the Pit dip sandwich. To start off I opened the sandwich and it looked like the almost forgot to put the meat on. The single slice of brisket didn't even come close to covering the bun. The "ajou" was greasy and very bland nothing like you'd expect from a bbq joint. The creamed spinach was excellent. I will think long and hard before taking other out of town guests to Dickeys

A very patriotic pig stand, decorated inside and out with red white and blue. I believe the little…read morerestaurant is veteran owned and operated. It is kind of a shoe string operation, almost a food truck type environment, only with full table service. The restaurant is a combination of what looks to be an old industrial building with an uninsulated shed structure attached. The shed, the lower and larger dining area where you enter, is heated and air conditioned. Grab a table there. Today the AC was working hard. It was comfortable even on this hot muggy day. Nothing fancy here. A functional back street BBQ joint. Very nice and obviously patriotic folks run this restaurant. The lady that served us was pleasant and friendly. The restaurant offers the basics with a little of their own spin on the menu. For me, I tried something different, the Diablo Sandwich. Referred to on the menu as spicey. The lady serving us described it as a version of a Sloppy Joe (chopped brisket, BBQ sauce, peppers and onions). For the sides, I picked Cowboy Beans and Confetti Cole Slaw. The sandwich was very tasty. With several generous applications of the house made Hot BBQ sauce I was able to bring the heat level to what I consider spicey. Same with the beans. The slaw, average. My wife had the sliced brisket with the Rustic Potato salad. A fair serving of tender lean brisket. It had a smokey bark, not covered with an overpowering rub. Good, but she commented that it was a little dry. Sauce was needed. A big dallop of delicious fresh potato salad was her side dish. The restaurant is easy to find. It is a couple of blocks east of Patterson Blvd (HWY 69) on 8th street. Give it a try. Support veteran owned businesses.

I was taken to this little place in Coffeyville called Patriot BBQ. I wasn't sure what to expect,…read moreso I tried to have an open mind. The lady who ran the place, Randi, said sit where you like and brought menus and sweet tea. I'm not a fan of smoked meats but did try the ribs with a side of some heavenly coleslaw slaw. The bone separated from the meat and it was tender. Michelle told me to taste her smoked sausage ‍. She enjoyed the Keiki which was a shredded potato smothered with Cowboy beans, smoked sausage and pulled pork. Randi was great! We placed the order and just barely got a napkin and my sweet tea started when she came with our orders. Michelle had been here before and I'm sure we'll go again!
