On project in Beckley. Trying to stay away from the chain restaurants back home in Jersey, so why not try Dickey's. I had high expectations for this place, but I am well traveled including states like North Carolina and North New Jersey where I come from holds our own. The Mac and cheese was good, not watery.. the way I like it. Probably the best part of my meal. When I saw the staff take the meat out from the holding area, I knew it may be trouble. The brisket was dry in many places and the ribs itself were dry in many places. I had the two meat option, and it came with two pieces of ribs. I had their original sauce on the side, I know what you will say-- why not put some sauce on it, my question to you, why does the meat sit in their holding area long enough to dry up and make for a poor experience. I usually stay at the courtyard, I should have went to the dickies near the hotel, perhaps more customers-more turnover, fresher product. Decor was nice, but I can do without the decor

    Having a late lunch today!!

I got pulled pork sandwich platter with barbecue beans and potato salad with dr. Pepper to drink. Used Dickey's original BBQ sauce on the sandwich and it was delicious. No complaints and I think all the food was delicious today. Recommend for everyone

The counter person said "don't forget your free ice cream" I said cool and filled up my soda cup with vanilla soft serve and added root beer!! That root beer float hit the spot!!!!

If you can, I'd recommend checking in and joining the waitlist beforehand so you can get seated as quickly as possible. Like most Texas Roadhouse locations, the atmosphere was buzzing and lively with all the college football games playing, the staff were super nice and attentive, and the food was excellent. My usual order is the rare Prime Rib with a Caesar Salad and Steak Fries -- with a side of creamy horseradish, of course! The salads at TR are always solid, the steak fries were especially crispy that day, and the prime rib was perfect: super tender, perfectly cooked, and not overly fatty. My sister also tried their Full Slab Ribs for the first time, which are supposedly award-winning, but I personally wouldn't give them that much credit. While the ribs were tender and well-cooked, they lacked seasoning. The BBQ sauce was there, but it didn't add much flavor. Maybe it was just an off day, but I'd call them mediocre at best. All in all, this Texas Roadhouse lives up to its reputation for great service and solid steaks -- but maybe skip the ribs and stick with the classics.

This place is a bit of a delightful plot twist. From the outside, you might expect the usual--but step inside and suddenly you're in a cozy little universe where the cocktails are dangerously good (and somehow still kind to your wallet), the bar feels like home base, and the food? Way more scratch-made magic than you'd ever guess. And let's talk about Amy. If hospitality were an Olympic sport, she'd have a gold medal and a signature cocktail named after her. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it--just pure, effortless excellence. Whether you're a road warrior passing through or a local in need of a reliable good time, Cheddars delivers that rare combo: great vibe, great food, zero regrets. Go hungry. Leave happy. Possibly stay for one more round than you planned.

My husband ordered the Monte Cristo because he was craving sweet and savory and of course I sampled some for myself. The jam was fantastic! I had the Dijon chicken with broccoli cheese casserole and it was like eating at my grandma's house. Everything was delish and the prices here are so good. I also love that they give you a buttery croissant instead of a dry roll or biscuit. It elevates the meal while still keeping that homemade vibe.

I used to travel and stop here often and it was amazing. The craft area of handcrafted merchandise has become not as sophisticated and high end workmanship. I noticed that change the last time I stopped through so that was disappointing. I used to often browse for gifts but that time nothing much to see. But on to my main thing -- the food. I'm actually heartbroken that now it's not in any way what it was. I learned that a few years back The Greenbrier Hotel stopped operating the dining room. And it shows -- they have remodeled and added tables. You no longer go through the cafeteria w the chance to see the grill and the food. And the food is pretty low to average score. The fried green tomatoes used to be pan cook w cornmeal and now battered and deep fried -- terrible the vegetable plate used to be amazing but barely edible. The cornbread used to be a large tender square delish but now a couple of tasteless muffins. My plate was served quickly and the food was barely warm. My friend's meal was very average, the salmon. The other was the soup and a side vegetable. Again average. I'm not sure why they lost The Greenbrier but it's not worth the cost. Still a nice place to walk around and stretch your legs but the food isn't worth the price and the crafts not at a high level. So a very disappointing meal. So you've been forewarned. All good things must come to an end.

While no longer run by the Evans family, Bob Evans restaurants are now numbered somewhere around 450 restaurants nationwide (mostly in the Midwestern/Southern regions of the USA, altho they do have locations in PA, NY, & NJ). This location is not too far from Hwy 19 here in WV and would make a good stop for road trippers and commuters alike. The Good: *Friendly and prompt service *Coffee was classic diner fare *Prices are ridiculously cheap for large portions (please note I'm from CA, so take that with as grain of salt) *Large and plentiful parking lot *Biscuits were bomb AF *Chicken Fried Steak was not spectacular, but it got the job done. The eggs were cooked well; the steak was nice and crispy; and the hash browns were the classic representation. The Meh: . *Décor is on the non-offensive kinda boring classic diner motif. *While the food was all very good, nothing was spectacular and worthy of an immediate return trip. The Ugly: *Whatever you do, don't look at the calories for the food here. 0_o TLDR: Solid American fare that's a good solid stop when available, and also easy on the wallet, too.

They have peanuts to eat while you wait for your food, and I assume that you are welcome to leave the shells on the floor due to the scraps and shards of peanuts past still littered on the floor. Despite this, the floor was extremely clean, which is why I am (to this day) unsure if they really encouraged people to discard their shells on the floor. Regardless, the service was decent. The atmosphere is fairly rustic and simplistic, with concrete floors and dim lighting. Neon signs and Jimmy Buffet posters were placed here and there along the wall. Just your typical roadhouse. The yeast rolls were delicious, and they came out warm. We ordered our food quickly. While we were waiting on our food, the waitress came back to tell one member of our 6 person party that their salmon would have to be served a different way than the way she ordered it, but it appeared to be a very minor change (maybe the seasoning? it was unclear). The food came out after about 10 minutes and it was good, but not spectacular. It would have been better if it were warmer; it seemed like some of the faster fare (burgers and steaks) were cooked before some of the baked items (mac and cheese) so the former was pretty much lukewarm. I ordered the 3 Original Roadies, which is just 3 slider cheeseburgers. All of them were dry and the cheese was much smaller than the already small patty, but the pickle gave it a bit more moisture and I could never get tired of those yeast rolls. Other items that were ordered and their reviews: salmon was good, sweet potato had to be re-ordered because the butter and sugar did not come on the side; the chopped steak was ordered medium rare and came out a bit on the rare side (make sure you err on the side of caution there!) and mac and cheese was hot but very greasy. Overall, this place was decent but not spectacular in both food, service, and atmosphere.
