She did a great job keeping the length, which I appreciated. My only complaint with my daughter's haircut is that it was cut crooked. When it came to my hair, unfortunately, this is the worst haircut I have ever had in my life. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to my hair and usually don't get upset over a haircut, but this is honestly insane. My hair was down to my butt. I specifically asked for it to be cut to my shoulder blades with long layers. My hair is now at my chin with extremely short, choppy layers that don't flow or blend at all. And honestly, the length isn't even my biggest problem. Fine, short hair can be cute. I could have gotten over it being way shorter than I asked for. But who layers hair like this? The layers are so short, uneven and choppy that I can't even put my hair up in a bun without pieces falling out everywhere. I have to pin my hair back just to keep it up. I didn't complain while I was at the salon because I honestly feel embarrassed and uncomfortable doing that. I kept hoping that after washing and styling it myself a few times, I would feel differently. It's now been a couple of weeks, and I'm still pissed. Hair grows back. I get that. But there is no styling my way around layers that were cut this poorly. I'm extremely disappointed.

My friend recommended the salon so I took a chance. I was greeted, I think by the owner who immediately came up with so many excuses why she couldn't cut my hair I was overwhelmed. They lost a stylist, they were booked, they had no openings. She asked the other stylist if he had any openings and it was a hard no! My hair was in desperate need of a cut and color. It was long, drier than the Sahara, three different types of brown and overall a hot mess. I was desperate for someone, anyone, to save me from the nightmare that my hair had become. My prayers were answered from the hair gods in the form of the lovely and talented Michelle. She is absolutely PHENOMENAL! Her passion for hair shows in the quality of her work. Not only is she sweet and friendly but professional with outstanding attention to detail. She takes the time to listen to your hair dreams and makes them as much of a reality as possible. She's brutally honest, so if your hair isn't capable of achieving a certain color she is quick to tell you, and even quicker to offer beautiful suggestions that will NOT DISAPPOINT. I want to begin by saying that the issue is not that I was denied a color service. I understand and…read moreappreciate that strand tests are important and that a stylist has a responsibility to protect a client's hair. My concern is entirely about how I was treated. During my consultation, Nanci performed a bleach strand test and informed me that my hair did not pass. While I expected honest feedback, I felt the way it was delivered was unnecessarily harsh and humiliating. She smiled as she told me my hair was extremely damaged and repeatedly pulled on the wet strand in front of me to demonstrate how "stringy" it was. Rather than feeling educated about my hair, I left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable. Despite my discomfort, I returned a few days later because I already had an appointment scheduled for a trim and the treatment she had recommended. I wanted to give her another chance. Unfortunately, the second appointment was worse. When I arrived and asked to use the restroom, there was hesitation before I was told I could. While washing my hands, dirty brown water dripped from a hole in the ceiling above the sink and nearly hit me. What made the experience even stranger was that she appeared to forget where she had performed the strand test and began aggressively searching through my hair for it. While doing so, she questioned whether I had colored my hair and implied that I may have done something to it. Considering she had personally performed the test herself, the interaction felt accusatory and unprofessional. Once seated, she began combing through my hair with a very fine-tooth comb in an extremely rough and aggressive manner. I have been going to salons my entire life and have never had my hair handled this way. While yanking through my hair, she commented that my hair was falling out and questioned what shampoo I used. Given how aggressively she was combing it, those comments felt inappropriate. Throughout the appointment, she repeatedly told me how damaged my hair was, insisted that I would need to cut it to shoulder length, aggressively teased it up to "demonstrate" how much breakage I had and then combed through it, and made me feel worse and worse about my hair. Another client arrived during my appointment, and I felt like my haircut was being rushed so she could move on to the next person. There was no wash or style included in my haircut. I left feeling disrespected, uncomfortable, and honestly shaken by the experience. I also wanted to add, I wasn't offered any water or any drinks for both appointments. This review has nothing to do with not getting the color service I wanted. I fully respect a stylist's professional judgment when it comes to hair health. My complaint is about the way I was treated. After years of visiting salons, this was by far the most uncomfortable salon experience I have ever had.
