our large plates of food! beautifully presented.

we were interested in a seafood dinner and we're pleasantly surprised by diamondback grills large portion sizes, their crab chowder, and kind service from our waitress. We got the Gambas Shrimp and Tuna salad. I'll share more about the dish under the photo. We will definitely be back and look forward to bringing our out-of-town visitors with us!

I came in for an early dinner with a friend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space was clean and open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the California bowl with steak added. It was very pretty and well balanced. I did include cauliflower rice which was served cold which kinda threw me off. My friend and I shared a dessert. The portion was perfect and it was delicious!

When I think of hidden gems of Winston Salem this place always seems to be at the top of that list! The food here is by far some of the best in WS and you rarely hear anyone talk about it. Not to mention the ambiance and service is something special! The mushroom toast was recommended by our server and it was delicious, will be getting it again In the future. This time we also tried two things we had never gotten before, the seafood platter and the apricot/prosciutto pizza. Both were amazing, the pizza was extremely well balanced between sweet and savory.

Went again last night and the food was wonderful, and the same friendly and professional service we have come to expect there.

When good food and service goes hand and hand. This is a cute hidden gem with great service and food. I had the 007 martini that was worth every penny, followed by some of the best cauliflower bites. They weren't heavily breaded or greasy. My main entree was the brown sugar tarragon salmon recommended by our waitress, that didn't disappoint. Their salmon is glazed with tomato paste which taste like ketchup with better flavor. My partner was pleased with the trout and roasted veggies. DiamondBack Grill is definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

Last night was our first time trying this we'll recommend restaurant. We were pretty excited. I ordered the salted Carmel Martini- but our server Thomas (who I'm hoping is new) brought me out a chocolate one. Eventually I got the correct one. Sadly the chocolate one was actually better than the one I ordered. HaHa. Our Calamari was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, our main dishes came out at the exact same time as our appetizer, bummer! That's a pretty big peeve of mine. My very handsome date got the steak & potatoes (he ordered the Filet), it was cooked to perfection, but anyone who knows a GOOD filet knows it melts in your mouth, this one not so much. It was definitely a tougher chew. Interestingly enough it's the same price for the filet as it is for the ribeye. I had the tuna & the spicy shrimp. Both were good & for the tuna being frozen & our location, I've definitely had worse, but I've also had MUCH better. I likely wouldn't order it again. We had the bread pudding for dessert & it is served cold, which caught me off guard as I've only ever had bread pudding that was warm. It was delicious though! Our water sat empty entirely too long, in fact I had to ask Thomas for refills. The table next to us was having a lot of issues with Thomas as well. The ambiance is nice, the cafe side & the bar side are like two different restaurants in one. It's very interesting. Overall- we'll give it another shot.

    Flash-Fried Calamari (delicious!)

My son and I were in Winston-Salem for the International Black Theatre Festival with Visit Winston,…read moreand when I learned we had free time for lunch, one recommendation immediately caught my attention. Between the rave reviews and the beautifully designed space, I knew this would be our stop. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the parking lot was on the smaller side, but any concern disappeared the moment we checked in. The hostess greeted us warmly, asked for my license plate so she could validate our parking, and had us seated almost immediately. It was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the experience. On the way to our table, I couldn't help but notice the inviting patio, perfect for lingering over lunch on a beautiful day. That said, I had reserved an indoor table, and I'm glad I did. The dining room is intimate, stylish, and effortlessly chic. It's the kind of restaurant that feels equally suited for a catch-up with friends as it does for a date night. The tables are close together, creating a lively atmosphere, so it's worth keeping that in mind if you prefer a little more privacy. Our server, Aundria, made an already wonderful experience even better. She was warm, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. It was also refreshing to see the entire team working together so seamlessly, with everyone stepping in to help one another throughout the meal. I ordered the lobster roll with shoestring fries, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The lobster was fresh, buttery, and generously portioned, making it one of those dishes I'd happily order again. Before we left, I asked Aundria what she reaches for when she dines there. Without hesitation, she recommended the Korean Beef Bowl, which has already earned a spot on my list for my next visit. As if the experience couldn't have ended on a sweeter note, it started raining just as we were leaving. The hostess grabbed an umbrella and walked me to my car, a simple gesture that perfectly reflected the hospitality we experienced from start to finish. Great food is memorable, but genuine hospitality is what keeps me coming back. This restaurant delivered both, and it's officially earned a place on my list of Winston-Salem favorites.

The "Korean Beef Bowl" came with about a cup of each beef, rice, cucumbers and maybe 1/4th of an avocado for $24. This looked and tasted like a $14 dollar plate at best (seriously, no kimchi even in a Korean bowl?); I left hungry. My wife got the Thai coconut curry, $30 bucks which included an $8 up charge for chicken, in which there were maybe 8 paper thin slices. The curry part was non existent both in volume and in taste. There was barely any sauce, very bland, and it essentially tasted like unseasoned noodles and vegetables. I would gladly come back for a happy hour and enjoy their other drink options and appetizers, but I just cannot justify paying the exorbitant prices for how mediocre the food ultimately was. I wish I had taken a picture of the food to add weight to the review but it was so lackluster looking that it just was not worth photographing in the moment.

Although it's tucked away in an unassuming business district, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm, inviting space and exceptional service. Everyone made us feel welcome, and the attention to detail throughout our meal was outstanding. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. It was served over a bed of crisp sliced cucumbers and the most amazing vinegar coleslaw. The combination of flavors was fresh, light, and memorable. Even the warm dinner rolls were outstanding and set the tone for the meal. For our entrées, the meatloaf was everything comfort food should be. It was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, served over creamy mashed potatoes with fresh French green beans. We also ordered the Chef's seasonal Squash Casserole, and it was phenomenal. If it's on the menu when you visit, don't miss it. Milner's way exceeded our expectations: wonderful food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere made for a memorable evening. We will absolutely make the trip back the next time we're in Winston-Salem.

After we finished our dinner my wife realized that our waitresses forgot to bring us rolls before dinner. I would have left 4 stars but that kind of bothered me.

I didn't expect the restaurant to be busy on a weeknight, but I was obviously wrong as the parking lot was nearly full. We found a spot at the rear of the restaurant and made our way inside. We were promptly greeted and shown to our table near the fireplace. A quick glance around confirmed that the place was jumping, which is good news for any restaurant during the middle of the week. A good balance of menu options from salads, sandwiches, fish, steaks, etc. Expect to pay $20-30 per person and some entrees are ala carte. They appear to have a good selection of wine, beers and cocktails from the long list in the menu. I went with the lasagna; my wife had the fish and chips; and my colleague went with the Beast Burger. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their selection. The temperature of my lasagna could have been a tad hotter, but it wasn't enough of an issue to send it back. I would order it again. Service was good throughout our visit, but I am deducting one star for the noise level. The high ceilings give the restaurant a beautiful lodge look and feel, but they make for a very loud dining experience. The sound level at times was more like a school cafeteria in my opinion. Perhaps a table on the side of the dining room would be quieter where nearby walls could help absorb some of the noise. Bottom line: not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner.

When we first walked in, it was busy and we heard the hostess tell the couple in front of us they would need to wait over an hour for a table - Lucky for me my wife made reservations and we were seated immediately! It was a bit on the noisy side but not so bad we couldn't have a conversation. Our servers, Thomas, was fantastic start to finish with good recommendations, attentive service without being overbearing, and a great personality. Good staff make a business shine! We started with glasses of wine and were impressed with how generous they poured. Perhaps it was a visual illusion, but they felt like very large glasses of wine and made it feel like a very good value. They have a good selection of wines to choose from along with a full bar. Appetizer was the Crab Cake Egg Rolls, something I don't think I've seen anywhere else. They're cooked in Beef Tallow which gave a very savory flavor and crispy texture. They were a bit on the oily side but overall flavor was delicious, and I really liked the dipping sauce which was like a very herb-heavy tartar sauce. For entrees, my wife had the Filet and I had a New York Strip. I don't have the words to describe how delicious and perfectly prepared both of these were. I didn't even bother asking for steak sauce because the perfectly tender and seasoned steak didn't need it. Nobody wants to pay high prices for a steak and receive something low quality, and I was thrilled with the quality of the steaks here. Surrounding tables likewise had great looking meals and I overheard them voicing pleasure too. As sides go, the baked potatoes and salads were excellent too. I got the hot bacon vinegarette dressing and was surprised it was actually served quite hot. It had a really rich and slightly tangy flavor that was unique and I really enjoyed on my salad. I have no complaints here and will absolutely be back. Of course it's on the pricey end, but this is the type of establishment you reserve for a special night out, not your average Tuesday night. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

One of the hostesses mentioned there would be seating clearing at the bar within minutes, which was good enough for us. We sat down 3 minutes later and ordered a few minutes after that. My daughter went for a cheeseburger which she happily ate stating that the food at Wake was NOT good all week. My husband enjoyed his turkey club and packed the other half for his flight later that evening (lunch and dinner). I went with the crab cake appetizer, which I thought was just OK. It was only a few dollars cheaper than the sandwich so I probably should have gotten that instead, but didn't want to be tempted with the bread and fries. We were in and out within 30 minutes, which I appreciated since we had a drive to Chapel Hill ahead of us. Overall, it was a solid meal and I'm guessing a favorite for those affiliated with the campus.
