    Heard about this place through word of mouth and had to check it out. The owner--100% a baseball guy--gave me the full rundown, and I was instantly impressed. Brought some teammates back a few days later and put them on. Honestly, I wouldn't go anywhere else--this place has everything. Just hoping their next upgrade includes an indoor or outdoor field!

I got my strength back for the big 3 (DL, bench, squats) pretty quickly with his coaching. Seung has Olympic lifting and powerlifting background so he is an expert to get you lifting heavy. SVA is a great facility with state of the art equipment and method tracking your progress. I definitely recommend getting a trainer who can help you with programming if you're feeling stuck where you're at with fitness. They have an awesome community they put together. Everyone's got good energy when you come in here. Coaches are very experienced and knowledgeable. You won't be disappointed. They also do some community events like renting out a movie theater to watch Avatar 3 as well as diet seminars. For price point, it's in par with what you'd see at other places. The good thing is they made it way easy to put good use from the HSA. Use that HSA and invest in yourself.

    I went to UFC Sunnyvale for about a year on recommendation of a friend, and it was a great…read moreexperience When I got the membership, I also caught a three-month trainer holiday promotion deal, since I knew I would have trouble getting myself to go consistently, and while I've been to the gym a bit before, I still wasn't the most familiar with how to make a routine, work towards any goals, or even use a lot of the non-machine equipment I was paired up with Coach Brian Kaho, and he was a great coach. My goal was mainly weight loss to help with some serious health issues I developed, but I also wanted to just have base strength, stamina, and endurance I didn't have before, whether for if I'm invited to do something athletic with friends, or just for day-to-day life Brian was great with working at me where I was at, while still helping me work towards my goals. He knew how to adapt the exercises and how to go about teaching me the core basics to be able to actually build up the skills I needed to do the exercises while also starting to build up the muscle to be able to actually do them Brian was incredibly motivating and encouraging as well, always hyping me up and pushing me to do more while still respecting fully when I did need to take breaks or modify an exercise. He also fully respected boundaries I had set, such as me not wanting to discuss dietary stuff and notwanting to take pre-workout due to my own health issues. He also always worked with me on helping us figure out my specific goals and checked-in wirh me on them I lost a significant amount of weight over the span of that year, which greatly improved multiple weight-related health issues of mine. That amount of improvement isn't something you can just buy outright I also gained some more muscle, which definitely has helped with day-to-day living, and I can't complain about how my fisque has changed from that too. But really, beyond health improvements, the biggest thing working with him helped with was building confidence, faniliarity, and comfortability with being at the gym. In the past, I've gone to the gym and learned a lot of different exercises, but I often would be overwhelmed and often not know how to structure a full workout for myself. Now, I can walk into any gym and make a workout routine for whatever muscle group I want to target, adapt it for the machines and free weights available, remember or figure out the exact body postion to do the exercises properly, figure out sets and reps, and determine weights would push me without hurting me, or modify if weights end up being too much The UFC gym in sunnyvale overall is generally a great vibe as well. I did some of the kickboxing classes, which were fun, but there were a lot of other classes I didn't have the time to try that definitely caught my eye. The equipment is always in good shape there as well, and staff has always been helpful with dealing with any issues like trainer session payment processing and such

This is one of the best strength classes I've taken (beginner to intermediate level). The way this works is that you start with a Fundamentals course (3 total classes) where you are taught the main lifts. This is all about getting used to the movements and understanding the right form. From there you are allowed to jump right into classes. The schedule is available online. No signups needed, you just show up. The workouts are challenging but doable. Love that the class is structured so you often work with a buddy which lets you get to know other people in the class. The class times are convenient for someone who is working the usual 9 - 5 schedule and there are classes available every day. The workout is posted on Facebook each day so you know what you're getting into before you arrive. Most importantly, the community that they have is really open and welcoming. I was nervous about trying out a CrossFit gym like this, but I'm really glad I did. Can't wait to continue with my fitness journey here!

Before 3fit, I used to find working out boring. 3fit workouts are always different and engaging and you don't realize how the time flies. I look forward to it each time. I learned to climb a rope, climb over a wall, keep my joints flexible, do a bar hold for a minute and do my very first push-up at 3fit. The community is great and we also meet outside of the gym to play pickleball which is a lot of fun. I was amazingly impressed with how she did the assessment and pointed out all of my problems through my movements, and told me how to train to improve them and my back conditions (I have a long history of severe back pain). We focused on all the basic techniques first, the first few sessions were all about how to engage the core and breathe right to make sure I work out safely. These are essential for all sport training, but also significantly important for people with bad back like me. Gwen's workouts are challenging but super fun to do. She always listen to how my body feels to make necessary adjustment. I have passed the period of mobility focus and now working more on the agility workouts. My back has been great, and after the first few months of moving slow, I started seeing steady results. I took a Dexa scan at the beginning to know where I was at, and now taking it every 2 months to keep track of the results. While my lean mass has increased a bit slowly, I have drop quite a good amount of fat mass, and my bone mineral is higher. If you are looking for a trainer, I highly recommend Gwen, she is a perfect match for any training needs but even more so for people with injury and training limits.

I look forward to my workout and have had great results. Rick helped push my fitness to places it's never been before. With his individual attention and focus I was able to run a Half Marathon on Memorial Day. Before I started training with Rick I had horrible knee problems. His fitness bootcamp held over on the Plaza in Sunnyvale will really challenge you to push your limits. He pays attention to everyone in the class. It's not just a cattle call with someone barking out orders. It's a real focused class. I feel like I get personal training each time I go. Rick is a caring personal trainer that gives each bootcamp participant individual attention. He will not let anyone do exercises in an unsafe or improper manner.
